Ryebelly stood up and stretched one last time before moving back into the caves. She slowly padded back to the elders den, greeting other cats along the way. She sat down and closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep.

"Now lets go catch something," Thornbreeze let the prey scents fill his nostrils, the smell of bird was the closest and seemed most recent, he flicked his tail waiting for his apprentice to take lead, "Go on," he mewed. Thornbreeze wanted to see if his apprentice had improved on his hunting skills.

Stagpaw watched as the other patrol padded away. He smiled as his mentor gave him a small nudge, but when his paw hit the ground once more it shot up, he winced. The apprentice looked down at his paw, "I stood on a thorn," he complained. He looked up at his mentor, "I think I can get it out though," he didn't want to miss the rest of the patrol and he didn't want Bearfluff to think he was weak whining about a small thorn, "I'll catch up with you once I get it out," he promised the deputy, "You don't have to wait!"

She happily moved away from the other patrol, padding a long side her mentor. She took a deep breath, Reedstrike seemed to want to go hunting with Sagepaw. She turned to her mentor, "Are we still going to practice battle moves?" Dandelionpaw asked, she honestly would rather go back to her nest and sleep after the patrol but she wouldn't mind a bit of practice fights.

Dragging his paws, Silvertail opened his mouth as a faint scent of another summitclan cat drifted to him. Is that Beeflight? he wondered. The white tom's spirits lifted slightly as he began padding toward the scent of his clan mate. "I may not be able to hunt but I can pick herbs like a pro," he mumbled to himself. The sight of the orange tabby medicine cat made Silvertail purr. "Hello Beeflight," he called to the other tom who seemed to be picking poppies. "Do you need any help?" he asked. Silvertail took a seat just to the side of the poppy patch Beeflight was in and began grooming his paws and chest.

Boredom quickly overtook Fernsnap as she finished off her vole. Her eyes felt droopy and her tummy was full but she knew that it wasn't fair to neglect her warrior duties. She stood and stretched out her legs as much as she could before setting off at a brisk trot into the forest. The scents flew around her as she searched for any sign of strangers or summitclan. She left scent markers as she followed a narrow game trail through the forest. The little bengal padded through the forest content with the sound of the waves in the distance and the smell of prey wafting through her nose. And another smell. Fernsnap halted in her tracks and opened her mouth wide to take in the scent. Summitclan she thought beginning to follow the trail toward the scent. And something else? she wondered. It smelled like cat but none of the cats she had known. Fernsnap tread lightly as the scents drew nearer and nearer She didn't want to give away her position to the other cats, especially since she was alone. Her eyes narrowed as she saw two summitclan cats. One orange tabby picking poppies and a white tom sitting nearby. Her tail thrashed with nervousness as she scented the third cat. She peered around a thicket clump and saw a red tom watching the summitclan cats. A rogue! she thought, taking a sharp breath and crouching back under the thicket.

He smiled softly as he watched the apprentice run off, hoping that she would do well and that she would come back with what he asked for. Ripplestar had high hopes for her, and he knew that eventually, she would be an amazing warrior. He just wondered if he would be able to do the ceremony tonight. The leader brushed off his doubts and sat down, surveying the area. The forest had mixed scents of Shoreclan and Summitclan cats, which was normal. That didn't raise any concern.

"I guess so," she muttered at his first comment... and it was fairly true. Ripplestar had gotten into many arguments with Locuststar. I guess I am loyal though, in a way, Nettlepaw thought to herself before shaking it away. "Yes, I do have herbs to collect," she replied curtly and turned to head out of the camp. As she did, she kept pondering to herself about loyalty, her father, and her aunt.

She scanned the meeting between the two clans, feeling relief when the Summitclan deputy decided to continue their patrol and Reedstrike agreed on him. Sighing he looked toward her deputy "Yes, we did have plans, but we have the whole day left to train I guess" she meowed looking over to Dandelionpaw.

He made a notice his mentor giving him the silent orders to lead, it made him little nervous, but hid it. There could not be any reason for him to be nervous when hunting, he is trained those skills for moons now and had only two moons left before having his warrior title. He didn't say anything just walked toward the way he smelled the voles, the birds were closer, but he didn't really like to catch them.

