Burnou walked over to the dead elk and sat down. "That was pretty easy wasn't it..." He scratched his ear with his hind paw.

Leela shook out her fur. "Let's call the pack. This thing is too big to carry." She threw her head back, and her beautiful voice sent a chilling, haunting song into the air to call the pack.

Mohan stood up and shook his fur. "That would be Leela."

Codiac stood. "Leela's calling."

Burnou joined in her howl, his voice unwavering. When they finished howling he walked over to a small clumb of marigold in the shelter of a holly bush and bit off some of the leaves. He held up his paw and took the cobwebs off then smeared the marigold pulp on his almost-healed wound and wrapped it back up with new cobwebs. He walked back over to the elk and stood over it.

Nikuta, barely awake, nodded and, slowly standing up, shook her head clear of drowsiness. She started toward where the alphas' howls came from. She picked up speed as she started to wake up. She ran though the forest and to the spot where the howl came from to see Leela and Burnou standing over an elk. "Wow nice job."

Leela smiled. "He did most of the work. All I did was deliver the easy final blow."

Mohan burst after her.

"Leela's calling...Something must have happened.."Lula said, putting her nose in the wind. "We should go..."

Rikku jumped up in down. "Leela! Can I help? I'm strong too! I caught that mouse!"

Burnou grinned and shrugged. "Ah it was nothing, i'm sure any wolf could of done the same."

Nikuta shrugged. "It's still a good job, this elk will last us days!" She wagged her tail.

Codiac frowned. "But I don't want to go. They'll be fine without us. We can go now. I'll take care of you. I promise."

Leela looked down at Rikku and smiled. "Yes you can help. You can be the lookout for any dangers while we carry this thing back to camp."

"I know. I don't either...But I'm worried about the pack." Lula frowned. "Codiac, I love you." She whispered.

"Okay, Leela! I will make a vicious bark if I see any dangers!" Rikku wagged her tail.
