Crowpaw stood outside the apprentice’s den, flexing his claws in the cool, soft, earth. An electric tension seemed to run from the top of his nose to the end of his tail, causing his fur to stand on end.

Tangleclaw padded into camp, a plump vole between his jaws. He went out hunting before dawn after waking up unexpectedly and not being able to fall asleep again. The strong feline carried the prey to the fresh-kill pile, making note of who was awake already. He was pleased to see Toadpaw up and early - the young tom was starting to become a fine young warrior. It wouldn't long now until Tangleclaw decides to assess his abilities.

After leaving the vole behind, Tangleclaw approached Toadpaw. "Good morning, Toadpaw. I see you're already up and ready for training." He spoke calmly, his tail swaying from side to side. "I suggest we practice some battle techniques today, preferably before this weather gets any worse." The dark tabby tom suggested, gazing up at the cloudy sky.

Crowpaw took one more look around, as if something major might have changed in the camp in the past few heartbeats, and then he seemed to deflate a little. “I guess that’s all we can do. Okay.” Resigned, he made his way to the fresh-kill pile.

Finchfoot woke up with a small yawn, blinking her eyes a few times as she adjusted to the light in the warrior's den. She could hear her brother, Rustpelt, breathing in the nest next to hers, still asleep. I wonder what the weather will be like today... Will I go hunting or will Minnowleap send me out on border patrol? Those Meadowclan cats have been getting rather bold... Thoughts wandered around in her head as she stretched out her limbs before heading outside.

Finchfoot casted a glance over the camp grounds. Not too many cats awake yet, huh? Oh, but there's Minnowleap. I should go ask her about today's patrols. With that decided, the black-and-orange-spotted molly made her way over to the deputy, bowing her head in respect as she approached. "Good morning, Minnowleap. Have you organized any patrols yet?"
