She would nod. She would look at Pollenflower and Quickstream. "C'mon, we're going to gather herbs"

"Alright." He finished up the fish with Silentpaw and ran over to meet his patrol group. "You guys ready? Who's leading?" He smiled and puffed out his chest. "I s'pose that's me, huh?"

I overheard Willowsplash's and Littlepaw's conversation and walked over "don't worry Littlepaw, we'll find a name that suits you"

"As for you and me," She leaned on him. "Why don't we go for a short walk? Just for a bit so we can catch up..."

He smiled. "Of course."

"Alright, out we go then." She walked out the entrance matching her pace with Burningleaf's. They chatted for a bit when they heard a kitten growling at an eagle. "BURNINGLEAF, LOOK!" She shouted as she pointed to a scrap of fur attempting to dodge an eagle's claws in a large field by the barn. She turned toward him anxiously, "We have to help her!"

He saw the eagle as if it was moving in slow motion. As soon as his mate had finished speaking, he bolted out and ran to help the kit. As the eagle was swooping down, he pounced on top of it, nearly missing because of the height. It's just a bird, he told himself as it began spiraling towards the ground. He jumped off before it crashed, getting his footing in place, and then went for the neck of the great bird. It took longer than a pigeon or a robin, but the eagle was soon dead.

Silentphoenix swished her tail in sudden realization, showing no change of emotion on the outside. Larksong's betrayal had distracted her, Thrushwink, and Copperstrike from their real goal: avenging Sageleap. The murderer Ashlight was still out there, and could be a potential threat to CloudClan, and possibly the Forest Runners if any of the cats in either clan had gotten on Ashlight's bad side. She suddenly felt worried for Larksong, even though she still felt bitter towards her betrayer. I guess I'll just have to find a way to warn her without anyone, including Larksong, knowing.

"Grrr." She growled and pounced on the eagle's head as the large tom and she-cat saved her. "That's what you get for stealing MY meat, you stinky bird!" She wasn't trying to be playful and she genuinely understood the bird's tactics as though she's been through this before. "Thanks for the help. This ugly fellow has been quite annoying." She stood tall. "The names' Wrenkit."

He looked at Wrenkit, who was oddly calm about nearly getting eaten by an eagle. "I'm Burningleaf, and this is Rowanscar." He looked at Rowanscar. "May I ask what you're doing by yourself?"

She tilted her head, "I'm a normal kit whose parents are off on a trip. What's weird about that? I've been living in that squirrel nest-" She angled her head tilting towards a nearby tree. Rowanscar stared at her, "Um... so this bird has been bothering you and your parents are where exactly." Wrenkit sighed and slouched. "They've been gone since I opened my eyes, I s'pose they are on a trip, right?" She lifted her head and gazed at her nest. "I've been waiting in the same place since they stuffed me in there and now I go up and down to find carrion from what you leave behind." She moved her gaze to the rising sun. "I was raised by a wren who kept bringing me food... that's when I started getting my own food and I named myself in her honor, Wrenkit."

His heart broke at the kit's story. "Why don't you come with us? We have a big group of cats not too far from here, we all look after each other and there aren't nearly as many eagles." He touched his tail to Rowanscar's shoulder, remembering his promise to her with ease.
