At the sounds of various cats stirring, she had also woken up and was blinking sleepily from her bedding. The others were speaking loudly outside, and she sighed softly under her breath. I guess it's time for me to wake up, Willowlight thought to herself.

There were only a few cats in the clearing, but they mingled amongst each other and didn't seem to pay much attention to her. That's alright, though. I'm terrible at talking, Willowlight added to herself in amusement and recalled the last time she talked to a cat. Her stutters always seemed to be a conversation ender, and she never talked for a long amount of time unless she was forced to.

The clan had been showing more activity at the borders, and Nightfall was unhappy with this. He currently paced along the invisible barrier and glared over the other side, waiting for cats to show up for patrol. What's with their stupid patrols anyways? Why are they so hungry for power and territory? Nightfall thought to himself. He unsheathed his claws and slowly raked the ground, making three gashes where no cat was allowed to cross to either side. They can't do anything about that. If anything, they'd just be raising another fuss over absolutely nothing actually important. Nightfall left the border and began heading back to the group, sick of going over the thoughts of the clan cats.

dawnblazetom26 moonswarriortagged: ivybriar
Dawnblaze nuzzled the top of Ivybriar's head affectionately as she rested against him. He could hear the exhaustion in her voice; that was understandable, of course. Not only were the rogues after her, but many of her own Clanmates had laid their allegiances against her. His thoughts briefly whipped to the first cat who had left, Hawkflight, and his lips curled slightly in distaste for even the memory of the warrior. No, ex-warrior--that cat no longer deserved the title of warrior. A warrior followed a code, and didn't align themselves with a faction that made slaughtering the youth their goal.

Yeah... I can see why you would be, he said, and a humorless bark of laughter left him. His ears fell flat against his head, and he gazed down at her with worried blue eyes as she spoke, bidding him to leave her and speak with Lilypool.

I don't... mean this in a rude way, of course, but... you don't seem fine. I don't know why you would be. He looked a little awkward, like he was trying his best to console her. He could tell that she was upset, even if she weakly tried to deny it. I mean, if I were in that situation... if I were to say I was fine, I'd be lying. Besides-- He tipped his head, a curled, tufted ear flicking towards Lilypool's current occupation with Liongaze. Lilypool's a little busy. I wouldn't think he would like me to come bother him, too.

russetwindshe-cat32 moonswarriortagged: fawnstar
Russetwind finished off the last of the mouse, and she could practically feel the energy coursing through her as her hunger pangs faded away. It had been a while since she'd last ate, so the mouse had certainly been heavenly as far as meals went. She sat up, turning her head to wash her back and belly with quick, firm licks of her tongue, before she stood. The red she-cat watched the entrance, gazing out as Kestrelpool and Coppertooth dashed from camp. Her gaze remained at the entrance for a moment, her yellow-green eyes alight with thought, before she shook her head lightly.

Russetwind padded towards Fawnstar, twitching her tail. She could see a bit of annoyance and a bit of worry on her expression; no doubt annoyance at the arrogant senior warrior that had 'conversed' with her, and worry for Ivybriar. Fawnstar? she meowed, a soft, quiet voice. Is there anything I can do for you, or for the Clan at the moment? There seem to be a lot of cats out hunting, so...

wolfstripetom52 moonswarriortagged: open
Wolfstripe dashed through the entrance to the cave, and he let out a low growl to himself. He'd seen the look on Fawnstar's face; he knew he caused her irritation. Unfortunately, he didn't particularly care. Good, he thought, you bother me just the same. His quick pace slowed as he hopped over a stream, and he stopped on the top of a fallen log, his claws digging into the soft moss. He inhaled deeply, tasting the air; the scent was earthy, with a taste of moisture in the air. He could smell cats, both HazeClan and rogue cats. More importantly, however, he could smell squirrel.

