Eaglepaw wagged his tail at the new dog, trying to temporarily forget that day's sadness. "You'll love it in Thunderpack! We have the best prey," he said, trying to sound proud and not like he wanted to crawl under a rock and hide. It had nothing to do with the new dog whatsoever, but with the fact that he had just buried two packmates, and that their deaths were so sudden and unexpected.

“Come on. Let’s introduce you!” Daisypup had a genuine smile on her face. For the first time since before she found Fallensnow dead she was happy. “You’ll be fine with us. I bet the others would love to meet you. Eaglepaw is right. We get really good prey too!” She added, tail wagging.

Arriving back at camp, she faced the others at the clearing. "This is Alabaster. He can't speak, but I think he wants to join us. Let's all make him feel welcome." Emberstorm turned to face Alabaster. "Come meet some of the others! This is Nightpaw. And those two pups are Oreopup and Plumpup."

He was surprised that the bigger dog found out his name and wagged his tail, he then nodded his head at Nightpaw, Oreopup and Plumpup.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Daisypup.” Daisypup smiled and wagged her tail. She hoped Oreopup and Plumpup did the same and didn’t ask why Alabaster couldn’t talk, as that was rude.

Oreopup bounded over to the returning dogs, a cheerful grin on her muzzle. "Hello there!" she said energetically, dipping her head in politeness towards the new dog. Alabaster... that's a cool name! He must be tough. Oooh, I wonder where he got all those scars?! The pup would have asked every single one of those questions if it weren't for the look the other dogs were giving her. Hmph, they want me to 'not ask insensitive questions', whatever that means. "My name is Oreopup," she said, nodding her little head to confirm it. "And the thing that crawls like a worm is, I'm sorry to say, my sister Plumpup." The pup glanced over her shoulder, eyebrows raised, as if daring her older sister to come chase her, which was really what Oreopup wanted at that moment.

He smiled at the pup as she playfully teased her sister. Oreopup and Plumpup reminded him of his his brother and how they used to tease each other. He could tell she had questions that he sadly couldn't answer but hopefully he'd find a way.

Daisypup knew Oreopup was teasing Plumpup. Plumpup certainly didn’t look like a worm. She could tell Oreopup wanted to play and possibly ask Alabaster questions. She was glad her little sister settled for teasing Plumpup. Even Daisypup knew the teasing was just the two playing around and nothing more. She chuckled softly, glad they hadn’t asked about their mom.
