to lead the group with stormheart. with a small mrow, she pressed her
muzzle on stormheart's shoulder and flicked her tail nervously. "do you
think we might find any danger out here...?" honeypaw asked, tredding
over the soft grass that always welcomed her.

addersong let out a gruff hiss, being a bit amused at her choice of words.
"there is no such thing as a first rule. it's more or less what you find most
important. i guess my 'first rule' would be to trust your gut." she mewed,
hoping that her somewhat positive attitude inspired her apprentice. with
her tail flicking from side to side, addersong realized what a mistake she
made to tell lynxpaw that, knowing that her words might come back and
bite her in the tail. "maybe, but be silent. don't let the whole forest know that a hunting patrol is
coming through."

Rosepaw heard the talk about an intruder in the territory and got excited, much like Eclipsepaw. She walked up to Redwing, excited to finally have something to talk about with the other apprentices. "What do we do Redwing? I've never seen an intruder in the territory before." She bounced with excitement, but waited for her mentor's okay to do anything.

Stormheart turned his head to his apprentice, smiling at her. "You should always keep your guard up, Honeypaw, but no, I don't think we will run into anything too dangerous." He continued walking until he heard Twitchfire's question. He sniffed the air, trying to see if there was prey around. When his eyes caught a mouse, he turned, replying to Twitchfire. "I think around here should be good. Remember to stay close, and always pay attention to your surroundings. This territory is still new to us and we don't know what could be lurking in the shadows." With that he turned to Honeypaw once again. Honeypaw, do you see that mouse over there? I'd like you to catch it." He figured a small task like catching a mouse would be a good warm-up for his apprentice.

she awoke soon after her nap. to be honest, she missed her warrior duties, but she surely couldn't
do too much since her kits were due soon. she missed the old forest as were where she had learne
d how to hunt squirrels, birds, voles, shrews, and maybe rabbit. but here it was all just... rabbit. s
he especially liked the taste of bird though, and it was rare to find a bird nesting here anyways. sh
e stretched and carried herself back out of her den, considering a short walk along the river.

she grabbed the goldenrod quickly and rushed to ashpaw. "my mentor's letting me out, i can heal the scratches
you keep getting from your bedding, i'll get you the softest moss with no thorns today." she meowed to her brot
her as she started chewing up some of the goldenrod.

but he quickly turned away from his idea. the river didn't seem so great currently. whatever. he thought with
a sigh as he held the mole to bring back to camp. it was a scrawny thing, but it would be great for the elders.
he padded through the camp entrance and set his catch on the tree stump fresh-kill pile.

She silently looked over at her mentor, blinking her eyes once or twice, shaking her head to break her thought what just happened "eh, I was not that loud, you and Twitchfire was more even louder than I was" she meowed looking over the way where Stomrheart ordered Twitchfire to go and Honeypaw catching a mice.

He narrowed his eyes at the loner like he was seeing a prey to catch, he wanted to start chasing the tom away, but was shocked when Foxsnow asked them to hold him "what? Are you kidding me? We just can't let a stranger go to our camp, no matter how skinny he is" he meowed confusedly.

What's up?" she meowed flicking her tail as she looked over at him "hmm, why you look so tired even when you slept later than anyone else?" she meowed.

Luka was thankful that they plan to kill him or anything. He managed to stand up but his legs were still shaky from weakness. "I appreciate the mercy, it's my first stroke of luck in moons." He blinked warmly and raised his tail as a sign of thanks. "My name is Luka by the way."

Rosepaw pressed against the loner, Luka, holding his small frame up with hers. She was excited to have someone new to talk to. It had been a while since anything exciting like this had happened. She decided to make the best of it, and attempted to start a conversation with the tiny Tom. "Hi Luka! My name is Rosepaw. You should just ignore Eclipsepaw. You couldn't hurt a single cat in the camp, even the kits. You look like you haven't eaten in forever." She continued to follow her mentor anf Foxsnow, allowing Luka to rest all of his weight on her.

with a curt nod, honeypaw gave stormheart's flank a small flick with her tail, letting him know that she agreed to the challenge. she glanced over to twitchfire and gave him a kind nod, ears flickering back to her mentor to let him know that she was listening. her heart stopped when she noticed the mouse herself, hunting instincts already kicking in. dropping herself into a hunter's crouch, her tail slightly hovered above the undergrowth, careful to not step on anything. the worry in her pelt rose as she knew stormheart was watching her, and she wanted to try her best and impress him. she stopped, and stooped down lower, suddenly leaping and landing her paw on the tail of the mouse. it quickly scurried off, but honeypaw didn't give up yet. she quickly ran after it, grabbing it's neck after only a few seconds of running. would this still be acceptable and passable? honeypaw grabbed the mouse and trotted back to stormheart, feeling a bit ashamed that she probably caused most prey to run off at her racket.

addersong glared at lynxpaw, her slits becoming as thin as a string. "do you think that is any way to talk to your mentor?" she hissed, cuffing her apprentice's ears with one of her paws as a small warning. "we do so many things to help you younger kits survive, the least you can do is show us some respect." addersong caught her breath, hoping she didn't sound too aggressive to her apprentice. sometimes she had to remember that lynxpaw was just that, an apprentice. all they knew was play and 2nd rate duties. her tail was lashing from side to side, wishing that someone else was there to break the awkward tension.

the sun was beating on the tom's fur, causing him to become a bit restless. with a yawn, lemonbreeze opened his eyes and noticed the lack of cats in the camp. flicking his ear and lifting his head, and look around to try and see if everyone was still sleeping. but no one was there, and with sudden realization lemonbreeze shot up and yelped. "oh goodness!! i slept late, i hope no one is mad at me..." he whimpered, frantically looking around to see if anyone else was lounging around. he spotted some others a bit off, but the worry of being scolded still filled his senses.

as she turned to him with the piece of prey.

Squirrelpaw watched her mentor reenact. She looked down on him while pressing her muzzle closed to not let out a laugh. "That's what I thought, my little subordinate." She cuffed his head with a paw. She's always showed great wit, even as a kit. Squirrelpaw remembers one of the first times going out of camp with her denmates. She caught a scent of something strange, something threatening. She knew it wasn't right and had everyone go back to camp. The young apprentice had told snakeheart which the next day went looking for the scent and found a fox. However today, Squirrelpaw knows that she'd be able to take on a fox. Not alone, of course. "Maybe we can hunt for a little bit then do some battle training?" She offered with a smile. The shecat hoped they could train with another apprentice for battle training. Squirrelpaw was rather glad the weather was partly cloudy or else the heat from the sun would have drained her energy.

“You got it boss,” twitchfire replied with a swift nod to the deputy and bounded off into the grass a little further away from the patrol. He took note of honeypaw’s kind nod, returning a smile with vibrant eyes. He didn’t have trouble staying aware of his surroundings but had a hard time staying close. The young warrior was easily caught off focus. He had apprenticed in his old clan but never on a patrol. He also had to hunt on his own as a loner till he found Beeclan. Twitchfire sniffed at the air, wanting to make this as quick as possible. He could sense a quail to his left and slowly crept up to where the bird entered his vision. However, it was too late. The quail caught sight of his approach and flew off. Twitchfire muttered a swear, internalizing his anger.

Ashpaw smiled at his sisters approach. Although, he looked down to see the herbs in her jaws. He thought he could hide it this time but realized there’s no hiding things from a medicine cat apprentice. He knew that she would only grow in knowledge. “As if I can’t already do that myself,” ashpaw replied, sticking his tongue out like a kit.
