Hollowflight already knew what Spiritstar was going to announce, so he just laid in his nest in defeat.

Scorpiondance left her kits and looked up to Spiritstar. "W-What happened?" They're going to kick me out of the Clan because of what happened with Mangoshine! Blizzardmask must have convinced them that I'm a murderer at the Gathering! Fear pulsed through her.

Spiritstar took a breath. "Blizzardmask was murdered." he mewed not wanting to bead around the bush. "noone made an announcement about their clan when we found out. Minnowflicker left Oasisclan unable to cope with her loss. She left Venomsplash in charge. We decided to end the gathering so they may grieve with their loss." he mewed

Rosepaw shivered and pressed closer to the ground. A murder?

Scorpiondance felt as if all of the breath was sucked out of her. Dad is... dead? She felt salty tears form. I should never have left him... "Enjoy the kits," she whispered to Spiritstar. "I'm... going home." She left, grief clawing at her.

Bluekit sniffed. Where was his mother going? Her scent became fainter and fainter, and Bluekit's hunger was tormenting him. "Mrryyrr! Myyrrr! the newborn kit cried.

Spiritstar gasped. "take your kits. they aren't old enough to be left. i will get them when they are." he mewed.

Rosepaw whimpered. So much was going on! I thought today would be good, she whispered quietly, but it's not!

Squirrelpaw jumped up, hissing, unsheathing her claws. "Who-? Oh it's just you." Squirrelpaw relaxed slightly, though she still seemed tense.

Fernheart padded into the camp clearing. "Your just going to abandon your kits?" Fernheart mewed disbelievingly. "Your going to go off back to your clan and just leave them here?"

Breezepaw struggled under Hawkspirit. "Get off me already!" He hissed.

"Just take them," Scorpiondance whispered hoarsely. "Any one of your queens would be a better mother then I ever could've been. Those kits were never meant to be born."

Bluekit's crying increased. Where was his mom? Where was the milk?

Shinekit had fallen asleep, and therefore was unaware of the events happening around her.

Hawkspirit retracted his claws but didn't get off yet. "i need you to promise not to use your claws. we can't have apprentices clawing each other up for practice." he growled. with a final growl he got off him.

Bellaclaw gasped. the kits would freeze without their mothers fur around them. running over she curled around them. she lightly purred hoping to calm bluekit down.

Spiritstar shook his head. "fine. good bye scorpiondance." he said then turned back to his clan

Rosepaw sensed the privacy of the moment, and backed away. She stared into space. Murder? Death? Abandoned Kits? She longd for the timelessness of sleep, and dove into her nest, covering her face with her tail. She fell asleep remembering the cry of Bluekit as her mother left.
