Death knew the scent was a lie, so he shut it away and thought of other things. When would he become a warrior? Was anyone worried about him? Where was he anyway? The he heard the barest sound. Death stood up and unsheathed his claws. "Who's there?" He hissed.

Luck blinked in surprise, her heart throbbing at just the sound of his voice. She could never forget it. "Death," she sighed, wondering if she should just turn around and run away...how could she face him after what she'd done? No. I need to be brave. Come on Luck, for once in your miserable life, be brave! She took a deep breath, her light yellow fur on end, "Its Lu-Cinderpaw." she mewed, walking out of the bushes, her eyes on Death.

Death froze and his eyes dropeed to the ground. "Hey...Cinderpaw," he said tightly. What was he doing? This cat broke his heart and he was just sitting there? "You look happy." He mewed. Was that all he could say? "I hope Raven is treating you well." He spat bitterly at the ground. "He does a much better job at it than i do."

Swanfeather growled at Paleblaze, standing up. "You think that now this is my second litter that I love them any less? If so, you have alot to learn Paleblaze," she growled, her fur rising. "Starclan is not going to send you a message! These kits need to follow their paths! I love mine, and dont get me wrong, I am fearful for them. All of them- my poor Tinykit, a runt. Leopardkit, and Poppykit!" Suddenly her eyes clouded with hurt, and she glanced outside the medicine cat den, thinking of Skywatcher. "Cinderpaw has left the clans, as I was told by Silverpaw. And Skywatcher just disappeared. Heatherpaw barely speaks to me, and Snowpaw is growing up. Sure, I have Brambleheart, but a mate is not nearly enough.... these kits are my angels. Dont think this is easy!"

Raven slowly lay down in the warm fall sun, soaking his pelt. He glanced at the sky, hearing voices, and quickly got up. Silently, he slunk back towards the direction of the voices, picking up on Death and Luck's murmurs. He quickly glanced away, not wanting to hear, before slowly padding towards the cave, two fish in his mouth.

Luck cleared her throat, looking down at the ground. "Death..." she sighed, not really knowing what to say. He had been so kind to her, and she had really loved him when she was near him, but the thing was, she didnt love him when she was alone. She thought about Raven when she was alone. She wanted to tell him he always treated her well, that he was such an amazing tom, a good cat, but she knew it would sound fake and phony and he would be even more upset. "Im sorry," she mewed at last, closing her brown eyes for a moment in remorse.

Maplekit thought she heard her mom over by Blossomfalls den, and pricked her ears, but was too wrapped up in Creamtails stories to care much, so she stopped listening, only catching something like "Second litter" and "Mate not enough." She shrugged. That was boring! She bounced on her paws, wanting to explore more.

Bubbleclaw walked over to Snakestrike, "Hey there," she purred, sitting down next to him.

Death shrugged, pretending to look indifferent. "It's fine, cinderpaw," he sighed, "your heart found its place. Even if it wasnt beside mine." He gave her a wry grin, not bothering to hide the tight agony in his expression. "Just remember that you'll always be my girl."

Cinderpaw smiled back tightly, an ache of pain running through her. He was so...caring. So sweet. It killed her. She wanted to be his girl again, now that she was here with him, breathing in his scent, looking into his eyes...She sighed. "Thanks, Death, good luck in the clan, you really did find your place there," she mewed, trying to put all this behind her, "You will always be my first love, Death, and I know I couldnt--even if I wanted to--ever forget you," she purred, nodding her head.She knew she needed to just get out of there and find Raven, maybe lie down for a bit. Rest.

Silverpaw glanced around, his eyes flickering as she tried to spot Death. Blossomfall, before disappearing with two queens, had told her that the rogue ceremony was delayed, and that she should train Death. Sighing, she wrapped her tail around her paws. Even if she knew he did not like her, she still wanted to watch out for him, no matter what her actions showed.

Snakestrike pressed against Bubbleclaw, purring. "Hey beautiful," he grinned foolishly. (WB)

Bubbleclaw purred and curled her tail around his, rolling her eyes. "Want to come hunting with me, maybe?" she asked, kind of bored. "I feel all cooped up in camp right now," she sighed, glancing at all the cats. She looked back at Snakestrike and smiled though, forgetting about all the other cats when she looked at him, though, deep in her heart, a pang still rang out, a small jab at her heart. Rowanheart. But it was so feint she could only detect it in her dreams, and she forgot those every morning anyways.
