Crystal woke slowly. Kruger looked down at her, with his ugly and evil grin. His eyes flexed on hers. "Leave me alone..." She whimpered.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you," he sneered and began to haul her limp and bloody body off into the darkened forest.

Bracken woke up to a dark moonlit sky and looked around him, he saw that Crystal was gone and that Krueger was also gone. He hurridley stood up and felt the pain in his back sear through him. He ignored it and ran to a bloody trail that led into the woods, he followed it jumping over rivers, logs and at last came to a cave. He smelt Krueger and Crystal but could smell other stale wolves scents. He crept in and saw Crystals blood leading down a passage way. He didn't go down but followed Krueger smell to a wide central cavern. he saw Krueger sleeping in a corner and advacnced towards him, without think about it he ran fulll pelt into him and bit into his neck blood seapedout as Krueger awoke but he was now dying and could only swat at Bracken gently. Bracken clawed at Krueger and let him bleed to death as he ran to where Crystal lay curled up trembling. Bracken nudged her but she didn't wake up so he bit into her scruff and carreid her carefully back to camp leaving sent markers so he could find his way back later to make sure Krueger was dead. He lay Crystal down in her bedding and curled up protectively around her licking her wounds and stopping the bleeding.

"B-Bracken...?" Crystal whimpered, trying to open her eyes.

Bracken licked Crystal and rested his tail on her flank "I'm here Crystal don't worry! Krueger is dead, I killed him. rest don't try to sit up, I'll get you some food and water." He uncurled him self and started padding towards the door.

"He's...dead?" Crystal whispered. She felt releif. And pain, her wounds felt like they were on fire and she winced.

Bracken was sure Krueger was dead but didn't want to tell Crystal that he wasn't 100% sure and worry her. He turned around and nuzzled her neck "Yes, he's gone." he stated. He saw pain in crystal's eyes and looked at her wounds. They were bleeding and very raw in colouring, he licked them and made sure they weren't bleeding before making his way towards the entrance again "I'll get some moss and cobwebs for your bedding and wounds and some food and water for you. I'll be back in about an hour, is that to long?" he asked gently.

"No," Crystal rasped, "I'll be fine."

Bracken was unsure about leaving her but didn't want to seem overprotective so licked Crystals muzzle and padded into the clearing where he licked himself a couple of times before following the scent markers he had left yesterday to the cave and went into the big cavern, Kruegers body was there bloody and dead. Bracken dragged it outside and buried it with little ceremony. Then he spotted a large rabbit and killed it swiftly, he dragged it to the river closest to camp and ripped up some moss from around a tree, he wet it in the water and then balled some up beneath his chin he padded back to camp with it and put it in the clearing he then ran to a tree covered in cobwebs and twisted some around his paw and then padded 3 footed to the camp where he went into Crystal's den with all the things. An hour had passed and she was sleeping. He nudged her awake and dropped the food and wet moss in front of her before replacing her bedding and gently padding cobwebs tightly on to her wounds all the time whispering to her that she was going to be ok, he was there and no one was going to hurt her.When he had finished he licked her and lay down next to her gently licking her and grooming her fur.

"Crystal, are you awake?" Bracken asked and nudged Crystal. It was the next morning and Crystals wounds were healing but slowly. Bracken looked at them and sighed "I hope it wont take long for them to get better!" he said and licked Crystal "I'm going to get some food, do you want some?" he asked.

Crystal nodded; she was starving. "Yes, please," she sighed.
