Snowpaw yawned softly lifting her head from her nest. she blinked softly looking around not seeing her mentor. Snowpaw got up and padded around the den huffing at herbs out of place, she growled loudly at the mess. she started to put the herbs away into there right places growling and huffing.

He opened his eyes watching the darkness showing outside of the warrior's den, not really sure if he liked their ways or not, sometimes he just hated the all-time darkness. So, of course, he did hunt and get out for a small walk-in day times as well, but sometimes it was just so boring as most of the clan was always sleeping.

She was being awakened for hours by now and enjoyed the views when the sun disappeared under the earth, or so it seemed to her.
Sighing she looked over to her mentor there talking with the leader there and even a shadow near the medicine cats den which was Hailnight showing up. It was kind of weird when the most other animals go to sleep the Moonclan wakes up, luckily to them there where still some night time animals to catch at, another way they could die for hungry,

Looking at Lightpaw "hm? you have a more love life than both of us together you say? then how is the lucky one to steal your cold heart?" he meowed giving a small playful poke to the she-cat "do I know him...her?" he asked. He rolled his eyes at Leopardpaw "yeah yeah...sorry but I am a little bit lazy in the morning, it's not my fault...it's just my nature... I guess" he meowed thinking his own words.

He watched as Snowpaw brushed past him and padded into the clearing of camp. Hailnight followed after her and stood in front of her, smiling kindly. He had taught her a little bit about dealing with her deafness, but she had managed mainly on her own. "Good night, Snowpaw," Hailnight greeted and enunciated clearly for her.

A laugh escaped her when she heard Leopardpaw sneeze. "Maybe you don't know what beauty is in front of you," Lightpaw teased and batted her friend playfully. "Handsome? I doubt that, Mosquitopaw! Besides, your personality isn't the greatest either," she joked and stuck her tongue out. The calico almost fell over when Leopardpaw bumped into her, and she followed the other apprentice.

indentation Hunger clawed at his belly almost before he'd woken up. He didn't recall the last time that he'd eaten. He spent most of his time out hunting and pushing his prey toward queens and elders, and those weaker than himself, insisting that they needed to eat more. He'd always been lithe, but now his bones were beginning to show through his spotted pelt and his blue eyes were duller.

indentation He rose from his nest and immediately padded toward the cave entrance. He'd stay out all night to hunt. Maybe if he caught something, he'd let himself eat a couple mouthfuls today. Had he eaten the day before? He didn't remember. He also didn't remember to pause and ask if he was wanted for a hunting or border patrol. Instead, he padded out into the cool night air alone, tail held stiffly behind him.

indentation His paws ached from many days of continuous hunting. He searched all night for prey and returned just before dawn to go to sleep immediately, whether or not he'd caught anything that night. He was single-minded in his determination and focus. It was all he had now, after all. He'd split with his mate not long ago, for they'd gone several moons without the blessing of kits and it was suspected that he was the problem, that he'd never have the ability to father kits. And so she'd gone and taken another mate immediately and lo and behold, all was well. And it stung to see this every day. So he stayed out of the cave during waking hours and kept himself busy. It was more tolerable this way.

indentation He woke up late. He had overslept and he was tired. Windchaser rose from his nest and stretched out his legs before padding out to the camp entrance. The few remaining bats skittered out and into the open air and a small part of him imagined leaping upward with claws outstretched to snatch one from the sky. With prey so scarce, it should surely have been an option? Just try to pick off a couple bats here and there?

indentation He deliberated on his options, studying the cave entrance thoughtfully. Surely there was some way to get up high enough that they could reach a couple of bats to eat them. Many of the bats were small, but it was better than starving, right? It was alarming to see his Clanmates almost as skinny as he was. At least he had the valid excuse of chronic illness for why he was so scrawny.

indentation In some ways, he was more accustomed to malnutrition and pangs in his belly, although his often weren't hunger ones. He vowed to step it up and try to help more with his Clanmates. It was only fair, surely. They had taken him in as a sickly kit and given him food and herbs countless times through his bouts of illness, bringing him through each time. He appreciated the care but resented each instance all the same, for he was determined to not be dependent.

indentation He had, at least, gone a moon and a half since his last bout of illness. The bad ones seemed less frequent as he got older, but he occasionally still had small flare-ups. He was always cautious upon rising for the night, assessing if he thought he'd have a good night or not. Tonight, he wasn't so sure of, but that wasn't going to stop him. He had a Clan to feed and he ensured he steered clear of the medicine cat den. They were already familiar enough with him and his issues.

indentation The worst part of every day was waking up and embracing that it was time to go make a fool of himself again. He hated training with a passion. He'd embarrassed himself for twelve moons now as the most pitiful apprentice his Clan had ever seen. He messed up simple battle moves with far less experienced apprentices, watched several of his denmates earn their warrior names before him, and fumbled on easy catches during hunting practice.

indentation Emberpaw peered out of his nest worriedly. Scorchstar hadn't called for him. She doesn't want to take me training either. She's tired of the disappointment. She should have just exiled him when it became apparent that he wouldn't amount to anything. His tail twitched uneasily and he drew a deep breath, forcing himself to leave his nest. He was disappointing enough without forcing his mentor to drag him out of his nest.

indentation He approached with his usual level of timidness. Even if Scorchstar didn't say anything negative, Emberpaw was ever-ready for that to change. He was a sturdy, well-built tom and he tripped over his paws as he approached, tail dragging across the cave floor. His voice squeaked slightly as he spoke. "W-What're we doing today?" He prayed that he could do something simple like collect moss or go hunting by himself. At least if he screwed up alone, there wasn't anyone there to witness it. Still, he was halfway decent at hunting when he was alone. Unobserved, he managed to bring in a morsel of prey more than half the time.

She was watching around the camp starting to get bored, her eyes looking toward the noisy apprentices there with her brother, then noticed her mentor there mostly alone. Stretching her legs she walked to her "Hello Lavenderhaze, any plans for today?" she asked at her, giving a quick look around the camp once again "are any patrols going out yet?" she asked.

"Yes, would you like me to go with you?" he asked patiently and didn't mind her slurred words. The medicine cat considered letting her go and staying behind with Pigeonpaw. The apprentice was still healing, but he was unsure as to when his hearing may or may not recover. Perhaps it would never recover fully for Pigeonpaw. At her question, Hailnight briefly glanced at the camp entrance and murmured, "I haven't seen anyone come back."
