Sealpaw sleepily opened her eyes, yawning and slowly rising to stretch out her small legs as the world lit up around her. She was facing the outside of the warm den, to see thick snow and leaves rustling on the trees past the camp. The sound of the waterfall and quiet chatter of her clan mates in the clearing made her smile, before her ears swiveled backwards to a different part of the den and she whipped around, grinning. "Hi Newtpaw!" She whispered excitedly, careful not to wake the others as she'd accidentally done too many times before.
She stepped and hopped over her friend's limp, slumbering bodies and limbs to make her way to her best friend, now beaming as the tiredness seemed to just pour out of her. Sealpaw was always high energy, and it was almost concerning how quickly she went from dead asleep to wide awake.

Orca was already up and at 'em, lounging in a tree with his limbs dangling beneath him. He held a look of deep thought, his eyes gazing over the land that marked the north borders of Iceclan. His tail flicked behind him before he groaned in frustration.
"The last 3 attempts have done nothing. What should I do next, Vulture?" He asked as his eyes flickered up towards the sky, his mind swirling up the image of his deceased "father"- the cat that saved him from Iceclan's cruel talons as a kit. "I mean, last time I tried to mess with them all I did was help them find a rabbit's burrow filled with the dumb things." He pouted, talking to himself to on-lookers. But it got lonely, and imagining Vulture here was the best he'd have.
"And then the time before that, I accidentally alerted that patrol by snapping a branch when it turns out a hawk was in the sky." He grumbled, remembering his clumsiness- he had not been spotted, he never has been, but somehow, everything he did only seemed to help! Help! The thought made him groan louder, dropping his head against the bark beneath him. "What do I do now?" He said, his voice muffled by the wood he was smushed against.

Maplevalley had arisen just a bit ago, and he was still a bit sleepy after he'd finished his breakfast of a plump mouse. He had been planning what to do today in his mind since he woke up, and he finally decided that he should bring Newtpaw on a hunting patrol- he'd been giving her a lot of battle practice as of late, and felt it was time to switch it up with something different this morning. But that meant- his eyes glanced over at Hickoryfoot and Tundrastar talking to themselves, surely about plans for the clan that day. He knew that that meant patrols would be assigned, and he wanted to make sure he snagged a spot for him and Newtpaw, as she hadn't been on a proper patrol in quite a bit. He gulped, and shook his head to wipe out the rise of temperature in the tips of his ears. He's my deputy. You are a warrior. You want a patrol. Ask to be on patrol. That easy. He explained in his mind, trying to psyche himself up. He took a deep breathe. He wasn't sure when this had all happened, but it made conversing nerve-wracking for the gentle tom- he wasn't used to this.
He calmed his nervous-looking exterior down, before gently walking up to the pair on the otherside of the clearing, bowing his head firstly to Tundrastar. "Good morning Tundrastar," He said in his usual soft and elegant tone of voice. "Good morning Hickoryfoot." He tried to repeat in the same tone, his voice ever so slightly cracking at the end. Immediately embarrassed, he refused to externally show this, and instead carried on, telling himself it was just because his throat was dry and he needed water. "If you guys haven't already assigned patrols, I was hoping to volunteer me and Newtpaw so that I could take her out for hunting practice, since it's been awhile and I've been meaning to get her out there on another proper patrol." He explained, gently smiling and nodding towards the apprentice den, where he saw her and Sealpaw finally awake. He ignored the flipping his stomach was doing, and instead calmly sat in wait for an answer.
