Brooke sighed stroked the mare's nose for just a second. "She looks familiar, I cant pin it."

Mel looked at Claire. "There's a new girl. Her name's Lily. She's gonna try Sterling. Yes, she's and exeprianced horsewoman!" Mel added, laughing as Claire gave her a suspicious look.

Claire smiled and grabbed the blue halter she had bought for Loan. Claire had gotten a lot of birthday money, and had bought Sterling a black one, Loan a blue one, Ginger a red one, and Cobalt a white one.

She clipped on the lead rope and led Loan out of his stall. His pinto coat gleamed, sleek and healthy.

Mel looked sullenly at Cobalt. "Poor boy! You've been trained." She opened Cobalt's mouth. Sure enough, ragged marks were on his gums. His former owner had used a very harsh bit.

She clipped on his lead rope and led him into the cross-ties.

Lily crooned to Sterling, as she brushed the mare.
