Minnowleap gave Crystalrain a nod as she responded before giving Rustpelt a little smile. She had to admit to herself that he was a handsome tom. She shoved the thought out of her mind “Thank you. Shouldn’t be long. I’m sending out two patrols, the other one is patrolling the opposite side of the territory and we’ll be going along Meadowclan’s border.” she said before stealing a glance towards Thornstep.

She hoped his patrol went well, the tom was younger. A newer warrior, but figured this would be the perfect opportunity for him to seize his new duties and prove himself. She flicked the tip of her tail before turning back to the cats that were on her patrol. With the apprentice also tagging along, if she so wanted to, they had a good enough size patrol. For a moment she wondered what she was supposed to be looking for on their territory, but didn’t question it. Leopardstar had her reasons, and it wasn’t something she should be questioning. “Well, we can head out whenever unless you have business to finish here or if you want to eat first.” she said, flicking her ear as she waited for her clanmates’ response.

Toadpaw followed beside his mentor, enjoying the moment of quiet besides the wind that whistled past his ears. He never got a chance to just... quietly observe the territory he lived in.

Once they finally got to the battling area, he paused, listening to his instructions before giving a nod of understanding. As he watched Tangleclaw turn around, he dropped into a stalking position. He slowed his breathing, the breaths dropping silently from his mouth. His eyes remained glued to the back of his mentor’s head, watching his movements closely. Slowly, the young tom creeped forward, placing his paws silently on the ground. After a bit of calculation, he sprinted forward, leaping onto the warrior’s back. Reminding himself to keep his claws away, he tried to wrap his paws around his neck and attempted to throw Tangleclaw’s balance off.

"I hope so too. Leopardstar and Minnowleap might already be starting to worry." The molly said with a soft sigh as they continued forward.

"I see." Rustpelt gave a nod at Minnowleap's explanation, though he wasn't quite sure why two patrols were necessary. Sure, there were rumors of Meadowclan cats crossing to their territory, but Rustpelt didn't want to believe those... His gaze followed Minnowleap's to catch Thornstep leading a patrol out of camp. Ah, that must be why! He thought with somewhat relief. "Oh, is it because Thornstep is leading his first patrol? I'm sure he'll do fine." Rustpelt looked to Minnowleap kindly. She's so caring of others, looking out for younger cats...

Rustpelt almost didn't catch the deputy's last response, too caught up in his own thoughts. "Oh, no, I'm ready to go whenever. I prefer to eat in the evening, anyway." The tabby replied, his tail flicking lightly beside his white paws.

Crow licked his lips with satisfaction after enjoying his freshly-caught meal and rolled his tongue over his white paws a few times, as well. Ah, best I get going then. These clan cats move around in groups, don't they? Hmph, that's no fun! He thought to himself as he rose to his paws, giving his back a comfortable stretch as well before starting to scratch a bit of earth over the sparrow remains.

Tangleclaw kept his ears sharp for any noises Toadpaw might make, and was satisfied to hear none just before the younger tom pounced on his back. Even as he was expecting it, Toadpaw still landed with enough strength to make him lose a bit of balance. In response however, the dark-striped tabby trashed and shook his body wildly in an attempt to weaken Toadpaw's grip and throw him off of Tangleclaw's back.

Mistflower purred softly at Brindleclaw and nodded her head contently. "Perfect, I'll see you then tell Minkpaw he's coming for me too," she told the younger warrior before she went inside of the warrior den to have a nap. She knew she needed it if they were going to be doing more patrols over the next few days, her leading probably quite a bit of them.

Weaselpaw purred softly as he was praised by his mentor and glanced at Mistflower, bowing his head once she left them. The tom followed the other back to Wildtail and his brother. "You think I could beat Minkpaw? He always acts like he's tougher than me," he mumbles to his mentor before they got back to them. "I'm fine Brindleclaw, I can eat after do a little hunting after training even." He wanted to make it known he could do it all; fight and hunt. He was still working on his tracking skills though, it was something that could come in handy with the loners coming in and out of the territories.

Stagpaw had sighed and nodded her head once, appreciating her attention from Fadepaw. "Yeah I hope so..." She let out another sigh before she saw Lionfrost had came back to camp. "I hope he wants to take me out training now that he's back... As they were exiting the camp, his ear twitched hearing his name and stole a quick look at Rustpelt. Why would anyone worry about him leading his first patrol? I’m sure Leopaedstar has been worried for awhile though.”

