LakeClan

[Mist]

LakeClan was founded by a loner who spent his kithood in a group of cats who lived in a twoleg place. After coming of age he decided to leave and find a new home. His travels took him far from the twoleg place and brought him to a forest with a lake in it. Over time he gathered loners and rouges who lived in the area and they formed a Clan where Lakestar brought some of the traditions from his homeland into the warrior code. One of them being the arragement of mates. A tradition which continues to this day in a modified manner. When two cats decide they want to be mates they tell the leader who will then hold a ceremony to "assign" them as mates.

Territory:
Half of the territory is a pine forest and the other is fields. There is a lake in the middle where the cats can swim and catch fish.

POV: Smallflight
Smallflight gazed out of the nursery watching cats pass by. Starlingkit leaped onto Smallflights neck bringing her attention back to her 3 kits. Starlingkit leaped off of her neck and tumbled onto Stemkit, “I’m a badger” Squealed Stemkit as she hurled herself at Starlingkit. As the fight slowly broke away Smallflight padded out to the freshkill pile, she gazed at the selection; a mouse, 2 voles, 3 minnows and finally a finch. She picked up a vole and turned to begin padding away when Snailkit caught her eye. The black top of his head bobbed up and down as he ran towards his mother, “Stemkit and Starlingkit ran away” he wailed. “Go to the nursery” she meowed before dashing away to look for her daughters. Just outside of camp she spotted a tuft of black fur Starlingkit. Smallflight followed the scent all the way to the lake, Stemkit’s tabby pelt was soon spotted, “Come home now!” Smallflight yowled. Starlingkit leaped out of a bush and slowly followed her mother with Stemkit a tail-length behind her.

Eaglestar yawned as he made his way out of his den with a stretch. "Looks like it's going to be another hot day," he meowed with a soft sigh as he glanced up at the sky which was bright and clear. "I wish this drought would end already."

Ivypaw sighed softly as she uncurled herself from her nest. She took a moment to smooth down the fur on her shoulders before heading out into camp. A part of her wished her mentor was still around to help her, and while the old cat had only moved to the elder's den it felt different. She paused and let out a soft hiss as she noted that she was out of both Yarrow and coltsfoot. The pale tabby stood and padded out of her den, tail lashing as she did so. She needed at least another warrior to go herb hunting with her.

He padded over to a random place in camp and began to groom his coat a little, eyes flickering to the apprentice every few heartbeats.

A purr rumbled in her throat as she padded down a beaten down path that many patrols had used in the past. It'd been many moons since she'd last gone hunting on her own, as training Darkpaw took up most of her time. She hadn't caught much as like most reasonable creatures were asleep when she started her hunt. But she was able to catch a rabbit and a mouse before she'd started to make her way back, prey swinging from her jaws.

As her kits wiggled around her Smallflight pushed her way out of the nursery. They were now 4 moons and it was almost time to apprentice them. She vigorously licked Stemkit’s head just outside the nursery before she pelted away after her siblings “come back here I haven’t finished your cleaning” Smallflight yowled. Once the tiny grey kit returned she was covered in dust “now I have to start again” Smallflight murmured “don’t you get all dusty again after I clean you this time”. Smallflight kept an eye on her other kits while she cleaned Stemkit, ever since they ran away Smallflight felt paranoid that they would do it again.

The small black kit squirmed out of the nursery after her brother. She watched as Stemkit came following though Smallflight caught her and began washing Stemkit Few that was a close one Starlingkit thought. The apprentice’s were padding about camp and Starlingkit spotted Ivypaw by the freshkill pile. When Snailkit looked away to follow a ladybug Starlingkit marched up to Ivypaw who was munching on some fresh-kill. “What’s it like being an apprentice” Starlingkit mewed. After Ivypaw answered she threw another question at the young cat “do you think you’ll ever have to fight a badger, my mother did once”. Starlingkit paused for a moment after Ivypaw’s response, she clawed up some fallen leaves and tossed them over Ivypaw. Once she was distracted with the leaves Starlingkit leaped onto Ivypaw “I’m an evil badger that’s going to gobble you up” She squealed.

Palejaw inwardly chuckled as he watched his apprentice and Starlingkit interact. He shook his head, continuing his grooming all the while he looked over camp. Trotting into camp with her catches brought Servalnose a burst of pride. She was a bit fatigued, but she would march on. As soon as she set down her catches the she-cat was nearly tackled by her young daughter. The normally serious she-cat smiled and let out a purr. She stilled when Wrenfeather mentioned doing her a favor. "That depends on the favor, Wrenfeather." Servalnose was happily surprised when it turned out that her daughter wanted an escort. She'd need to get and possibly find Darkpaw but it was doable. She'd just have to give her apprentice his assessment after.

The older tom was a kind and noble cat, so maybe he wouldn't mind it. " Probably Tallcreek." He didn't feel the need to explain his reasoning to his mentor but maybe he did.
