Seeing that Evercloud was busy speaking with the other cats she shrugged her shoulders and waited patiently before hearing a comforting voice. Cedarsnow! Acornkit thought as she looked up to see her favorite tom. “Cedarsnow! Cedarsnow!” The kit mewed happily and bounced over to him, instantly giving the tom a nudge on his left leg. “Whatcha up to?” Acornkit asked excitedly. Cedarsnow had become a big part of her life after her mother passed, instantly taking her under his wing; he had become like a big brother to her. If any of the cats asked who her favorite cat was, it was Cedarsnow with no hesitation.

Cedarsnow

Cedarsnow purrs when Acornkit comes bounding up to him, and he raises one of his large paws to gently scuff her, playfully pushing her down. As much as it might look otherwise, he's always careful not to hurt the kit. Ever since her mother died, she has shown such resilience: she was going to be a strong warrior, and an asset to the clan. It was just such a shame that her life started out so roughly.
StarClan has something big planned for her. He can feel it.
"I wanted to see how you slept before I went out and caught you something to eat," he explains, a teasing look entering his eyes. "Since you're too small to catch it yourself."

She let out a light chuckle as she moved away from Spottedpelt so he could get himself back up. She felt more confidence build up within her every time she trained with Jaguarpaw. She didn’t take offense from Jaguarpaw mentioning her short hight. She may be small but she knew she could handle herself if she had to. “Alright, let Spottedpelt get ready before you try and get at him.”

She purred amused seeing him get excited about trying the move she just did. “Every cat may be different so you have to adapt each move you do.” She watched her apprentice seemed to always been with energy, maybe on their way back from training they could grab some fresh moss for Seeker and the nursery. “Timing and speed are a factor when trying to deal with any bigger opponent. Usually the bigger they are the shower they tend to be, using your agility as well can help when avoiding the moves that the other will try to inflict.”

Acornkit caught herself before she fell all the way, she instantly batted at Cedarsnow’s paw, gently of course. All while doing so, she was purring loudly. Acornkit got up onto her paws and intertwined herself between Cedarsnow’s legs, playfully trying to trip the tom. “I slept great! And hey!” She meowed loudly before batting at his legs once more. “I’m getting big enough, look at me.” Acornkit bounced infront of the tom, her head held high. “Only a little longer and I’ll be out hunting just like you,” She mewed happily.

The large tabby shook his fur out, a few leaves flying off of him as he did so. Glancing around the makeshift den of sticks and leaves and the like, he realized that he would have to go hunting today as he’d finished the last of his rabbit last night.

She nodded, still quite humored with that fact as she could picture it crystal clear. “I used to play this game called mossball, but I’m sure you two have heard of it.” She answered Slashkit, before carefully listening to Blinkkit and his questions. “No worries. And I’ll be sure to stop the game if it ever gets that far.” Evercloud spoke, feeling somewhat softened at the thought of a kit being worried that they could actively hurt her kits. She was almost sure that they wouldn’t be able to due to her thick pelt. “I haven’t really thought of any names for them. As for how many, I believe there will be three according to Dogface. But maybe when the times comes, you could help name them.” Her attention moving over to her adoptive kit, she’d quickly felt a twinge of guilt as she hadn’t responded to her just yet, but she noticed the warrior sticking his head into the nursery and couldn’t help her smile growing when she saw Acornkit so excited to see him. “Go play and try to keep from hurting Cedarsnow, Acornkit.” She called out, a slightly playful tone in her voice.

She gave the elder a curt nod, not having meant for anything to start already. At her mentor’s response, her already flattened ears nearly looked like they were pinned to her head. “And yet again, you don’t bother listening to me.” She muttered, wanting to ruin the herbs that she’d organized as Leafpelt left the den to get something. “No thanks.” Tinypaw answered, definitely still upset but she wasn’t going to continue this. She would be a medicine cat, she would have to learn how to deescalate situations like this. “What a good morning, right?” The tortoiseshell murmured to herself, leaving the den herself. She paused for a moment to continue walking through the camp, unsure of whether or not her sister was still in camp anymore. Perking her ears at the elder’s offer, she couldn’t help the small frown from forming onto her face for a split second before she had lightened. “I’m sorry for earlier. That was both uncalled for and unplanned, of course. ”

Cedarsnow lifts his feet, pretending to be stumbling around her as she winds under him. "Your mentor will have to keep a close eye on you to make sure something doesn't eat you," he teases, before he rolls onto his side with an exaggerated groan, pretending to have fallen. "Have mercy!" He cries, swatting at her in mock-defense.

Leaping ontop of the tom, she purred happily, “I’ve captured the beast!” Acornkit batted at Cedarsnow’s face gently. Her ears perked up as she heard Evercloud speak, she paused and looked over at her, listening. At first, she thought her adoptive mother was being serious before she understood it was a playful tone. “Yes mama, I’ll make sure to be gentle.” She purred happily before bouncing off Cedarsnow. “Can I go with you?” She asked, she knew it most likely would be “no” as it had been before; she still was hopeful. They smiled softly seeing that the apprentice seemed to feel a little better. They took a bite of the bird and sat down next to the apprentice. Their body starting to feel much better from the herbs that he was given. “I’m surprised that I’ve been able to make it this far in life.” They lightly chuckled as they looked at their paws a bit saddened.

“I’ve seen so many not make it this far, so many warriors and apprentices grow and pass.” They softly spoke not expecting much. They moved to lay down relaxing, “it’s strange watching life continue on. Starclan planning and watching over on silver pelt.” Their voice soft but slightly scratchy from their age. “Makes one wonder how long they have.” Their voice almost a whisper talking slightly to themselves.
