Eagleleap nodded and led the way to the forest. he found a good spot and sat down. he lifted his head and took a breath to identify scents

Skyleaf followed more slowly but she made it to his side and sat down close to him only one tail length away as she began scenting the air. "I think there's a shrew over there," she mewed quietly.

"yep." he pointed with his tail. "over there is a mouse." he mewed he didn't like when Skyleaf was sad. It was her happiness that allowed him to be himself.

Skyleaf got to her paws and shook her pelt. She began stalking the mouse that Eagleleap had pointed out and oh so quietly she pounced. The mouse hadn't even felt her movements in the earth when she attacked. She gave it a killing bite and buried it.

Eagleleap watched as Skyleaf's lean body pounced and killed he got up and stalked her shrew. it was sitting there not noticing him when he landed on it and killed it quickly with a bite to the neck. he padded over to Skyleaf and dropped it into her hole. he looked away mischieviously

Skyleaf rolled her eyes amused, and thankful for Eagleleap's attempts at raising her spirits. She pawed his ear playfully before she licked her paw.

Eagleleap got up eyes smiling. he turned, bumped her, and padded over to catch another piece of prey. this time a squirrel

Skyleaf rolled her eyes and nudged him back before she began hunting a rabbit. She crouched, her body tensing until she was within pouncing distance. Then she pounced gracefully she gave it a killing bite before she tossed it in the air and caught it in her jaws. With a merry skip she padded back to Eagleleap.

Flashkit gave a small hist, clearly not enjoying his grooming. Feeling his mother purr, he settled down slightly, waiting for it to be over.
