Grumpy was crouched on the forest floor, ready to catch a mouse but it got startled when the bushes nearby rustled. Growling, he whipped around to see what it was, and took a step back when he saw a she-cat. She greeted him and he stiffened. Cautiously he stood where he was and raised his head at her,"...Hello, who may you be?"

Fern didn’t speak to Tiny. She was a bit annoyed at being followed by her. Instead she focused on copying Starr’s crouch. “How’s this?” She asked. She also made sure her tail stayed perfectly still. She knew one thing about hunting. Keep your tail still or prey could hear you coming. “My mom lets me hunt mice sometimes. I can’t wait to try this crouch out the next time we go hunting mice.” She said.

Uncrouching, he nodded. "Good tail posture, your fore-paws look okay for a start.." He used a paw to push them backwards slightly, his tail moved to make sure she didn't lose balance as he did so. He moved to her hind-legs, pushing the right forward an inch. "There you go." he turned to snatch a rock in his claws, and threw it an tail-length away from her. "Thats a mouse. Its intent on eating this seed," He threw a pebble at the rock. "The wind is blowing towards you. There are dry sticks surrounding you, making it to where you cannot move forward. Go." He took a step back, raising an eyebrow to watch.

I could always pounce but I don’t want to risk breaking any twigs... Fern thought hard for a solution. The wind would be in my favor though so no mouse can get my scent. Come on mouse brain you don’t want to keep Skarr waiting. Then again it’s just a tail length. I can do this! Crouching she kept her body low and when she was ready she sprang forward, her front paws stretched out as she placed them on the rock. Her rear paws were firm on the ground and her belly inches from the ground. “Was that okay?” She asked.

He watched the look of concentration on his face, flicking his tail. "Good, good." He replied, watching the strength in her spring with interest, for her size it showed promise. "Watch me." He waved her away, crouching in his style. Flicking his ear he sprung, forepaws stretching forward and hindpaws more of barely stretching. He reached the rock with ease, and landed heavily onto it. "And so, you did good. Lets go find a live animal to practice on. Remember, if you miss it, Im not going to nip your ears off." He teased, padding away into the undergrowth.
