She appreciated that she could be herself around her mentor and not worry about getting into trouble. "Well, if it were up to me, I'd be a warrior by now." the young she cat beamed. She sat down but her head remained held high as if she were giving a speech. "I already know everything there is to know." Her tail flicked with satisfaction.

The tom figured that he would leave the mentor and apprentice be for now. They probably needed to discuss training before they actually got to the location. He increased his pace to catch up to stormheart and honeypaw. All that twitchfire left was a line of grass that he'd trampled on by his padding. "Hey, stormheart, how much more longer?" he'd ask, catching up to the front lines.

x ⑅ he/him ⑅ apprentice ⑅ location - camp ⑅ tags - openThe scenery was exceptionally depressing. Black sky, black trees, black earth. I guess that’s why they called it the dark forest. You couldn’t see very far past the fog of the dream, or maybe it was actually there. Shadowy cats roamed as they pleased. However, they were also trapped from the metaphorical walls of the underworld. Ashpaw didn’t know much about this place. But what he did know was that he couldn’t escape the nightly event.
“Are you serious clancat?” A voice screeched from the abyss. Ashpaw lay underneath a cat about his size, pinned to the harsh ground stained with blood. “Remember your training!” The voice called out again causing Ashpaw to scrape the underbelly of his training partner, claws unsheathed. The attacker recoiled in his injury yet wasn’t done yet with Ashpaw. He would’ve attacked again if it weren’t for the commander of the training. “That’s enough.” Ashpaw aquatenced the voice as killerwhisker, a rough dark forest she cat. He quickly got to his paws. “You’re lucky I don’t give you more wounds than what you already have.” she stated as she neared the apprentice. “Your presence here is a secret after all.” Ashpaw lowered his head, ashamed. Killerwhisker sat in front of him, shaking her head. “Speaking of; I should get you back home clancat. Next time I expect you to win. You can’t become leader if you do not show your strength.” With that, ashpaw’s vision blurred.
Ashpaw woke up with a start. His ears and yellow eyes alert. A pain shot through his shoulder and hind leg. That’s when the memory of his dream haunted his reality. He tried his best to clean the blood from the wounds. Luckily, they barely penetrated the skin. Ashpaw was glad to notice that all of his den mates had left their nests. After stretching a bit, the young tom slowly padded out of the apprentice den, hoping no one would see him. He wondered what his sister was doing but was interrupted by he growling of his belly. Ashpaw usually didn’t wake up this late so by now, he was starving. He padded over to the fresh kill pile and picked out a rabbit. He began to consume the prey, wondering what his intentions would be if he did become leader.
