The she cat was happy that she had learned to fish quickly. When her mentor asked if she preferred to practice battle, she replied yes! She was excited for this. Then Leafcloud asked about something she was also wondering, would anyone adopt Sandkit? Moonpaw hoped so; she wondered what it would be like not to have someone on her side, given her support. Her mother died and her father she never knew, but she always had her sister, and also Leafcloud. She was about to suggest that Leafcloud should try to keep the kitten, when the mentor asked if she could have chances.

- Yes! Absolutely, I have sure that you will get. Oh my starclan you will be a great mother.

Leafcloud shot her apprentice a hopeful smile and mewed " Thank you Moonpaw, I will ask after battle training," aaaaannndd speaking of battle training, Leafcloud had completely forgotten about the technique she was planning to teach Moonpaw. Berating herself for getting so off-topic, the calico asked "Moonpaw, is there a battle technique you're interested in that I haven't taught you yet? I'm a bit scatterbrained today." After Moonpaw replied, Leafcloud started heading toward the clearing she found while trying to track down Quailshade that morning. "Because of how fast you learn, we could probably get back to camp before noon" Leafcloud remarked playfully.

Moonpaw use to be very energetic, but this time she was happy to hear that they would soon return to camp.

- So let's do it. I would like to learn how to make another cat run away scared from me!!!

Yeah, sometimes she used to have evil ideas, but in an innocent way. She didn't really want to hurt anyone, she wanted to protect her clan.

The silver tomcat frowns to himself, "TinyStar?" Is questioned again to the leader, green eyes downcast. Is he really going to do this? Should he? He exhales slowly; having grown up with noone he doesn't wish the same on anyone. Even if loosing his own family only three moons and some sun's ago means the loss is still raw. "I would like to apply to be the new kits parental figure."

Is that the way to say such things? He clears his throat- "uh... if Noone else is willing, or able. If um, you think it appropriate and he's willing?" His hearts thrum steadily faster. "I mean... he uh... " The Warrior feels his ears burning - as if everyone were watching him - as if he even has a chance. Why would he be picked when there are so many other candidates? "I would not wish the kit to be alone, even if his own parents arrive sometime and I had to give up -" he is purposefully not looking anywhere but his own paws- "custody if the kit. He shouldn't be alone..."

FallenRains isn't sure why he's even offering: his hearts still hurt. But isn't he needed? And did TinyStar even hear his pleas?

LightningStrike

The nightwatch Warrior rises from where he's lying and stretches; grimacing at the other warriors pleas to watch over the kit. As if he were good enough! His own family is dead and he's rushing in to take over someone else's?!

Rather than say anything- because his glare leveled at the one called FallenRains is more than enough- he follows Cloudfur. "Psst! Can I join you?" Is asked of the other warrior.

Cloudfur stopped once they heard their name being called and turned to look. They saw a fellow warrior walking up to them and asking if they could join.

"Oh, of course Lighteningstrike; the company would be nice though I don't know how exciting catching prey with me will be. I get so focused on getting the prey that I sometimes forget to talk to anycat around me." Cloudfur admitted sweeping the ground with their paw.

Leafcloud

As Leafcloud entered the clearing, she stated "ok, since you seem so enthusiastic to get back to camp, let's go with the fastest battle move. This is what I like to call, 'The Distraction'." She demonstrated by standing on her two front legs and aiming a swipe at Moonpaw's head, then when Moonpaw focused on her paw, moved her other paw to swipe at Moonpaw's feet, knocking her off balance. "This is relatively easy to master," Leafcloud said as she helped Moonpaw back up "you just have to balance and not get your paws wrong. It is a defence move so I don't suggest doing it when you could have another cat rushing up behind you." After Moonpaw had successfully hit her mentor at least three times without falling over, Leafcloud decided she was good enough to take a break for the day. It was a little after noon so Leafcloud was right about Moonpaw's learning abilities.

When she got into camp to ask for parental rights to Sandkit though, she found Fallenrains already there. She felt a sudden flash of heat that was like a mix between anger and... adrenaline? But the emotions faded as soon as she saw LightningStrike glaring at FallenRains. She knew that FallenRains had something horrible happen to him when he was younger, but not exactly what. She waited for FallenRains to finish before piping up "TinyStar, I too would like to apply as Sandkit's parental figure."

is it possible to do this?

The proud she-cat brought three birds and a squirrel to the pile, dropped them there, and went to a corner to clean her fur, already exhausted from the hunt where, for once, she had expended a lot of energy.

They arrived at the camp and the apprentice went straight to leave the fish in the pile, taking a bird from there and heading towards to the apprentices den, she was exhausted. But Halfway up she saw her sister, Wildbreeze, and went to lie down beside her to share licks.

His green gaze turns to the other warrior, LeafCloud. "I harbor no qualms about sharing parental duties with you." Is stated amicably, voice low and distant but not cold. It's a comfortable and comforting sound; "if that is acceptable to you TinyStar, the kit, and yourself, LeafCloud."

The silver cat flicks his ears one at a time, having caught LightningStrikes' glare... and doing his best to not dwell on it. What does he know anyways?

He tries to push the memories of what the silver warrior had asked from his mind, and the doubt from his heart. "That's no problem!" Says the he-cat, though he wishes the other would want to talk more. Almost anything to keep out of his head!

A faint smile graces his muzzle, "I was thinking of heading to the south border for some rabbits?" He asks thoughtfully.

Cloudfur returned Lightingstrike's smile with a rather nervous one of their own.

"Thank you for understanding." They say quietly trying to keep themself from slipping into the 'don't speak' mindset they seem to sink into when they hunted or when other cats watched them do something.

"Oh lets do that! I haven't been on a good rabbit hunt in a while!" Cloudfur said eyes glistening with excitment.

Cloudfur, in their overjoyment, bounced around like a kit. They grinned at Lightningstrike before headbutting his shoulder.

"Rabbits!!" Cloudfur yelled before bouncing again their energy running rampant.


Cloudfur stopped with sudden realization of what they had done. A fiery blush raced upon their features as they tried to avoid the other's gaze.

"S-sorry." They mumbled before deciding to remain quiet for the rest of the trip.

After all what would Lightningstrike say to a warrior acting in such a way? Surely the other cat thought them stupid, or childish. Why would Lightningstrike want to hunt with them anyways; Cloudfur never spoke when they hunted and they acted like an overexcited kit. Surely they would think that Cloudfur didn't deserve their title.
