Summer swallowed hard, her face becoming hot when he said she made him feel weird. "Do you not like me around? Kiri, if you don't want me here just say the words and I can leave your life forever." She murmured. Even though you would stay in mine forever, engraved in my heart and soul. Your voice, your touch, your scent, your purr. She thought to herself. "Maybe you are a cheetah stuck in a leopard's body. What makes you think that?" She asked him quietly, watching his facial expression. "But honestly, I think you're you stuck in a leopard's body. You dare to be different, Kiri, maybe that's it. But in no way is that bad." Her eyes were calm but inside she was screaming. Shouldn't this be more romantic? Kiri and herself under the stars, her chilled, him confused.

Tanji nodded her head. "That sounds about right." She padded past him a little bit and turned back, curling her tail as she waited for Cruinne to join her. She twitched the skin under her pelt, disliking how the castings flattened her fur and made her sweaty, she would most likely take a swim, or just clean her pelt until her tongue was raw.

:Alena:
The leopardess's fur rose stiffly making her seem twice as big. The cheetah's actions had apalled her, 'How in the world was this cheetah so damn comfortable around here? Smack in the very heart of leopard territory, and with Kiri it seems hanging hesitantly on her tail like a cub? What in the world was going on?' A new thought shocked her, how int he world did she allow herself to get so out of the loop, when did that happen?' She unsheathed her claws and let them claw the cool earth at her paws creating long and jagged furrows. She hissed angrily at the image of the cheetah in her mind,but her words were directed to her leader as she spoke aloud,"How may I ask, did this happen? "Alena's words were soft but unwaveringly strong and direct. Other thoughts were creeping in, horrid, terrible thoughts that she'd always barely held at bay. They may be the reason she'd always been so alone, maybe...Alena steeled herself against them, knowing they'd soon crash upon her. An anguished growl escaped her and she took off after Cruinne and Tanji, hoping they wouldn't mind her company.

:Meran:
The cheetah sighed as he woke from a nap that had lasted longer than he'd thought it would, or should. He rose to his long limbls and stretched, rejoicing in the power he felt in his muscles and tendon and ligament...his very being. Meran finished and hastily gave himself a grooming with his pink tongue. He gazed around the camp. Enpty! He flinched instinctively, being alone was not always a good thing, and he'd never liked being alone espescially since his experiences alone had never benn pleasant, in fact they were violent. He took off from his place of shade, sneding up dirt and grass. He folowed his nose as it guided him to a member's scent, actually several. His spirits lifted a bit and he set off hurriedly after them, hoping to catch up.

Kiri slowly got his feet as he stepped onto the tree limb Summer had managed to creep onto. Being the skilled climber he was, it was easy for the leopard to sit next to her, nodding his head so she would somewhat have any idea that she could lean up against him. “Summer, I’m not quite sure how to explain this. I’ll probably use words you may not understand, so please bear with me.” He paused, moving his gaze to Summer’s eyes, “Um, well, it’s like. I feel like I was born a cheetah because I have complicated feelings for you way past the boundaries of explanation. And, when I look into your eyes beautiful brown eyes; all I see are two bottomless pits of love. It’s just like the stars; they are unknown mysterious waiting to be explored and discovered. Something we big cats can’t really grasp in our brains. You get what I’m saying?”

Summer smiled when he sat beside her, but it faded to a serious look when he started to speak. "I feel like I was born a cheetah because I have complicated feelings for you way past the boundaries of explanation." Her heart started to pound, this could go two ways, he could say he liked her, or that he hated her. But the gentleness of his words... It hypnotized her, she was transfixed, her blood pumping and her face hot. Her paws tingled in anticipation. "And, when I look into your eyes beautiful brown eyes; all I see are two bottomless pits of love. It’s just like the stars; they are unknown mysterious waiting to be explored and discovered." She blushed and looked away. "My eyes are beautiful?" She asked softly. "Pits of love... Just like the stars. I don't think I've ever heard a male think that deeply." She whispered. A cold breeze ruffled her fur and gave her a shiver. "I understand Kiri." She took his invitation, leaning into his pelt, feeling his warm body, his fur longer than hers. "I feel the same way. It's like whenever I'm around you I'm not the leader of the cheetahs. I'm me, I'm Summer." She murmured. "And your laugh, purr, your voice is like I've been stranded in a drought for months, living off of scarce prey and then I hear you, and it rains, everything flourishes, turns green. The ponds refill and the prey returns."

Kiri flattened his ears, “But you have cubs, Summer. You’re responsible for their lives. I’m not going to go run off with you and steal you from the few who actually need you. I’m sorry Summer, but that’s not the way I do things.” He gave a slight twitch of his tail. Somehow he had made the leader of Velocity fall in love with him. Did cheetahs always fall in love so fast? He hoped not, because if they did he would have some tough competition. At that thought, Kiri was overcome with a new feeling he’d never experienced before; jealousy. Just like how Summer had felt when she talked to Tanji. Now he could fully understand what was going through her mind.

He smiled; the full realization that she had become jealous hitting him. “Well, if we’ve got the night we might as well deal it well. You have to tend to your cubs with a full belly, right? How about a little one on one between you and me.” He grinned, a mischievous smile forming on his maw. He slowly jumped off the branch, landing firmly on the dirt. It felt great to have something so flexible beneath his claws again.

Over turning the dirt as he dug his claws deep into the dirt, Kiri taught Summer a short, quick lesson about coming down a tree, “Butt first. Your claws will have a better grip coming down the trunk of the tree.”

Summer looked at Kiri with deep thought in her eyes. "Kiri, I don't want to run away with you." She murmured down to him. "I only wish to be with you, to be around you." She choked up. "To not have to share. Greedy, aren't I?" She looked away listening to the lesson on how to get down. She nodded with a smile and clung to the tree, butt first and slowly inched down. Her short attention span made her leap about two feet above the ground but she landed gracefully. "You may be a cheetah at heart," She chuckled, "But I think you're starting to leopardify me!" She shoved him with her paw gently. "Hunting, eh? Sounds good, I never did get to try these casings." She pointed out, flexing her claws. "What would you like to hunt?" She asked him, her eyes caught in his. She was like a sailor lost at see that had been taken down by a whirlpool. "What if we run into the others? I don't want any hostility or to anger your tribe."
