The Guardian dashed through the forest as he made his way towards the thunderpath. He made quick time, faster now than he had been in life. The trees a mere blur as he went. His speed a gift from the star guardians when he was given his role. Echoing memories of that night so many moons ago flashed through his head. For a brief second he could hear the cries and feel the pain of that night. He let out a low hiss as he pushed the thoughts away. Now was not the time for that. He needed to find the seven. They'd be about to the thunderpath by now. If his vision was anything to go by, he'd reach them before they crossed.
Even with his speed it still took him some time before he reached the thunderpath. As he slowed to a stop, a all to familiar cold shiver ran through his pelt. He mumbled something under his breath before moving forward. As he neared the edge of the thunderpath, the scent made his muzzle wrinkle with disgust. Just as bad as ever. No matter how many times he had to visit this spot, the small never ceased to disgust him.
The black tom stopped right at the edge of the thunderpath. There they were. Across the dark path, the seven Cedarclan cats. The Guardian studied them. He had only seen briefly flashes of them. It was much better getting a full view of them. They looked slightly worn and tired, though that was to be expected. Theyโd been traveling for a while now without a proper place to sleep. The oldest of the group, a gray long haired tom was the one to catch his attention. The name echoed in his head. โStoneheart...โ The Guardian murmured softly. That was the one Sunsplash spoke of. He sat on the Thunderpathโs edge, pale eyes watching with interest. The seven wouldnโt see him, or so he thought. The gray tomโs eyes seemed to almost linger where the Guardian sat. The black tom tilted his head. Interesting. Second time in recent memory for that to happen. Even if Stoneheart couldโt fully see yet... The Guardian felt he could at least sense his presence.

Elk Rush had woken before the sun that morning and had decided to hunt. For the first hour of hunting he didn't get much luck. Finally managing to hunt down a small mouse, Elk Rush padded back to camp. He paused for a moment, the lifeless rodent dangling from his mouth. There was something Birch Shadow had told him several moons ago. They used to give thanks to "starclan" for it's life. The mouse slipped from his jaws, landing on the ground with a soft thud. He stared at it, then looked to the overcast sky above. He had never heard anyone but Birch Shadow give thanks, so never took the habit up for himself. Though... he did wonder. There seamed to have been many things lost in the years since Birch Shadow was a kit. Though no one called it starlcan, they'd look upon their ancestors for help, even if there was never a reply. "Thanks." The tom murmured out, feeling slightly embarrassed for talking aloud to the sky. At least no one was around to poke fun at him. Letting out a small grunt Elk Rush picked up the mouse before heading back to camp. The others would surely be and going by now. Taking another look to the sky, Elk Rush suppressed the urge to sigh. It looked like it'd rain. He shivered at the thought, making him pad a bit faster.
As he trotted back into camp, his attention was drawn to Eclipseโs Silence as she eyed the watchers stone. A wide grin sperd on his face as he watched her. He padded towards her on silent paws. Noticing the younger tom, Little Sky, Elk Rush waved his tail in greeting. When Eclipseโs Silence turned to face him, he dropped the mouse, his grin turning to a smile. "Good morning!" He purred with amusement, stepping towards the molly. "Imagining yourself sitting up there one day huh?" He asked, flicking his tail at the stone as he walked up to it. He'd been there she was named protege, though only just. He wasn't sure what to think about the whole thing at first, but it grew on him later. As he grew to know her, he believed she had been a good pick. He loved to give her a hard time, but always supported her decisions in the end. He eyed up the stone, then turned his gaze to her. He gave her a thoughtful look. "Mhm. Yep. I'd say you'd look pretty good up there. Elk Rush commented closing his eyes, his head dipping in confirming nod. He opened on eye to look at her, giving a playful grin before turning to Little Sky. โWouldnโt you agree?โ Elk Rush asked before noticing the trainee digging into a vole.
Elk Rush tail tip twitched, shooting a look at Eclipseโs Silence wondering if she had given permission for it. Glancing back at the young white tom Elk Rush cleared his throat. โWell Little Sky, I expect youโll be working twice as hard today seeing as youโve already helped yourself to some fresh kill.โ Elk Rush kept his voice level, though a tone of warning underneath. Some of the old code had been swept aside or changed a bit.. but the one about trainees and hunters eating last still lingered.
