I walked through the ferns quietly, barely making any noise and then I stopped and looked at DapplePaw.
" Yep, now where is the best place to hunt?" I asked her quietly as I peered through the branches.

I didn't stay long enough to hear protests from other cats, but I did hear them from the nursery. Especially FoxFlight. I shut out the noise as I began grooming each kit. " Are any of you hungry?" I asked my kits in a caring tone. I hoped that they wouldn't follow in their leader's pawprints when they were older.

I didn't want to cast one of my best cats out of the clan, but I didn't want him getting off so easy either. I figured it would only add more stress to his mind if I told the clan. Would it be proper punishment though, to have him earn the clan's trust again? I thought on this. I knew it would be hard on him, but how else could I know that he would have a full punishment? I didn't know if it was right or not, but I did know I was going to tell the clan. We are all a whole so we should all know.

I stepped into the clearing and stood on the rock in the center of the camp.
" May all cats old enough to hunt by themselves step before me." I watched my warriors gather around silently, talking about what may be going on. As I watched them sit in front of me I sat, calmly looking over them all.
" I have news about our deputy. I have only chosen to tell the clan because as we are a whole we should know all as a whole. I am sad to admit that our deputy,WhiteLeaf has broken the warrior code. He came to me and told me, honestly, that he has had a kit with RiverClan's leader, IceStar. I am not banning him from the clan for the simple reasons that he is a strong cat, he is honest, and though he made a mistake that will not be forgotten, he still remains loyal to our clan. Traitor is not the correct word for him, if you are thinking that of him. If he was a traitor then do you think he would still be here. I have thought hard for a short while and I know as well as all of you know, that love is something strong. It is stronger than even the most loyal clan cat, or warrior code, as you can see." I became silent not knowing how to continue. Then I spoke again," His punishment is the fact that he may have to battle his kit when it becomes a warrior. " I finished and listened silently.

I looked to BlackCloud in almost a confused way as he asked if he could join us when we went hunting. I sighed as I thought about it for a second and then FlameHeart turned to me and asked if it was okay with me. I wondered why he had stuttered and then i thought to myself that I wouldn't be able to tell FlameHeart about me carrying kits. I shrugged and said, " Sure. Hunting is hunting and the more the merrier." I flicked my tail as I stood and looked back to see if they were coming.

"I'm not sure yet, but I am sure it won't be too dufficult." I waited on Fleur as Panther finished up her rabbit.

I raced over to my mentor. "Is it time for my assessment?" I asked eagerly. I just hoped that Backpaw would have his soon too.

"I will be!" I promised. "So what are we doing?" I asked.

I nodded. I took in my surroundings for a moment and then looked at my mentor, looking for the best spot to attack. I noticed that he was bigger than me, but I was slimmer and faster. I darted towards him and quickly slid under his belly. With sheathed claws I batted at his soft belly.

I hissed in annoyance and decided to try another method. I quickly jumped on to his back and hung on.

I noticed that he had a good point. I quickly climbed a tree and got to the top. I made sure that the leaves were covering me as I jumped quietly from tree to tree. When he didn't know where I was I jumped down.
