It was only a few days ago that our leader, Frozenstar, died and I was named leader.But I wasn't leader just yet.I still needed to travel to highstones to recieve my leader name-Icestar.
I was quite excited and the Clan seemed like they would be greatful their Clan wasn't led by a mouse-brain.That was fantastic actually.Some past leaders have been...you could say hated.Frozenstar wasn't the best leader.He'd send cats into constant battles for nothing.Innocent blood spilt...an for what?Absolutely nothing.I was determined to make a fine leader and live as long as possible.
I was sitting on my rock and observing the clearing.Cats were stirring and I needed to call Kestrelstripe so we could make our journey.
It's only traditional to have the Clan medicine cat come but ours was gone...and she wasn't coming back.So with the flick of my tail I signaled Kestrelstripe and we left.

The morning light came through the den quite bright.Leaf-bare was finally over and new-leaf was on it's way.It wasn't just me that was noticing the change eiher.It was the whole Clan.It hadn't been too long ago that I was named a warrior but I was already growing used to the new duties I needed to carry out.I was also hoping I could fulfill one of the duties to be a mentor.Unfortunatly there are only two apprentices and they both have mentors.Maybe when there are more kits I'll get an apprentice.
Brawnytail was already in the clearing, asking for a morning patrol."I'll go," I offered.
"Good," he replied, "Fetch a couple warrors to go with you." He flicked his tail toward the warriors den and I did as told.
"Robinwing and Rockcaw, get up!We're going on morning patrol." After they woke up and before any questions were asked, I padded out of the den.

As the camp was awakening I stood next to Ashstar.I still found it hard to believe I was her deputy.Then again I was the oldest warrior in the Clan so it was an obvious choice.Nomatter how surprising it was, I still stood next to her, proud as ever.
"We need a morning patrol!," I called out.I didn't want to waste too much time standing, asking for cats to take out the morning patrol so I swished my tail impatiently.
"I'll do it, I guess," Blackcloud spoke out."I'll take Pinepaw with me too."
"Thanks, Blackcloud," I replied."Oh and when you're back, Pinepaw should get some training in for the day.See to it that he does.After all, you're her mentor and you've been slacking.You owe her," I added.
Blackcloud was a fairly young warrior and needed to take his duties more seriously.He seemed to slack off a lot.
When Blackcloud left, I turned to Ashstar."He has been slacking a lot lately.I wonder if being a warrior is too much for him?" What I said was true though.Maybe being a warrior was just too much for him.

When I woke up, Whiteleaf was asking for morning patrols.I haven't done much lately so I volunteered Pinepaw and I.I hadn't even trained with her in a while.I wasn't sure if I was cut out for being a warrior after all, but my loyalty still lay with WindClan.I wasn't going to retreat to the soft, kittypet life just yet.
Before Whiteleaf could order anything else from me I crept away toward the apprentice den."Wake up, Pinepaw.We're going on patrol," I said.It was funny seeing her and Flamepaw sleep next to eachother.It was almost like looking at a brother and sister.Too bad they weren't.

I was sleeping great until Blackcloud came in and woke up Pinepaw.I had to get up anyway so I was sort of greatful.I really didn't want Whiteleaf to catch me sleeping all day...especially Ashstar.
I stretched and padded out of the den into the clearing.Spottedtalon wasn't awake yet so I sat down and groomed.I was hoping we could go hunt because I was starving and there was no fresh-kill yet.
Then Ashstar padded up to me."Good morning, Flamepaw.Where's Spottedtalon?" she asked.
I looked up at the leader and never realized how big she was compared to me."U-uh she's still asleep.Is there something you needed?" I questioned.I was hoping I'd be sent on a mission.

~ShadowClan Camp~
Willowtail
As the Clan began the day, I offered to take out a hunting patrol. I took Bluetail with me and we ran out towards the marsh.
"I wonder if we'll find any prey today?" podered Bluetail."After all, prey has been very scarce lately.I'm glad there's even enough to feed the Clan," he told me.
"Yeah I know," I replied.Prey had been scarce, but now that new-leaf had come prey would be awakening from their long-sleep and ShadowClan territory would flourish again.
Bluetail and I split to hunt.We each caught enough to quench the hunger of a few cats for a while.After we added our catches t te fresh-kill pile, we took something for ourselves and ate.
Stormkit bounded out of the nursery,"Hey Willowtail!Skyglow says it'll be just a little longer and then I'll be an apprentice!Are you going to be my mentor?" The words tumbled out of his mouth quickly.
I couldn't help but chuckle,"I'm not sure if I'll be your mentor but Bluetail would be just as good.He's a great warrior and has earned it.Besides, it isn't my place to decide, it's Skyglow's."

