The fox stepped closer, and smiled broadly, showing slitted fangs. It spoke in the cat's own language, but it had a hissing, yipping accent. "Catsss," it said, licking its lips. "I haven't tasted caht blud in many a long season. Yhou vill not mind if I take the dying vhon, ov course. Zere is no hhhope lefft for herr. Too mucch blud lossst." He reached out a paw and placed it on Rosabelle's side, pulling the she-cat towards him. "I vill eat her, not leave mess. No rotting meaht, buried underground vhere it is ov no uhse."

Topazsky stepped forward, and growled. "You can't have her!"

Lilacfrost shook her head, gently pulling Rosabelle back.
"If she is dead, me must have a vigil for her at our camp." She meowed softly. Lilacfrost glanced sadly at the bushes, knowing Nightmare hid there. Her head dropped, and she slowly turned around, and tail on the ground.
"Take Rosabelle, we are leaving..." Lilacfrost murmured, slowly padding back to camp.

"Oh yess?" said the foz, leaning close to Topazsky and Lilacfrost. "Cahts, I ahm far faster than yhou. I ahm far shtronger than yhou. I chould keel yhou vith von bhyte. I ahm vehry hunrgy- I haff nhot eaten ihn three dahys." He sat back and pulled Rosabelle close to him again, picking her up by her slit neck. He spoke around her, his strange accent muffled, but brief. "I vill eat her vhether yhou like it or noht, caht. A mheal is a mheal- zis iss no thmye for cchivahlry."

A lean, chocolate brown figure jumped from and near by-tree and, with claws unsheathed, landed on the foxes back.

Lilacfrost's color changing eyes flashed red. She spun around, ignoring the pain in her stomach. Her claws and teeth flashed as she snarled.
"I'm sick and tired of it! I will not be bossed around anymore!" Lilacfrost spat. "I am powerless in my clan. Sure, I can receive signs from Starclan, but I can't do anything to help my own clan but heal cats, that end up dying anyway, like dear Rosabelle!" Her eyes flashed to her paws, and she turned around, ignoring the fact that Nightmare was right behind her.

((And I give 'ze foxx' permission to hurt Lilacfrost, just not enough to kill her. ))

Topazsky stared blankly at his sister, then at the cat on the fox's back

The fox bucked and rolled, dropping the mostly-dead cat in order to squash the little creature that had been so bold as to jump in his back. He got to his feet and shook it off like a flea, then snarled at the she-cat in front of him. "Yhou zshould have lhett mee gho vhile I vas villing to leave peacevully." He lunged forwards and snapped at her, but missed, grabbing the fold of skin at the back on her neck instead of her face. It was of no consequence- the larger animal tossed the she-cat aside, into the unforgiving trunk of an oak tree. He picked up his meal from the ground and gave the remaining cats a warning growl, then turned and slunk away into the bushes, leaving behind an obvious but uncaring scent trail.

Topazsky growled. "Oh no you don't!" he muttered, racing off after "vee fox" leaving one chocolate brown tom, and his sister behind.

Nightmare crept over to Lilacfrost, pushing his brown nose into her fur. "Oh great Felis, let her live!" he growled, nosing about her fur trying to tell if there were any open wounds

[XD STOP SAYING THAT- I ALMOST SNEEZED MILK ONTO MY LAPTOP Hahaha, and Rosabelle isn't dead yet ^^ Just sayin', though, whoever rescues her first has a pretty good chance of her crushing on them. Just sayin'.]

The fox was not unduly worried about this turn of events- the tom obviously had a fool's courage, and one cat versus one hungry fox... well, it didn't look good for the cat. Not with those odds.