His ears perked and his muscular body immediately dropped closer to the log. His keen yellow eyes surveyed the surroundings until he heard a chitter, and then he saw the gray-furred squirrel. Wolfstripe stared at it for a few moments before he began to crawl forward. It was the same song and dance he had done hundreds of times before, and he stalked forward, before leaping to the squirrel. It noticed at the last moment, and raced forward. It escaped his claws, but Wolfstripe was fast and chased it as it sprinted for the nearest tree. His claws sunk into its tail and it was over with a final bite. He stood up, looking each way. It was too risky to bury the prey as he hunted for more; the rogues might find it. The Clan needed it more.

The Clan is weak, he thought, eyes narrowed. Do they even deserve such prey? What would I be doing except delaying the inevitable? He glanced down at the squirrel, raising his claws from its lifeless body. He was hungry... no one would miss a squirrel. No one important, anyway.

jaxishe-cat21 moonswarriortagged: open
Jaxi was laying in the sun, listening to the Clan about her. She could make out several voices; she could hear the crazy, berry-clawed tom requesting Darkfrost to attack, and she half-listened in, one ear pricked while the other lay flat against the ground. They hadn't had any recent raids against the Clan; not too recently, in any case. The most they had threatened in the past few suns were just marking their territory and stealing their prey, which was not a particularly difficult thing to do. One would think that a Clan would put a bit more effort into securing their borders and protecting their kin, but Clan cats certainly were an odd once.

Not that there was a whole lot the Clan could do, anyway. Even Jaxi knew their numbers were dwindling. Before, they had been the sole Clan in the forest, large and terrifying and the most powerful around. No one challenged them, until now. It was always nice to have a bit of a flip in perspective, wasn't it? The poor things. They've no idea what to do.

pipershe-cat21 moonsroguetagged: spice
Piper was sitting on her haunches in a slightly elevated portion of the camp, where a rock jutted up to help form part of the den. She was surveying the area, her ears pricked and eyes alert for any strange misdoings. Well, stranger than usual; it was no surprise that the rag-tag band of rogues had attracted a few oddities. She could see most of the active cats from here; Hemlock speaking with Darkfrost, Hawkflight brooding to himself as he was oft to do, Thorn laying at the edge of camp, looking like he was bored out of his mind. Her eyes caught sight of Spice, though, and she watched the she-cat as she paced between the den, the prey pile, the entrance, and back to the pile.

The large brown she-cat's tail flicked and she hopped from the rock, landing softly on the ground and sending a couple motes of dust flying into the air where they faded. She began to pad towards Spice, and bumped into her from behind, leaning slightly against her as she stepped forward. Her tail curled up high and she flashed Spice a playful grin, her whiskers twitching slightly. You sure do look like you're itching for action, yeah? I've never seen a free cat pace so much in my life.

《 You see the tears you think I've cried. But find your fears aren't justified. 》

The tension in the air that was being created by the clan was almost suffocating. It only served to stress me out more, I wanted everyone to see how important it was to protect Ivybriar and her kits, but there were some cats that I knew just wouldn't listen. Once they were set in their ways there wasn't much that could change their mind, I was one of those cats honestly, but I tried to use that for good. I always tried to see every side to the story rather than just seeing what I wanted to see. It seemed like the only way to really come up with a fair verdict on a situation, especially one like this. I could try all day to get everyone on the same page, but it wouldn't be enough and that made my heart feel heavier. What were we going to do if we did not all stand together? We had already been made into an easy target, now we were just setting ourselves up for failure. I sighed heavily to myself, my ears flicking at the sound of approaching paw steps. It seemed to be a rare occasion these days for someone to approach me so it caught my attention and I turned my head only to see Lilypool was the cat approaching me. I imagined that he was having a hard time with what was going on.

As Ivybriar's brother I knew he felt loyalty to her, and he agreed with Fawnstar so I greatly respected him for standing up for what he felt was right and for believing in his sibling. If only I could believe in my own brother. It was no doubt hard for Lilypool to watch some of the clan doubt Fawnstar's choice, to watch them look at his sister as if she was some sort of monster for bringing this mess onto the clan. It was like they didn't see that Darkfrost was overreacting, if he had wanted to see the kits then he shouldn't have betrayed the clan and left in the first place. How could he do that when he had a mate? If you really loved someone how could you ever leave them behind? I felt a pang in my heart at the thought, but decided not to let that hurt grow further by letting myself get slightly distracted by the tom walking next to me. I would have stopped to talk to him, but if he was content to keep pace with me then I would keep going. I felt it soothing to be on the move, it felt like if I was already in motion then I was ready for anything. Maybe that was a little bit silly, but I would rather feel prepared than feel useless in case something happened.

