It was a shock to both of them when Tigerstar became deputy first. "I'm very sure, and I don't mind going out of camp," he comforted calmly and brushed his tail against her flank.

She made her way out of the warrior's den when the sudden yelp from her den mate startled her so that she almost jump to the roof. She flattered her ears and looked over to the tom "seriously?" she hissed lightly trying to calm her bouncing heart, not really even getting what just even happened.

Mistflower calmed down shortly after Tigerstar spoke and gave his tail a lick before she nodded. "Alright if you say so my friend," she told him. She remembered the day that the other was announced as deputy, it was right about the time she was getting ready to have her kits. It was unexpected that the prior deputy had decided to retire but it wasn't much of a choice of them as their eyesight was going, she was upset but it never would affect their friendship.

Weaselpaw let out a soft playful hiss when his brother stated the only reason he was swift was because of him. "Not true at all and you know it! I'm keen on battle training because we have those annoying Waterclan cats as neighbors. And I want Mistflower to be proud of me! You know how the others look to us because we are the deputy's sons," he sighs and shakes his head some. It wasn't a lie but he was worried about the loners at least a little bit even though their clan had amazing fighters in it.

"Thanks I never quite thought about that, I'll see if Lionfrost and I can work on that soon." When the other she-cat mentioned she was the oldest apprentice, she frowned even though it was true and she didn't know why she hadn't been made into a warrior yet. "I hope so soon... I keep thinking Lionfrost is going to talk to Leopardstar but they haven't."

Thornstep nodded to his directions given to him by Minnowleap and sighs, knowing that the deputy was clearly hiding something. It was fine though the tom understood that she couldn't share things with him on why it was happening, or even if Leopardstar was hiding things from her a well. The tom looked around the camp, noticing a few apprentices were waiting for their mentors and even a pair that was together. "Nettlefern!" He called out to her before racing past Crowpaw, giving him a quick nod in greeting. He smiled a bit at the she-cat and purred softly, "I don't want to interfere with training but I'm about to lead a border patrol and if you two come I'll help out with training?" He tried to suck up a bit to the other, he never had anything against her for leaving her born-clan like some of the other clan-mates after all he wasn't entirely sure of his history himself.

Crowpaw lept to his paws, and spun around, searching until he spotted Starlingvine. “You’re right!” He exclaimed to Sparkpaw. “I’d better go see her!” He raced away abruptly, leaving Sparkpaw alone with the minnow. “Starlingvine!” He called out to her before he was even halfway to reaching her.

seated relatively close to the warrior den, starlingvine swiped her paws at the small pieces of moss stuck to her shoulder, flicking it to the ground. as much as she appreciated the bedding, definitely during colder weather, it was so annoying getting it out of her pelt; times like this, she was glad that her hair was of a shorter length. the molly shut her eyes and exhaled deeply after hearing her name in the lips of no other than crowpaw. she was indifferent to the tom but surely, he had some sense not to be so loud this early. I'll lead one in the other direction along the Waterclan border, I was thinking of taking Minkpaw and Brindleclaw," she spoke to the others, "maybe should leave for those around sunhigh. I know there wasn't anything quite yet and I'll order a hunting patrol and let them know to report back if they see anything."

Minnowleap swept her gaze over the gathered cats, her eyes landing on Starlingvine. She was currently speaking with her apprentice, possibly about what they were doing today. She didn’t want to disturb them.

After deciding not to bother Starlingvine, she turned her attention back to the other cats she had spotted. She padded over to where Crystalrain and Honeydrop were seated, ears perked in a friendly matter. “Hello there,” she greeted as she approached, giving a quick flick of her tail. “I’m leading off a patrol, and wanted to ask if either or both of you were up for going as well?” she asked, her tone polite. She seated herself down in front of her two clanmates, resting her tail over top of her paws. She knew the two she-cats likely woke up not that long ago if not just woke up, and was hoping she wasn’t disturbing them. The patrols needed to be sent out anyway, so it was something that needed to be done.

Toadpaw perked his ears as he spotted his mentor, pushing himself to his paws. He nodded his head, tail swaying as he listened “Yeah, okay! Practicing battle techniques?” The young tom chirped one excitement. He really did enjoy training, and he liked the way Tangleclaw taught, which was good since sometimes he had a hard time learning. But, the warrior was rather patient with him.

He grinned at her statement and glanced over at Thunderfall. His offer was well-placed and appreciated, which Tigerstar spoke aloud. "Thank you, Thunderfall. If you lead a patrol, I'll come along," he replied, making his own offer. "Those are good cats to take along," Tigerstar added and purred. After the three of them had finished making plans, he looked at Mistflower and Thunderfall, murmuring, "Well, if that's all you needed to speak to me about, I'll leave you two be."

Mistflower glanced back at their leader and purred softly, bowing her head once. "Yes that's all I needed to speak to you about Tigerstar. There is some fresh-kill in the pile, you should have some soon," she told the other contently. "I think there's maybe even one warrior you should speak to about their apprentice, they have been one for quite some time and I'm not talking about the oldest one," she hinted some. The warrior had noticed the improvement in Softpaw though she worried about Spottedpaw, the apprentice was the oldest and yet didn't seem to her that she cared about becoming a warrior.
