The massive wolfdog listened to the description in silence. The words seemed even darker and more frightening than they had the first time. Reflexively, a quip poured from her muzzle, "Well, tickle me impressed: That is even more cryptic than StarPack's omens usually are." She glanced over at Needlefang as she gave her verdict. She considered it carefully. Everything sounded reasonable.

Well, everything but the part where one of her own packmates would have to risk contracting illness in the case of ShadowPack taking captives. There was no way Velvetstar could let that slide with an intact conscience. She grinned before replying, "Fair enough - but I can't let Rive deal with any intruder. That's a leader's job." She was about to say more, when a piercing howl split the air. That's Fawnfoot - and that sounds like an alert call. Velvetstar rolled her heterochromic eyes, disbelieving that so much nonsense could happen in the span of one day.

At least this would probably be entertaining.

She smiled a tired smile, small and with furrowed brows, over her shoulder at the medicine dogs, saying, "Thanks. You're free to go. If you sense anything else, let me know." Then, she leaped free of her den, using the hilly structure outside of it to get a good look at the scene: A patrol composed of Fawnfoot and Snowstorm was returning home with fresh-meat in the form of three outsiders, one pup and two adults who should've known better. She grinned to herself, exposing her fangs, before bolting down to them in a few long strides. Unceremoniously, she loomed over them, right into their faces, and sniffed the two adults. They lacked Pack scent signatures, so she concluded that they were probably outpackers - WindPack siblings, by the looks of them, lanky and very similar to one another. She paced around them, broad muzzle parted in a huge smirk, saying softly, "You got names? And maybe a reason or two for making the mistake you just did?" She paid the pup no attention; in her eyes, it was a no-brainer to take him in. She couldn't turn her teeth on him, even in the event that he was threatening her.

Narina watched her leader feeling a bit better now that she was her, as she relaxed a little but was ready to attack at any moment.
Nari grinned a bit at the out packers, her claws digging deep into the ground. "Maybe just a bite" She thought to herself, her grin widened.

Nodding her small head, Needlefang followed the leader out of the den, her sensitive ears having heard them coming but not having said anything. “Dawnpaw, come with me, we’re going to be doing some work tonight with Rive. I’d like to get it done by tomorrow so we can focus on a quarantine den. Knowing of the incurable illness makes my task even more important.” She said, thinking of self preservation as well as the good of the pack, since if she was gone without Dawnpaw knowing all she still needed to teach her, it wouldn’t be good. Jumping down from Velvetstar’s den with no fear, she landed on her chest with a bit of a bounce, knowing from experience how painful landing on her feet was from that height. The tiny medicine dog stood and shook off before trotting up to the group of strangers and standing between Velvetstar’s paws with a snarl. “I don’t smell sickness, but we can never be too careful with what we discussed. If you see anything odd, send them to me.” She said looking up at her leader, being close enough for just her to hear most of it, but staying cryptic enough that no one else would know. Growling at the pair of larger dogs, she turned and ran towards her den. “Rive, it’s time for your important task!” She yelled to her fellow Chihuahua before sliding down the dirt slope to her den.

The retired warrior raised himself from the mossy patch he laid on as he saw the commotion in his one good eye, though his hearing was going, he could still make out everything, growing a bit at the omega breed who dare stand that close to the leader. He never understood why she was allowed to live with them, let alone be a higher ranked member of the pack. Looking the pair of strangers, he circled them, dragging his hind leg as it hadn’t woken up yet, piercing eyes staring daggers threw them. “We should kill them for daring to enter our territory, let alone in a pair. One dog is dangerous, two are plotting something.” He said as he finished his walk and stood next to Velvetstar with a snarl directed towards the pup to scare her a bit.

She watched the clan when the just made warrior got out of the camp to do whatever she was doing. She made a deeply annoyed sight when Snowstorm got back with some stranger pup and two adult dogs, at the time she seriously wanted to hit her head to the nearest rock she could found. She heard the Lichendusk question "Because where a PACK, not just some group of...servants who scratch our quests back when they need it" she said rolling her eyes "why do we even mark our borders when nobody doesn't care about them anyway" she said mostly to herself.

She wakes up to the noises, wondering what was going on again, did the Windpackers started a war or something, she wondered. Walking out of the cleaning she saw a pup and two other strangers.

Hawk stepped up and growled at the elder. "We wouldn't dare plot something against a whole Pack. What do you think we are, crooked Pack dogs?"
Spotted nipped her brother to keep him quiet, then turned to look at Velvetstar. "We wish no harm, we just want to join the Pack..."
She went silent, waiting for whatever was to come.

Mari stepped forward and growled menacingly at the male mutt. “I’d watch how you act, your friend seems to have more sense than you mongrel.” Nari looked at the male with a glare, her canines barred.

Fawnfoot raised his hackles and snapped at Hawk's side for acting so inappropriately toward an elder. He, of course, didn't actually bite the stranger, only nipped at him. "Watch your mouth," he snarled. "Witheredleaf may be old but he'll still tear you to pieces." Fawnfoot lowered his tail and ears as he addressed the alpha. "Velvetstar," he said. "They have caused no trouble on their way to camp and came willingly as prisoners despite this one's attitude," he said tossing his head toward Hawk.

“Yes it seems they came with us willingly. We will let you deal with them.” Snowstorm said. She looked at Holland, wondering who could take care of him. “This is Holland. I found him hiding in a bush. I couldn’t just leave him there so I thought it might be better to bring him here. Oh Starpack...please don’t let Velvetstar be angry I did come back before dark after all. She thought, remembering she still had to sit through the night with no sleep.

Holland continued to hide behind Snowstorm as the bigger dog came in. She looked to be the leader, and apparently Hawk and Spotted were prisoners now. Holland didn't know what to say, because this all came so fast to him.
