Her ears twitched. "I think we should get back. It's pouring and you've been out for a long time. I can help you bring the rest of the prey back to the camp." She mewed.

The molly was slightly calmed by then, but her expression was still a little nervous. She'd turn back with Sloeslough and dug up the mouse then picking it up.

As they walked, she wanted to start a conversation, but wasn't sure about what, so she'd just walk next to Sloeslough.

Sheepfeather

Reluctant, but somewhat desperate to keep his few close friends close, Sheepfeather gets to his paws and pads quickly after Fallenrains without uttering a goodbye to Flintripple. He managed to quickly convince himself he could bring Fallenrains back to camp before Flint did anything unreasonable or came under much distress. "Fallenrains?" He called in to the woods. He can't tell where the tom was, and his failing hearing didn't allow him to hear his footsteps - but he could easily scent the blood, and he followed it as quick as his old legs would let him. He couldn't have gone far. "Fallenrains?" He called again, and then paused. Would the warrior be okay out here, with wounds? Surely he couldn't go far, but.. moment of desperation overwhelmed him as the realisation he couldn't entirely tell who would turn his back on him in this clan, and he called again "Fallenrains, please! I.. I need your friendship, in this place. Don't leave. Please." As soon as the words left his lips Sheepfeather let out a defeated sigh at how pathetic they sounded, but they were true. Fallenrains was one of the few he was certain would be on his side if he was deemed too weak, along with Otterpelt and.. well, if he was in danger, Flintripple certainly would be as well. Fallenrains, while odd, was someone Sheepfeather found himself able to trust.

Otterpelt

Realising at last that his kit's were shivering, and vaguely aware of his mates snarling outside, Otterpelt rose to his paws. He simply felt numb, instead of the fury he'd expected - it was all too much to process in one go. But he knew one thing. His kits needed their mother. Reluctantly leaving them in the tattered nest, Otterpelt pushed his way in to the medicine den, his heart sinking further at the sight of his mate. "Brackenfoot? Here, love.." He spoke softly, brushing gently against her and pressing his nose to her cheek in comfort. "You need to leave this fight, for now. He'll be only angry, and stronger. He needs time to process your point, and you.. The kits need you, Brackenfoot. Please come wait for Alderpool at the nursery." The tom was wary - he'd never seen Brackenfoot so beaten up, or so so angry. He knew she'd willingly throw herself in front of a monster for her family, but that wouldn't help any of them. The kits needed her, and so did he.

He can hear the elder calling out for him; can under the words, and the desperation tugs at his heart. He doesn't want to go back- but he must. He serves the Clan now, not himself: and to serve the clan is to do some things which he doesn't wish to do.

The silver cat falls from the tree limbs as a dying star and stands before the he-cat without seeming to have moved. "I can't stay here," is said too gently. "The queens think I kitnap. Our... our leader will punish me, if not outright banish me if he remembers what I tried to do."

He had risked everything, and all for nothing.

FallenRains' voice is soft and sorrowful- he feels dizzy,... weaker than he wants to let on about. Hes so tired. "Sheepfeather... I am not welcome there. Didn't you see what she did when I tried to save their lives?" His eyes glimmer with tears a minute before he swallows and tosses his head upward in an attempt to hide his emotions.

Fallenrains' sorrow squeezed Sheepfeather's heart, and the elder couldn't bare to see him so.. defeated. Fallenrains had always appeared somewhat odd, somewhat broken - but Sheepfeather hadn't seen him like this before. "Fallenrains.." he shook his head. "The queens didn't understand in all the confusion, you give out a lot of mixed signals - but that relationship can be fixed. Maybe - maybe Slatestar will see this as a betrayal, and of course there'll be punishment, but in the 182 moons I've been alive I don't believe I've encountered an as well-meaning cat as you. If you're banished, I'll follow you, but for now.." he padded to stand by the warriors side, after giving the wound a quick lick, the metallic taste of blood resparking his concern. "Please come back and get that sorted. You don't need to be alone. There'll be plenty who are opposed to you, but.. not all. At the very least, not me."

"I... I'm not going back tonight Sheepfeather. I don't think it wise." He swallows the heavy lump in his throat, and it just weighs in his chest and makes him ... heavy..

He refuses to keep his eyes on the elder, sure that the old cat is far too capable of reading him already. Something that he isnt comfortable with; he tries not to let others in.

Its not safe.

