Batstar leapt off the Highplam and ran towards BrackenClan territory. He did not wait to see if Venompaw or Vipertail had caught up. He knew inside that BrackenClan likely hadn't captured Sugarflower. His sister may have come there for medicine business or to say hi to Robincrest. But Batstar wanted any chance he could to explore BrackenClan's territory, and this was one great excuse to use when trespassing. The desert blurred golden around him until he spotted the leafy forest of BrackenClan. I'm coming, Sugarflower. But not just for you... but for OasisClan.

Venompaw saw Batstar jump off Highpalm and peelt through the dessert. She raced after him catching up fairly quickly.

"how are you batstar?" venompaw mewed t her leader.

"Just fine." he replied. Batstar looked behind him to see the queen and her kits. "May I have your names?" he mewed politely.
"I'm Shale," the black-gray-and-white striped tabby queen meowed.
"I'm Blizzard!" squeaked the fluffy white one with ice blue eyes.
"Phantom," the black leaf-green eyed one purred.
Only the gray she-kit remained quiet. "Tell him your name, sweetie," Shale whispered. "M-Minnow..." she replied faintly.
"How about Venompaw and I give you the grand tour of the territory?" Batstar offered.
Blizzard leaped with excitement. "That'd be awesome!"
"Yeah!" Phantom agreed.
Minnow just whimpered and leaned close to Shale.
A bit shy, thought Batstar. But she'll outgrow that. He turned to Vipertail and Sugarflower. "Will you she-cats go back to camp? Vipertail, you can order a patrol while your at it. Sugarflower, get some sleep it's late."
Sugarflower dipped her head. "Thanks! C'mon, Vipertail! My herbs won't sort themselves!"

"Great ok you guys lets get started." Venompaw mewed. she leaned close to Minnow whispering. "Don't worry i won't let anything bad happen to you or your kin." giving the little kit a lick.

The six cats walked to the desert. "Here are where the sand dunes are," Batstar told Shale. They're mostly like a 'filler' for our territory, though it does keep foxes, badgers, and other cats out of the territory."
"Is there anything here but sand?" Minnow mewed out loud.
Batstar smiled "Lots more. Look over here..." the patrol approached a small oasis.
"Whoa!" squeaked Blizzard. "Look at this pond!" he turned to his brother. "Race 'ya!"
"Wait!" called Batstar. "That oasis is just for washing. The big one's this way."
"How big is it?" mewled Phantom.
"Thrice the size of this one." Batstar replied.
Blizzard's eyes grew round with interest. "Can we go right now?"
"I want to show your mother the caverns, first," Batstar replied. "Venompaw, will you lead the way?"

"Of course, Batstar." Venompaw mewed. She lead them through the territory and into the caverns. "This is where a lot of the action goes on." Venompaw mewed with a grin

"Wow..." breathed the kits. "Look at these pointy stones!"
"Yes," purred Batstar "Our Clan camps in here-"
"In dark scary caves?!" exclaimed Minnow.
"Why? Did you want to sleep on rocks in the blazing desert?" Blizzard teased.
The cats wandered in the caves a while longer, and the kittens marveled at every sparkly quartz or pyrite stone they could get their tiny paws on. "What are those?" squeaked Phantom pointing to a cluster of black and brown creatures.
"Those are bats." Batstar explained. "They're like birds, but they taste like mice and roost in caves. That's how I received my name – Batstar. See, my forehead has a black mark that looks a bit like a bat..."
"Let me see!" the kits scrambled around Batstar making Shale purr with humor. She wished her mate had stayed with her long enough to see their beautiful kittens.

Venompaw laughed. "Be careful though cause this place isn't completely safe. Do you guys see how i only have half a tail?" she mewed spinning so the kits could see her tail. "I was bitten by one of the venomous snakes around here and lost half of my tail. But don't worry they are very easy to avoid."
