Appleleaf hesitated for a moment, noticing a strange twist of nervousness in Dewstep's face. However, she wasn't a cat to push others for more than necessary, and let it slide. She nodded in response to the warrior and left the patients' sector, weaving her way to the herbs section. When she arrived, the medicine cat examined her storage of herbs until she selected several of the plants for her remedy. Smiling in satisfaction, Appleleaf wrapped the selected medicine in a large leaf and carried it back over to Dewstep.

Setting the bundle of herbs on the ground next to her patient, the leaf unraveled itself to reveal small amounts burdock root, dock leaves, catchweed, and stinging nettle. Before Appleleaf applied the herbs however, she looked down at Dewstep with her copper gaze and began to explain the herbs she had picked out for her paws, "I believe that a combination of burdock root and dock leaves will help soothe the reaction," she began, "Both herbs will help soothe and heal your paws. The burdock will also numb the pain, and the stinging nettle will help bring down the swelling." She chewed up the burdock, dock leaves, and nettle and gently applied the mixture to each paw before securing the poultice with catchweed burrs. "Alright," Appleleaf meowed when she was finished, "Stay in camp today please. No hunting for you until the reaction has cleared," the medicine cat instructed. "Try to minimize walking so you don't risk rubbing off the poultice, but if you must walk, make sure to step lightly. Come back here tomorrow so I can ensure the treatment is working."

"Very well, thank you. And yourself?" Magpieflight kept his gaze straight ahead as he walked and talked, always keeping an eye out for prey.

S t o r m p a w jumped to his paws, following after her without a moment of distraction. He gave himself a quick shake as he followed her, pulling himself up to be trotting along directly beside her. "Why are we going to the medicine cat den, Honeypetal? I'm eager to get out of camp - the sooner I hunt, the sooner I can eat!" He padded alongside her with pride. Honeypetal was exactly the mentor he'd needed - the tom was always up and ready to serve his Clan, and she was brilliant in training him. He had followed her example thoroughly, and she would see it when he was a warrior; his goal was to be ready to act as soon as the Clan needed him, to be able to be one of the first cats to volunteer for patrols, and to hopefully one day teach an apprentice everything she'd passed down.

F i n a l l y , Bianca felt herself awaken. The sleek brown tabby rolled in her comfy, soft nest, stretching out each of her paws on turn. She sat up and began grooming her pelt. With a yawn, the she-cat rose from her nest and trotted towards her food dish. Her Housefolk had put out a tin of food for her. She began to eat, purring lightly, enjoying it. She hardly touched the kibble her Housefolk kept out for her constantly, but twice a day she was given a can of food, which she devoured hungrily. Soft and tender, running with tasty juices, she had no problem finishing it off. The queen began to groom her paws, swiping them over her muzzle to clean it. Finally, she was satisfied.
Stomach full and fur tidy, Bianca padded towards her cat-flap. She slid out into the Housefolks' garden, the scent of the sweet herbs they grew touching her tongue. She leaped up onto the fence, gazing out into the forest. Often, she explored there, now that the strange scents had gone away. She always made it home before dusk, as to not worry her Housefolk - and, truthfully, the dark scared her. Curiously, her green eyes scanned the forest for movement. Seeing nothing, she leaped off of the fence, heading towards the forest.

indentDovestream gave a warm smile as Darksun accepted her invitation. She then blinked as she heard Graytiger call both her and Darksun's names from across the camp. Her ears twitched as she turned her head to look over at the tom. She then turned her head to look back at Darksun, "I mean, I am fine with it as long as you are!" she purred. Without awaiting a response from Darksun, she headed over to Graytiger and Ripplewhisper.

indentLittlefang was slightly impressed over Bramblepaw's sense of control. He seemed to be doing just fine, and Littlefang couldn't help but wonder how well his own apprentice would perform this task. He gave a small nod of his head to Bramblepaw's commands of heading deeper into the woods and then splitting up. "Seems like a great idea to me," Littlefang reassured the apprentice. He knew that if he was in Bramblepaw's paws, he would long for some reassurance from a warrior. Perhaps it wasn't as meaningful coming from Littlefang, as he was quite young compared to some of the warriors, but hopefully, it had helped at least a little.

He trotted away from BreezeClans camp, as he didn't want to start anything, even if he didn't know what was there. Appleleaf dipped her head in respect for the she-cat, "You're welcome," she said politely, "You are welcome to leave if you wish." Without saying another word, the medicine cat turned and left the patients' sector. While on her way back to the herbs sector, she glanced out of the den entrance to see if she could catch Fadedpaw coming back, but didn't see her. Blinking her copper gaze, Appleleaf proceeded onward to the herb sector and resumed her sorting, taking new mental notes of the quantities of the herbs she had just used.

Lilacfeather followed the tom's gaze to the sky, which was slowly but surely clearing up. The light drizzle had nearly come to a stop altogether and the clouds were beginning to part. "Thank StarClan," she said with a sigh. The rain always made her long, thick fur feel heavy and took forever to dry, and she couldn't help but envy Grousewhisker's short pelt at times. "You must be proud of Newtpaw," she changed the subject, keeping her voice low. "He's nearly a warrior."

"Oh, I bet something will," Magpieflight replied, his voice smooth. "Something always does." He halted suddenly when the scent of rabbit hit his nostrils, and immediately dropped into a crouch, signaling with a twitch of his ears for Tinybear to be quiet. As he stalked through the undergrowth, pawstep by pawstep, the rabbit eventually came into sight. It was a plump little thing, nibbling on a blade of grass. Keeping low to the ground and being careful not to step on anything that could alert the prey of his presence, Magpieflight inched closer, until he was within a fox-length of the creature and pounced, landing squarely on its back. The rabbit barely had time to react before Magpieflight sank his teeth into its neck, killing it instantly.

As the patrol set off, Morningpaw followed at the rear. His ears perked slightly when Littlefang began talking to him and he turned to look at the tom. "Oh, I don't mind waiting," he assured his mentor. "Honestly." He noticed Quailleap move to the head of the patrol with Bramblepaw, and tilted his head slightly. "Hey, Quailleap," he called to the older tom. "Can you come back here with me? I need to ask you something."

Softfrost stuck close to Shrikewater's side, looking expectantly at Locustsight. He flattened his ears at her...hostile disposition. He couldn't hear her tone, but he could see it in the way her lips curled upwards when she spoke, the glare in her narrowed amber eyes, and the way her tail tip flicked to and fro in annoyance. She seemed rather dismissive, having only spoken a few words to Shrikewater before bounding off without even waiting for a response. He looked questioningly at Shrikewater, partially as if to ask what had gotten into the deputy's fur and partially to ask what she had said. When she nodded in the direction of the departing patrol, he nodded back, and began to pad after them, making sure Shrikewater was right behind.

"We could," Minkface conceded, a small smirk taking place on her face as she sat down, showing that she had no intention of going up herself. "Well, go on, then. It was your idea."

"That's fine by me," Darksun replied, quickly padding after the she-cat. She greeted Ripplewhisper with a small nod. "Morning, Ripplewhisper."

"Great!" With that, Graytiger led the two she-cats back to where Ripplewhisper was waiting. "Alright, if we're all ready, then follow me!" Waving his tail, he led the way out of camp.

Ferretclaw opened her mouth to retort, but Hazelflurry interrupted and that seemed to shut the apprentice up. Oh, there's no need for Blizzardclaw to take care of you, she thought what she would've liked to say. I can do that myself. She shot one last glare at the apprentice before turning back around, relieved that Weaselshadow had taken over, and fell in step beside him. "Sounds good to me," she said with a nod.
