ravenclan was formed by survivors of a cold-blooded war between two
neighboring clans, rockclan and meadowclan. the war begun as a result of
rockclan warrior ravenclaw crossing the border and murdering a meadow-
clan apprentice; for reasons that are today still unknown. when meadow-
clan demanded justice for the young apprentice, rockclan refused to hand
over ravenclaw, as ravenclaw was brother to rockclan's leader, blackstar.
the war lasted for months. border patrols would quarrel and warriors wo-
uld die. eventually, food became scarce due to two-leg encroachment &
the clans found many of their numbers falling due to disease, starvation,
and bloody skirmishes. to protect his brother and save their clan, blackstar
sent him away with a handful of survivors to find new territory to settle.
thus, ravenclan was born. not long after their arrival, did the clan's new
leader ravenstar erect his rules; on the first full moon of every green-leaf,
the warrior code would be completely disregarded. a cat could do anything
they wanted to - without any consequences. he called this the 'purge.' raven-
star claimed that this would quell violence amongst the clan and avoid war;
however, the purge was enacted due to his own violent and cruel views th-
at the weak will perish and the strong will come out on top. and for many
moons, the purge worked. but when ravenstar died, his successor agreed
that the 'purge' enacted by ravenstar was cruel, dangerous and unnecessary.
it was disowned, and ravenclan stopped all purging events. now, years later,
ravenclan is still alive and thriving. however, not every cat agrees with the
end of the purge, and tensions between those who support it and those who
are against it mark a potentially cataclysmic end of peace in ravenclan.