With a sigh he thanked Finchfoot for her offer to keep an eye out for his apprentice and let her on her way. Taking another look around the camp he still saw no sign of Gnarlpaw. Echosnow wandered his way back to his den, intent on organizing the new herbs that they had gathered the previous day. It was calming and helped him to think more clearly about what herbs he had to gather later in the day. He would deifinitely have to find some borage leaves and he was low on dock leaves as well. Echosnow was enjoying his time with these silent herbs as he took note that some more cobwebs would not hurt either.

With a quiet purr Hollowfrost nodded to the tom, "We can practice fighting and then hunt on our way back." He was intent on not being out for too long, but wanted to teach Sparkaw some techniques for fighting in areas near the river where it was more marsh-like. "We can take time practicing your fighting near the river. It's always good to be able to stand your ground in different conditions." With that he turned and headed toward the camp entrance and waited for Sparkpaw to follow after him before heading toward the river.

While she waited with Minkpaw Wildtail thought about the possible things she could teach them. Before she could decide on any one thing Weaselpaw and Brindleclaw made their way over. "Hello to you as well Brindleclaw." She looked to Minkpaw at the question of eating, when he said no she gave a nod. "Then I believe we are ready to head out. I'm fine with training wherever you would like to." She was excited to let the two brothers spar with each other as it would be interesting to see how each of them were doing with their training. It would also be a good way to see how she was doing herself as a mentor in general, hoping that she had taught him well enough so far.

"Hunting! Alright, that sounds like a great plan!." She was clearly more excited than needed this early in the day. "We can get a lot of practice in." Stonespirit took a moment to stop for once and think about what they could do after they went out hunting for a little while. It hit her that they should go on a patrol, as it would be great to get out of the camp for a while longer. She hated being cooped up in camp and loves to go out and explore, similar to a kit, but with more caution. "Afterwards we can go out for a patrol after eating and taking a break. But of course we need to find Mistflower and ask about joining the patrol. Well then, let's get heading out." She turned and headed out, walking at a slower pace than normal, but still with a bounce in her step, so that Amberpaw could catch up to her.

Waking up in the morning has never been a specialty of Ghost's, but she still woke up. She was hungry, which would explain waking up earlier than usual. Standing up she stretched out and gave a yawn to try and wake herself further. With a glance around the outside of the bushes she had fallen asleep under she sniffed the air. There were no fresh scents of predators or other cats so she stepped out and shook herself to get any leaves or twigs out of her fur. She groomed a few areas where fur was standing up to smooth it out. Afterwards she tracked down a plump mouse and crouched down. Waiting for it to move itself a bit closer, she then pounced and managed to catch it, if just barely. Ghost moved to the base of a tree before laying down and starting to eat the mouse.

Minnowleap let another small smile fall upon her muzzle as Rustpelt spoke and nodded her head "He'll do great, I'm not worried." she responded. She didn't argue against that being the reason for two patrols, she didn't need to explain why there were two. And, even if someone wanted an explanation, the truth was that she didn't have one. She stole a quick glance at the camp entrance before turning back to her clanmates and gave a final nod "Then we might as well head out," she added, her tail hovering a bit higher as she mentioned leaving.

Otterfoot padded back into camp, a mouse dangling limp from his jaws. He had risen early, and his paws itched to leave camp. So, naturally, he went hunting. He dropped the mouse onto the freshkill pile before scanning the camp with an emotionless gaze. He wondered where his apprentice had gotten himself off to, thinking that maybe they could do some battle training. After not spotting the younger cat right away, he settled down towards the center of camp. He licked his paw and swiped it over his ear before laying down, his tail curving up against his side.

Toadpaw let out a small chirp of annoyance as Tangleclaw began thrashing about, but managed to keep his hold on the warrior's back. Quickly, the apprentice threw his body weight to one side of his mentor, still keeping a tight grip. His thought was that if he could keep a hold of him, and throw his weight to one side, an unsuspecting cat would lose balance and follow the direction he had gone, right?

"Lead the way then." Rustpelt replied with a pleasant smile as Crystalrain joined their company with her apprentice, Fadepaw. Truthfully, the tabby tom would have prefered to go on patrol alone with Minnowleap. It's not that he disliked either Crystalrain's or Fadepaw's company, just the thought of confessing his feelings to Minnowleap had been lurking in his head for a short while now. What would she say? Would she feel the same towards me? He wondered, but had to shake the thoughts out of his head for now and focus on the patrol ahead. Maybe some other time... at a better time... His doubts kept him at bay, for now.