He flicked his ears as the two deputies were talking about Nettlepaw, he didn't really want to anything with that thing, even if he thought it was kind of wrong toward Nettlepaw, who needed to be separated with her father, only because her being half-clan born. He turned to Bearfluff when he mentioned his name "alright, the scent is not moved anywhere, we can still see what is it or who is it" he meowed simply.

She made a glare toward her apprentice, sighing "night patrol again? Do you want me to talk to him, about those night patrols?" she meowed questioning the young she-cat "I mean it's fine if he takes you sometimes, but aren't you being out in nights a lot recently?" she meowed. She looked at Flickerpaw, for a moment then back at Pixiepaw "you know, training in early is better than training when the sun is fully up? So you can take naps when we got back what do you say?" she meowed to her.

She thought for a moment, then nodded "alright, then hurry up to see if your mentor is up or whatever, we will go little time as Pixiepaw seems to be little lazy currently" she meowed mostly joking as she looked at her apprentice with a smile.

Sagepaw shuddered as the other patrol slowly made their way into the distance. He knew Ripplestar wanted his own kit with him in his clan, but why hadn't Nettlepaw come to them? What was holding her there? Suddenly, a mouth-watering scent hit him in the face and made him stop, his ears twitched frantically as the distant sound of scratching claws and crumpling leaves caught his attention. He would know that sound anywhere. Something that was a rare delicacy for his clan, as these animals stayed on the Summitclan side of the border where the foraging was plentiful. it must've wandered over to drink from our stream.. He knew he had a good chance of catching it off-guard and turned his big pleading eyes to his mentor "If we bring back a nice hare for Ripplestar it might make things less tense when you talk to him." offered, "And it won't take long for me to catch it, so I'll catch up to you!" Sagepaw hoped would agree, he could only imagine how upset his leader will be about his daughter.

Bearfluff halted when his apprentice became hurt, his face scrunched in concern. "Are you sure you're alright? Thorns can get infected quickly-" the large tom bent down to sniff at the pad. "If you insist, but don't take too long. I'll be going to check something out with Lightningwolf but should be back by the time the patrol is over. Don't let Antdusk worry over you either. Oh, and when you get back can you check on the elder's? We can look for fresh moss while out training-" Bearfluff chuckled to himself, realizing he was fussing about his apprentice like a queen. Stagpaw was almost 12 moons, he could take care of himself. "Alright Lightningwolf, lead the way" he turned towards the warrior and nodded, waiting for him to find the scent again.

Reedstrike laughed softly, grateful for his apprentice's suggestion. "Alright, go ahead! Be quick, and make sure you stay away from that border." he responded, giving his apprentice a friendly nudge as he watched him go. Reedstrike began his walk but was interrupted as he heard distant chatter. Perhaps it was another Summitclan patrol? He headed toward the noise before his eyes landed on Beeflight, Summitclan's medicine cat, and Silvertail a warrior. "Watch the border." he called out as he passed by, examining the two cats closely.

How long did it take to check a border? The young apprentice stretched as he peeked his head out of the camp entrance impatiently.

The old molly once again stood up, she slowly padded outside, wondering if it was an okay time to go talk to the medicine cat about her aching bones. Before checking to see if anyone was in the medicine cat den, she spotted Creamflower sitting on her own, she dipped her head in greetings, "Hello," she mewed, "how have you been?" Ryebelly questioned, sitting down next to the young cat.

Stagpaw was so grateful to have Bearfluff as his mentor. He was first very nervous, being a deputies apprentice, he thought he wouldn't be a good enough cat to train. But his mentor had supported him and cared for him since he started. He purred, "I'll be fine," He sat down and watched the patrol walk off. Looking back at his paw, he first tried to clean it, once he had a grip he pulled it but it was no use. He should have asked another cat for help when he could. He sighed. "Ow... ow..." Stagpaw made his way along the border trying to catch up to Bearfluff who already seemed to be out of hearing distance.