I went out on a hunting patrol with Willowtail and we caught enough to fill a couple of ShadowClan bellies.I was proud of our catch because it was more than what a lot of cats were bringing in.
I took a frog and padded over to Skyglow."Do you think you could run it past our leader if I could be Stormkit's mentor?" I asked.I doubted it though because Willowtail was much older and more experienced, where I was a new warrior.I haven't even fought in a battle yet.
Skyglow faced me and smiled,"I can suggest it but it isn't my choice.You know our leader should be the one to choose don't you?" he asked.
"Of coarse I do.I just thought...you could throw that at him/her," I answered.Excited but calm, I walked toward the warrior den to share tongues with Willowtail if she wanted.

Earlier Skyglow told me it wouldn't be too long before I was made an apprentice.I was bursting with excitement!I ran and told Willowtail.She seemed pleased that I was earning a new rank in the Clan.She also told me being an apprentice was hard work.I didn't care though, I'd make it work.
I ran back into the nursery with my mother and told her what happened.She was also pleased that I was growing up.All in the same time, though, she seemed sad.I could see it in her eyes.
I was tired now that I ran all over the place and decided to curl up and take a nap.

I figured if you pose no threat to the Clans, you're a loner.If you're a rogue cat, you are considered a threat.So I put you as a loner if that's alright with you.

I flicked my tail calmly as I rested in the nursery. It had been many days since I had become pregnant and now I was just waiting for that one special day when I would have my beatiful kits. Excitement welled inside me as I though about taking care of a beautiful set of kits. I licked my paw and began to clean my face, but just as I did so I heard a mew. I guess that our new leader was leaving. I felt sorrow well inside me as I thought about how our latest leader had been killed. Carefully, i traced my paw over my face in a slow movement and then I stood up to go pick up a plump mouse fromthe fresh-kill pile. I glanced at the nursery and decided I wanted to eat near the warriors today. It was no fun being in the small space of the nursery. Well, it wasn't that cramped , but I wanted the comfort of eating with my friends.

I gazed between the bushes leaves and let my paws trace wherever SilverPelt stepped. I was still waking up, but I was ready to patrol.
" So, what side are we patrolling this morning?" I asked in a mild tone as I kept an easygoing pace. I flicked my tail in a challenging way at her as if I were testing her abilities as to whether or not she knew all the sides of the ThunnderClan territory. I opened my mouth slightly, letting all the scents come to me.

I sat beside my deputy, WhiteLeaf. I purred with delight at WhiteLeaf's authority over the other cats. I was very proud of him. He seemed to notice things that needed patched up in each cat.
" Yes. " I licked him once on the head still purring. " Why don't you go with him sometime and help him out some. After all, you are a great role model. You seem to know your job very well and I praise you for that. Now, you could give him some pointers and maybe he will straighten himself.

I walked away and sat beside FlamePaw. "Good morning, Flamepaw.Where's Spottedtalon?"
"U-uh she's still asleep.Is there something you needed?" He answered me ina very curious way. I gazed off at the sky for a moment and then looked back at the apprentice.
"Actually, yes." I smiled and began to purr softly. " I would like you to come with me. " I flicked my tail to my right while ,smiling in a freindly gesture ,inviting him to follow me.

I crouched low between the trees, well at least a few of the ones that were in our territory and I watched a mouse drag itself out of its hole. I watched it intently and then a few short seconds later I sprang.I slowed myself down on purpose adn I egan yelling as I chased the mouse around in a circle. I knew I could catch it. It was so easy. So before it could escape I pounced onto it and delivered the bite that killed it. Nobody in camp really knew that I had left early in the morning to go hunting, but I also liked my time alone so I buried the mouse under a pile of leaves and continued on my way through the territory.

" Aha! A poor little mousey wousey get too far away from the whole?" I hissed lightly under my breath. I sprang forth in an awkward way and missed the mouse by a whisker-length. I was a warrior. What was I doing acting as if I were an apprentice again? I twitched my tail in annoyance and then I heard a familiar voice behind me. Nobody was there though. I sat perfectly straight and waited for my senses to come back. I guess it was just the trees whispering to me. I stalked back toward the camp, picking up the mouse I had killed on the way.
