Morning light filtered into the den as the sun rose on the horizon, shining like a vibrant amber eye. He'd seen cats with such beautiful amber eyes, it reminded him of the sun in that way. He'd often mention this aloud, often when he was flirting with another. Of course, whether they were charmed by his words or not was another matter in itself. The tom's lime green eyes fluttered open, blinking them slowly. His tail twitched in the slightest manner and his gaze flickered around at the other medicine cat and of course, the medicine cat apprentice. Swiping his tongue over his muzzle, he slowly rose to his paws and slipped out of his nest on silent paws. He didn't bother to check the herbs for the time being, he'd rather spend some time in camp first, before he actually got down to business.
Swantrail padded out of the medicine cat den, blinking as his eyes adjusted to the light. Not many cats were up and about it seemed, majority of them seemed to have just awaken from slumber or if they hadn't they had been up for quite some time. His tail swayed slowly as he glanced around, perhaps looking for a cat he could have a little fun with. He soon settled himself nearby the den, letting out a yawn as he began to tend to his pelt for the time being, occasionally glancing around the camp before returning to his work. It was always nice to look your best, even among fellow clanmates.

❖ ━━ GRAYWIND !!

Graywind had been up for quite awhile, his deep amber eyes blinking slowly as the sun rose on the horizon. He was always up early, though he didn't really have a reason for this being the case. He just woke up earlier than most and hated just lying in the den listening to the (mostly) quiet breathing of his fellow warriors. He let out a heavy breath and he slowly slumped down to lay down for the time being, his whiskers twitching as he gazed out into the distance. Often times while he was out here, he used this quiet time to think. It had been less than a moon ago, since the mysterious death of Sandstar. It had been quite clear he'd been murdered. The question was by who. He always had felt a sense of dread every day, serving a clan such as this one was quite draining if he was honest. He always had to watch his back, he remembered being terrified of his mentor as an apprentice, but of course he never had let it show. Somehow, he managed to survive. But somehow it didn't feel like a great feat either.
The tom wondered what he would do about this. Great StarClan, why? He asked the stars above, that had since disappeared as the sky turned from black to a purple, to a pink and then an orange color. He didn't understand why no one had done anything about this - not even their ancestors. Why were they given powers in the first place? To become bloodthirsty monsters that would hunt down their own clanmates, just to gain more power? He shuddered at the thought. Whoever had killed Sandstar must have more power than anyone in the clan - he glanced around warily, his ears twitching. Who could it possibly be? Could it be one of his own clanmates? It had to be. He didn't think an outsider could have done it - outsiders didn't have powers as far as he knew. As cats began to rise and exit their dens, he couldn't help but move closer toward the shadows. He didn't like his life - he wished he had another. He wished he could change it - but there was no way that was even possibly it seemed.

✷ ━━ DAPPLEPAW !!

As the sun rose, Dapplepaw was huddled in her nest not even daring to move. She had been awake for a little while, though hadn't bothered to move for fear of waking one of the other apprentices. She hated the mornings, morning marked another day - another fearful day. She couldn't sleep peacefully at night, since she was always thinking about if someone happened to attack her in her sleep. Of course, she could give them a nasty shock if they did - but she didn't want to use her claws like that if she could help it. She didn't like the idea of harming another. Dapplepaw's eyes were wide as she gazed out of the den entrance, seeing a few forms moving around. It must be dawn which would mean patrols and such would be leaving soon.
But she didn't want to go out there - while her power certainly could be dangerous (even deadly to small, weakly things like mice though not really to cats), she knew there were plenty of others out there that had even more dangerous powers. Dangerous cats that she would rather not be around. Then again, a few of the apprentices had dangerous powers too. Really, Dapplepaw saw just about every power as dangerous in one way or another. Before long, she quietly rose to her paws and quickly dashed out of the den, her amber gaze flickering around for a moment before she ducked away from sight, hoping to keep hidden until her mentor showed up. At least, her mentor seemed nice enough, but even with that she couldn't make herself fully trust her.
