Haylee felt the whip on her face, and reached up with her hand to feel the soft warm blood. She winced, but stood her ground, "You won't get the key!" She yelled

Haylee felt the whip hit her again and she let out a small tear in pain. "No..." She muttered. She was doing all this for the horses. She had burned her right leg, went into the burning building got a terrible cough, jumped from a high corral fence and landed on her head, and now was being whipped.
