Heronblink pinned his ears, his eyes flicking to Cherrywind then Beetlenose this close to the camp? "ready as I'll ever be" he sighed at his half eaten mouse and shifted into a defensive stance "let's show this fox how we deal with intruders!" He glanced at Blizzardpaw "if you dont want to fight this one, make sure everybody who cant fight is safe and out of the way of the battle okay?" Heronblink added softly, he knew what it was like to be frightened as an apprentice, if she didnt feel ready to fight, she still had time to learn.

She nods her head in understanding.
"If anything I can run back to camp and let Cherrywind and Ashstar know to send back up if needed." She shook out her fur and flexes her claws into the ground, ready to head out of camp. Her tail twitching nervously, but her eyes shown bright with excitement.
I can do this. We may not even run into a fox. But if the off chance we do I need to be prepared and listen closely to Heronblink and Bettlenose. Yeah.. I can do this

Cherrywind

She stopped calling out to the leader and left him be. She sighed and looked back at Beetlenose and Heronblink, smiling and prancing back over to them. “Ashstar’s busy. Since I’m the deputy, it wouldn’t hurt to take you guys out by ourselves, would it?” She looked at both of them and smiled. “Blizzardpaw, this is a good chance for you. You should come with us.” She smiled and tilted her head playfully. A second, closer yowl came from the fox and Cherrywind’s ears went back to touch for head. “If you want to go, we have to go now.” She wasn’t going to wait. If they were in, they would come with her and not dawdle behind. She stood up and licked her chest fur down, stretching. “Plus, it wouldn’t hurt to get out of camp, would it?” She asked playfully and she trotted to the camp's exit, waiting.

Heathersong

“Wait!” Heathersong called out as she saw the cats getting ready to leave the camp. “I heard you need herbs, so I already got a bundle ready for you.” She purred though puffs as she had ran to them. “There is a bunch of herbs that you’ll need. Some that’ll help you if you get hurt, some that’ll help if you get sick, that kind of stuff.” She locked eyes with Heronblink and looked away, quickly flustered. “Alright, don’t get hurt too bad now. Have fun and tell me what you find!” She smiled and pranced back into her den.

"Alright Cherrywind!!" He cheered on the deputy for taking charge and picking up the slack where it's due. Sensing the stress radiating off of blizzardpaw, he placed a friendly paw on the apprentice's shoulder and flashing her a sincere smile, ensuring it's all going to be okay. "I'll protect you, okay?" he promised before walking ahead to be at Cherrywind's side to accompany her into battle.

"Wait!!" Called the apprentice from behind as she scurried over in a slight pant, inviting herself to tag along as it could be a good chance to earn a mentor. "Could I come? I've been practicing my pounce and sharpening my claws." She ensured Cherrywind, looking up to her elder with optimistic wide eyes.

"I'll gladly come along. It would be a great opportunity to learn something." She mewled. upon hearing the 2nd yowl the fur along her shoulders bristled at the unfamiliar sound. Her ears twitching around trying to pin point the sound.
She turned her gazed to Heronblink when she felt his paw giving her a comforting touch.
"Thanks Heronblink.

Then upon seeing and hearing Heathersong talk about the herbs gave her a small distraction, but the fur along her should still stood up and soon her mind was focused back onto the sound and she didn't hear the ending part of what Heathersong said. Then, absentmindedly, she joined the others by the exit.

Cherrywind

Cherrywind smiled at the young apprentice. “We could use more paws. Sure, just don’t get lost. I’ll protect you.” She have a wholehearted smile and waved her tail around. “This would be a good chance for you to get a mentor, too,” she winked and gently nudged her. “Who are you looking at for a mentor? Beetlenose would be a good choice in my opinion.” She giggled and purred. She heard a flock of birds fluster but e lake and that was the last clue she needed. It was getting too close to the boundaries and they had to leave, now. “Hey! We have to leave, it’s getting too close!” She called our urgently to the others. She kept her eyes on Bettlenose and waited to see how ready they were.

Wolfsong

Wolfsong padded quietly into camp, holding a mouse in his jaws. He walked silently to the fresh kill pile, and placed the mouse down delicately. He didn't feel very hungry, dispite being out of camp all day. He sat in the shadow of a rock, watching the clan life around him.

Complimented to hear his name dropped as a possible candidate for a mentor but tried to overlook it to look calm and collected before nodding at Cherrywind to signal they were ready to head out. The small fluffy tabby took the lead and began pacing to the exit of camp, sniffing the air to decide which way to lead the clan cats.

She rolled her eyes at the idea of Beetlenose being her mentor, she liked him and all, but she couldn't imagine being forced to interact with him everyday. "I'm not sure Cherrywind. Heronblink or Wolfsong seem like tough strong warriors who know their way around. It would be a pleasure to learn from the best but of course, only Ashstar knows whats best for me and I will respect his decision none the less." She meowed calmly as she trotted next to the beautiful deputy, "But it would also be honor to learn from you, Cherrywind, Hopefully Starclan can make that happen." Bumblepaw purred happily, excited to feel like one of the pack.

Heathersong

Heathersong was getting bored of being partially ignored and alone. She looked at Wolfsong and smiled, hopping up and walking over to him. “Mind if I sit with you?” She asked calmly but joyfully. She loved talking with the senior warriors. She flicked her tail around and blinked calmly, waiting for the invite to sit with him.

Cherrywind

Cherrywind was slightly offended at her remark, but brushed it off. She stood up and signalled for them to follow as she began to slowly walk out of the camp. “It’s now or never, and I don’t know about you lot but I’d prefer now!” She called as she walked out. She eyed Heathersong and Wolfsong and smiled, turning her head and exiting. As she left the camp, she sat on a log only a few trees away from the camp to wait for the rest to catch up.

Heronblink followed the deputy a tail length away, he was feeling a mix of excitement and terrifying dread, something in him was asking if they would be enough, if this fox would be stronger then them all. Be he shook off the depressing words, bristling his pelt and taking proud strides. He watched the crew as they followed the deputy into this battle, it isnt much of a battle, but it's what ivyclan was about!
As cherrywind jumped on the log he stepped up to stand in front of it, ready to see how the battle starts.
