Poison? Who poisoned him? Was he sick? Those were the thoughts racing through Eaglepaw's head. He watched fearfully as Cindermist and Badgerstrike dragged Moodestar's body away, feeling relieved that his leader would rest. Voting... our new leader! He woke up from his trance a bit, and listened, ears up and alert, for what Badgerstrike had to say next. A new leader!

After Ashpaw's announcement, her mind was filled with a whole new wave of thoughts and questions. Poisoned? How? Did someone try to murder him? No, that's not possible. She looked around camp, looking at each dog. None of them seemed to have a grudge against Moosestar or have murderous intentions. Could it be another dog from another camp? No, that's even more unlikely. She watched as Badgerstrike and Cindermist dragged Moosestar's body out of camp. She didn't feel like helping them. Sighing, she laid down with her head on her paws.
After a while, Badgerstrike came back and announced the continuation of the meeting and the voting of the next leader. Oh yeah, we need a new leader. Seeing how Badgerstrike seemed to take everything under control, he was the first dog on her list. I wonder if StarPack would agree...

Lillysnap glanced around the pack unsure of what to do. Nobody seemed willing to take the first step and she didn't feel inclined either. But somebody had to speak up for the pack. "I vote for Badgerstrike as the new leader," she yapped, glancing at him.

Should I vote? I'm new here only spent a day or two with Thunderpack I don't think I should but Badgerstrike does seem like a capable leader.

I should vote too! The pup thought. “I vote for Badgerstrike as well!” Daisypup said. She didn’t know if her vote counted, but she was almost an apprentice. Plus shouldn’t the whole pack vote?

Badgerstrike stepped forwards as he heard a major vote towards him. “I’m deeply honored to have earned all of your trust. I promise you that I will not let any of you down and live up to Moosestar’s legacy.” He said looking up at the leader’s den. “Willowstep and I will need to travel to the Moonpool before sundown, I suppose I should appoint a deputy before we leave.” He said, trying to think of who would be a good choice. “Cindermist, would you accept? I believe you’re a dog who can get along with most and can relate to dogs on a more personal level. You’d be a nice dog to balance the leadership of Thunderpack with.” He said, still staying within the pack, not returning to the leaders perch until he would travel to Moonpool.
