" T h a t would be good," Jaguarstar said, dipping his head. "I think I'll ask Spottedstorm to come along. It looks like she and Whitetail have just about finished eating." He flicked his tail towards the two, to show Pythontail what he was talking about, before heading towards them. The leader's movements were graceful and well-calculated, his paws light on the ground as he headed towards them. He slowed as he drew closer, suddenly wondering if this were a bad idea. Things seemed...tense, between the mates, to say the least. He wondered if perhaps he should change his mind. No, warrior duties come first, Jaguarstar. You just told Pythontail where you were going. Just be firm in your decision, for once. With a frustrated lash of his tail, Jaguarstar padded straight up to the two - only to see Spottedstorm head away from him. He trotted to catch up with her. "Spottedstorm!"

C a n o p y p a w tipped her head. "Well...maybe we can go hunting," Canopypaw said. "I'm pretty hungry, and the sooner we feed the Clan, we can eat!" She pranced from paw to paw, excited to head out. "I don't want to hunt with Toucanpaw again, though. Sometimes I feel like we train together all of the time! I know we became apprentices together, but there are other cats that I can learn to work with, too!"
The apprentice's tail stood up, pleased that Rockrose had approached them. "That sounds like a good time," she said, glancing up at Sunleaf, hoping her mentor agreed.

T o u c a n p a w tipped his head thoughtfully. "You've got a point, though," he said, seeming to calm down. "I didn't even try to talk to her. I just stalked over here as soon as she told me to get something to eat."

P i r a n h a t a i l dipped her head. "I'll likely go out after a nap," she told him. "I haven't been hunting in, well...moons." That was the truth - Piranhatail had been on night shift with Pythontail since the Mambastride was given an apprentice. Jaguarstar had chosen to begin his training during the day, as that's what a cat was used to. Now, though, she hoped that they would swap soon, so that she could sleep during the night: to see the sun rise and set and sleeping through neither. "How is it? Being deputy, I mean," Piranhatail asked, drawing herself back from her thoughts. "I remember when you were announced. Jaguarstar hasn't been leader long, but I feel as if he takes a lot...advising. He's been in the medicine cat den more than a few times for something serious since he's gotten his his title. That must take a toll on you."

T a p i r f o o t led the two, letting Lochpaw speak with Peacockpaw. He was glad she got along with the other apprentices - they had to. Being trained together meant that their hunting and fighting techniques were built around one another. Having arrived, Tapirfoot dipped his head. "We're ready to leave when you are," he told Rockrose, then turning his gaze towards Sunleaf to wait on the tom's response.
