βMorning,β Dawnshine called over her shoulder to Duskwhisker as he left. Her eyes continued to scrape across the herbs and berries; as far as she could tell, they werenβt lacking in anything else, but spare materials would never be unhelpful.
Satisfied, she sat back on her paws and shifted her focus to the apprentices. Fluffypaw still seemed to be the only one coherent enough so far to hold a conversation with, but that wasnβt of particular note to Dawnshine, who smiled at Fluffypawβs offer.
βYou three should eat up,β she agreed.
βIβll have to talk todayβs plans over with Duskwhisker, but Iβve got a couple things planned. So youβll want to have plenty of energy for that.βLikely not enough energy to match her ownβalready Dawnshineβs tail twitched behind her, and she was bouncing a little on her pawsβbut few cats did even with full bellies.
βBefore then, though, I trust you three to look after yourselves for a little while so I can go talk something over with Peachstar. Be good!βShe swept the tip of tail across their faces in a swift motion, a gesture both chiding and affectionate, before heading out. It didnβt take long to catch sight of Peachstar, and it took even less time to trot up to her.
βPeachstar! Good morning,β was her greeting, furβfluffy as it was to begin withβsubconsciously puffed out a little.
βI hope you have a moment. Stormtuft hasnβt assigned the patrols yet, has he? Because I was wondering if some warriors could be sent to gather some tansy and catmint.ββ MISTHEART

As she trotted downward, Mistheart couldnβt help but glance back up toward the warriorsβ den. More of her clanmates were leaving now, but it seemed Shatteredmoon wasnβt awake yet. Mistheart couldnβt help the slight dip of her ears. Odd as it seemed to think now, she missed him; before theyβd even been mates, theyβd once been friends, but now Shatteredmoon seemed barely capable of looking her in the eye, what few times they even came into contact now. She understood
whyβit hurt for her, too, and him hurting only worsened that feelingβbut it still stung.
Her attention was pulled away by a soft greeting to her side. Mistheart turned to find Beetleflightβs familiar dark furβbefore she could respond with more than a pleasant dip of her head, he went on. An amused purr rumbled gently in her chest at his nervousness. There was still a dull feeling at the back of her mind, but at least she could distract herself with conversations.
βItβs all right,β she said with a reassuring brush of her tail against his shoulder.
βI knew what you meant. I wouldnβt mind, no. Here.β With a couple of deft movements, she split a mouse in two and knocked the slightly larger half over to Beetleflight.
