...: If we can howl forever, together, then that will be my dream come true :...
...
Skye was crying in her sleep, curled up on the cold stone floor. She could not understand it -- why couldn't she wake up? There was blood pooled all around her, from her arm, and she felt very faint. Her white fur was cloaked in the scarlet liquid. She felt paralyzed, unable to move, and she could not make it out. She could not see the dream, but shrieks kept sounding in her head, and a black wolf would rise from the ashes. A shriek came out of her mouth, and she threw herself out of the dream, heart pounding, eyes wide. She was bleeding heavy, but everything was very blurry. She knew that she had lost a lot of blood, but she was alone. Was she destined to this cold, murderous fate?
It was Koju. He was the wolf in her dream. But just as she began to understand, she fell into the dream as a sleepy sensation went through her. She was weak, and was not moving, and her breaths were short and deep. In the dream, Koju was larger and more muscular with a mad look in his eyes. There were dozens of wolves behind him, cackling evilly as they rose. The fire blazed behind them, and Koju began to kill off her pack.
But something was different. He was different; full of confidence and pride. He no longer had that scruffy, bony look of a Loner, but the well-fed, proud look of a Leader. And then, Koju came close, and terrified her. He tortured her, and finally, she was dead. And that was when the dream suddenly stopped.
Skye weakly pulled her hand to her chest, feeling her pounding heart. She pushed into a sitting position, tears streaming down her face as she shook and shivered with fear. Like a coward, she shrunk into a corner. She was still connecting the dots of her dream. She did not know how she was even moving, let alone alive, with all of the blood-loss. She began to apply pressure to her arm, but as she did, she noticed a note close to where she had been asleep.
"What's this?" Skye murmured quietly, reaching to it. She opened the folded paper, and read it. A smile came across her face, and she had almost totally forgotten about her terrifying incident. Even a note from him telling her where they were going made her feel better. She did not want to frighten him when he came back, so she began to try and clean up some of the blood. After doing that, she sighed and looked around for something to tie her arm with. Like a bandage, or a cloth, or something... just to stop the bleeding. "Aha!" She smiled, seeing a cloth on the ground. She quickly tied it onto her arm, and then took it easy.