He flicks one ear, wincing at the rasp of a rough tongue on a raw wound. "Besides.. Im.. I don't do well with others on a good day... I'm not particularly safe around others now." His voice is soft and still a rasp that he had heard from his once-mate would give shivers. "I dont want to hurt anyone anymore. I... I'm so tired of hurting people.. I came here to escape that life... I dont think I'll be able too." Not for much longer anyhow.

She rolled her eyes when her son explained that he had a nose. Well, he did have a point regarding that as she sat down in the den and watched him explore some. The molly sighed and listened to him speak, identifying emberpaw's nest first it seemed. Her attention focused on him when he answered her question. this wasn't any good that he was having issues today. "do we need to grab you something from the medicine cat den?" cloverstrike asked windkit as she glacned outside at the entrance for a moment. she would be happy once things settled more. of course she needed to check in on brackenfoot but her son held more importance currently, even if he wasn't a young defenseless kit any longer. She still needed to keep him as healthy as she could. "how sick did you get windkit? Did anyone see you?" she questioned him.

Her ear twitched. Sloeslough already had a lot in mouth, and all she had was a mouse. She awkwardly tightened the grip on the mouse not to drop it, then picked up the thrush.

She twitched her tail, turning to the direction of the camp and slowly started heading there.

Sheepfeather's tail swayed as he sat down, gazing at the warrior in concern. "Let me stay out here with you for a while, then. We can hunt, cool off a bit.." The elder trailed off a little as he sat quietly, tail twitching. "At the very least, please don't stray far.. you don't want to hurt anyone, and I understand, but hurting yourself hurts the rest of the clan too. You shouldn't have to punish yourself." he meowed softly.

Otterpelt laid down beside his mate, laying close around her as if she too was a kit he wanted to soothe. He watched as she groomed their kits, including the heart wrenching sight of little Larkkit being included. He knew something would have to be done in the way of burial, but Otterpelt wasn't ready to think about that yet, and he knew Brackenfoot would be in the same boat. He began to gently groom his mate as she let out a shrill wail, tugging at his heart. His tongue lapped gently over her fur and wounds as he tried to wordlessly comfort her, and remind her she wasn't alone in this. Not now, and not ever.

Shrewbranch wasn't one to enjoy prolonged periods of time away from camp. So much could go on in one day, it was hard to keep track of the health and take care of everyone, and sometimes it felt as if his clanmates and even Slatestar were working against him in that respect. Despite that, herb storages still needed to be filled, and it was nice to forget all the troubles of camp for a little while - even if it was, only, a little while. After a while of walking, he rounds a corner only to have a cat crash right in to him - a she he barely recognises, and that he hasn't seen in moons. "Risingstorm..?" He meowed softly in tentative recognition. "You're- You're back." There was a notable pause in his voice as he noticed how much plumper she was now.

He opens his mouth to respond and then shuts it without a sound. It would do no good.... Sheepfeather is right, he needs to help the clan.

But punishing himself? Does he do that?

"I.. I see, I hear, I obey." Is said in a voice that isnt quite his own. A link to a past he desperately wishes to forget. But how can he forget when he cannot even forgive himself? Noone else would forgive what he has done.

Blue eyes shimmer as he stares at the elder; "oh.. of course you can stay. But umm ... i.. " he swallows the hard lump in his elegant throat. "I dont want to be near the earth." He wishes to be in the trees at the very least, closer to his beloved heavens. Closer to the stars and the ancestors and his once-love BirdsShadow. Even though it would hurt so very much.

Fallen ducks his head a minute, "come with me. It ... it isnt far." He turns and shambles away, one side aching. Had he deserved this? The claws and pain, the rage and sorrow. She had been lucky - she was a she-cat. He doesn't hurt she-cats intentionally. She was lucky he has his own Code beside the Warrior Clans Code.

Or is it he who is lucky?

She has a hard time getting rolled back onto her belly, and sits there a minute, panting. That hurt! "Hello again, ShewBranch," she meows warmly, getting to her aching feet slowly. Her curled fur is awry but she makes no move to fix it- despite the plumpness that is her belly that belies her pregnancy.... she is severely underweight. Her once lovely face has a thinness too it, and were she human one might say that a gust of wind could blow her away. A shadow of herself; and there is such sorrow in her eyes.

"Am I.. am I still welcome?" Is whispered, inhaling the warm scent of her Clan. "I.. would my family be... would what's left of my family... be welcomed?" Her voice breaks and she doesn't mean to cry but she does. "I.. I didnt want to go.. I didnt..." Shoulders shaking as she softly sobs, moving unsteadily forward to bury her muzzle into his neck, eyes squeezed shut.
"Please, please.."
