The trees of the forest that house Fernclan are tall and green all year around. The clan has made its home in a collection of dens in a sizable grotto, made from huge fallen logs and outcroppings of rock. In the middle of camp is a tree stump which serves as the Tallstump, where the leader calls clan meetings.

A stream feeding into the river runs through the forest, giving the cats of Fernclan access to a few fish. However, their main prey are mice, squirrels, and bird. They have a bit more concern for animals like foxes and badgers, but they have a steadier supply of food year round.

A twoleg nest is located deep in the forest, and is a common site for medicine cats to gather their herbs. A Thunderpath is nearby as well, but most cats tend to steer clear of it.

There are two sets of rules: the warrior code, which can be broken, and the roleplay rules, which cannot be broken.

The Warrior Code is as follows:
Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors.
Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
Newly appointed warriors will be silent for one night after receiving their warrior name.
A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
After the death, exile, or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
No one can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
Clan leader's word is law.
An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless it is necessary for self-defense.
A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the five. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.

Exceptions to the Warrior Code exist and are as follows:

Cats on their way to the Moonpool or Moonstone are allowed to cross other Clans' territories to get to their destination.
Cats may travel on other Clans' grounds as long as it's to go to a Gathering.
Cats may travel on other Clan territories if they have something to report or ask for help.
The code is flexible about leadership challenges. Cats may challenge a weak or cruel leader if their Clan is in danger.

The roleplay rules are as follows:
1. Do not spam the chat; repost only once every two pages if needed.
2. There is a limit of six cats per person.
3. You must ask about any high-ranking positions.
4. Only one high-ranking position per person.
5. Keep ooc comments and any forms on the discussion thread.
6. Romance and drama are encouraged but must not be forced.
7. You cannot implement major plot elements. These must be voted on by everyone.
8. You cannot kill anyone else’s characters without permission.
9. Follow all of Tess’s rules.
10. Every 7 days in real life will be a moon’s worth of time in the rp; every week we will timeskip.
11. More rules can be added at my discretion.
