It is a legend of the warrior clans that there is a wood in eternal greenleaf, where cats thrive in the warmth of the forest and prey is always in season. However, not all is good for these cats. What is untold by legend is all of the cats who hunt this forest, and all of the twolegs who'd simply love to tear down this forest for their brick nests.
These cats have been on the top of the food chain forever; will they survive these new and dangerous threats?

Pollentuft snored softly in the warriors den, asleep in the rising morning. A tiny sun beam struck her shut eyes, causing them to blink open in slight frustration. With a soft groan, the molly sat up and arched her back, stretching with a sleepy expression. She shook out her fluffy brown pelt, causing a bit of moss and leaves to scatter inside the den. Then, she quietly stepped outside to camp.
Her yellow gaze flitted around camp as she padded towards the prey pile, wondering who else was awake.

cottonfern was fast asleep in his nest, until a buzzing appeared in his ear.
he quickly woke up, shaking his head. a fly buzzed around his ear, hopping
away when he noticed it but come back very quickly. he snapped at it and
huffed. dumb bug. he looked out of his den, squeezing out into camp and
sitting by the entrance. he had been working last night, sorting herbs, and
had eaten a rabbit. he wasn't all that hungry, but there was always freshki
ll so he walked up to the fresh-kill pile and took a mouse. he quickly ate it
and buried the bones. now he should start his day.

Soft dawn light filtered into the warriors' den and right over Snowfire's closed eyes, gently waking her. She yawned and slowly rose into a stretch, giving herself a few moments to fully wake up. The morning light gave her a warm and happy feeling and she cheerfully walked out of the den, giving her pelt a good shake after she'd exited. Not many cats were awake yet, but she spotted a brown molly over by the fresh-kill pile. Purring, she bounded toward the other warrior.
"Hey, Pollentuft!" she mewed good-naturedly, "Lovely morning, isn't it? Sleep well?"

Boldstripe padded into camp with a mouse and a sparrow wedged between his jaws. His morning hunting trip had been quite successful, and he was proud to be able to put his catches onto the pile. A lucky few cats would get a warm meal this morning, and the thought satisfied him. He dipped his head respectfully to Pollentuft and Snowfire as he came near to them, but didn't speak, and instead took a robin from the pile to go eat by himself. Once he had done that, he stuck his head into the warriors' den. He had forgotten to assign a dawn patrol last night so he needed to do it now, and to make up for his ignorance he would go on it too. Quietly, he called out to a few sleeping cats.
"Mothfrost! Tinynight! Get up, we're going on dawn patrol."

Frogpaw grunted as she got up. She didn't want to be awake as much as she didn't want to talk to her mentor, the leader, or anyone she happened to come across. Some cats described her as negative, but she couldn't help it. It was hard not to be when everyone in the clan was annoying. She got up slowly. Her shoulders were stiff and she'd slept uncomfortably. Frogpaw stalked out of the den slowly, trying to step on her denmate's tails as much as she could. As far as she was concerned, there was no reason the other apprentices should get to have better sleep than her.

Deerwatcher yawned as she got up. She slowly walked out of the den, doing her best not to disturb her clanmates still asleep. She shook her fluffy build and groomed her fur a bit. She was soft and huge and grinned as she saw the clan was starting to awaken. Silently she approached the apprentice's den, letting Frogpaw exit first, and Deerwatcher quietly called for Cherrypaw.

Lionwing sat up slowly, waking up very early. Nobody else was up so he quickly decided to go hunt, not wanting to invite anyone to come with him. The golden tom ran through the forest on his strong legs and quickly found himself back at camp just about when the camp started to wake up, a bountiful harvest of prey in his jaws.

mothfrost, who had been grooming himself in his nest, looked up when he heard his name being called. letting out a pleased purr, he got to his paws and trotted to the deputy, pushing past him to get out of the den. "i was hoping i'd get to stretch my legs this morning. maybe i'll do some hunting after the patrol? if i'm not needed elsewhere, of course." the warrior arched his back in a stretch, his claws flexing and his jaws opening in yawn. "who else is going?"

Snakestar sat up slowly. Unlike most leaders, he was a late sleeper, so most of the clan was already awake. He crawled out from his den inside of a giant fallen tree, which was very open inside but surprisingly did not take up much of the camp. He looked at Boldstripe heading out with the dawn patrol and smiled. Snakestar decided to assign a few other patrols, so he quickly thought and came up with something. Pollentuft, Snowfire, and Frogpaw, you're on a hunting patrol, Snakestar called out. Honeywish, Hawkpaw, and Robinpatch, you can do a border patrol.

I decided to change Snakestar to a tom so the genders were more even in my cats (and probably the whole clan tbh)
also, border patrols are necessary even though there aren't any neighboring clans because its to check if there are any unknown cats in the territory

The fluffy calico she-cat frowned as she found herself lost again. How can it be this easy to get lost? No matter how hard Autumn tried to stay on a trail, she always found herself lost again, away from the home she'd set up before. But atleast this forest was nice. If it wasn't harboring wolves, badgers, or poisonous snakes, she'd love to set up a home here (though she'd probably lose it). She headed deeper into the forest, hoping to encounter other cats, and hopefully friendly ones.

(autumn is about 5 years old, so she'd be a kit just under becoming an apprentice.)

or anyone of interest. he might as well go out and get more herbs. h
e stood up, maybe pushed through a few groups of cats, until he slip
ped out the entrance. cottonfern huffed as a ray of sunlight hit his f
ur. he never really liked it unless he wanted to be warm. that didn't
matter, whatever. he trudged through the forest, finding a juniper b
ush and taking off two branches. he already had an okay amount, b
ut you always needed more, right?

he quickly got up at the mentions of dawn patrol, grooming himself v

ing patrol. "uh, can i eat first?" he asked boldstripe as he popped
back into the den.

hawkpaw was woken abruptly by a misguided stomp, supposed to land
on her tail but ended up on her back paw. she looked up the second she w
oke up to see who stomped on her foot, but frogpaw was gone already. sh
e angrily limped out, limping over to snakestar as soon as her name was c
alled. she sat down and began to lick her foot, waiting for her patrol mem
bers. it would be better soon anyways, she guessed.