A soft huff was given at his wording, he certainly wasn't wrong though I wished he was. All I really wanted was to be happy and to the see the clan happy and healthy. For a moment my ears pinned to my head before I looked at him and lifted them again.
"It seems that my mind has been doing that a lot lately." My voice held little emotion, but my eyes were filled with sorrow. That lasted only for a moment before my expression became neutral. There was a time when a smile would be permanently plastered to my face and my voice was filled with laughter. How had those days been taken from me so quickly? So much tragedy had surrounded the clan, it was just about my brothers, it was about everything that happened and everything that could happen. "I'm doing as well as I can right now. What about you? Are you doing alright? Is Ivybriar doing alright?" It wasn't hard to say that I genuinely cared about the she-cat and her well being. Given that some of the clan didn't seem to share this sentiment I felt protective over her. I knew it must be hard for her, but I hoped she would be okay. I'd have to check on her at some point soon.

My attention moved over to where she was talking to Dawnblaze and my gaze lingered on her for a brief moment. There was no negativity in the way that I looked at her, just a soft concern for her safety. Before it could be considered weird how long I was looking at her I brought my attention back to Lilypool. Despite the cats that didn't agree with Fawnstar I knew that the cats who did agree with the leader would do their very best to protect Ivybriar and that brought some comfort to me. I would be with those cats, if anybody wanted to get to her and harm her or the kits then they would have to claw their way through me first, and I would make that no easy task. It was unfortunate that I not only had to worry about the rogues, but possibly members of my own clan. My clan was my family now that my real family had been torn apart. I didn't want to lose anybody else, but it was inevitable, I just wondered who I would have to say goodbye to next.

《 The pain I feel not on display. An old excuse just one of those days. 》

《 I'm not always who you think I am. Sometimes I feel like I'm the renegade. 》

Things had been rather boring around her recently. It was exciting to go and take the lives of apprentices before they even knew what hit them. The clan deserved every bit of misery they were getting. Fanwstar should have handed over Ivybriar when she had the chance, but she didn't like the fool she was. I had felt like the clan was doomed under her leadership so I left, it also helped that a pretty little rogue had caught my eye. I missed her, without her my heart didn't feel whole. I hardly felt anything when watching Mousefoot die other than satisfaction, and leaving Liongaze behind was all too easy, but the loss of my mate hit me hard. For once I was happy when she was around, now I just felt empty and angry, like I wanted to sink my claws into everything that moved, but I also just wanted to curl up and sleep the entire day away. Life had never felt fair to me, and it still didn't, but I felt like here I had a chance to make my life better unlike in the clan, in the clan I never felt like I was headed anywhere fast. Leaving them behind was the best decision I had ever made and I wouldn't be convinced otherwise.

I just wished that we could carry out another attack soon, I was itching for some action, for a distraction from my own thoughts. Maybe if I could get some revenge I would feel better, it would be a start at the very least. A small venomous smile spread across my face, making my heinous intentions clear to anybody who happened to look my way. I didn't care what others thought of me at this point, besides my animosity was not aimed at my fellow rogues, it was aimed at the clan, at Liongaze especially. The other rogues had nothing to fear from me, but I would gladly attack any clan cat that came within my reach, once I had them in my grasp I wouldn't let them go until they stopped breathing. My tail curled in delight at the thought, the clan was already having issues with all their apprentices being dead, and some cats having that same thoughts as me towards Fawnstar and her choice. Would more cats turn their backs on her? Would more cats join us? Would the clan fall? I wanted it to, I wanted to watch as their world came crashing down. It was wrong, it was so wrong for me to think like that, but knowing that just made me want it more. It would be exactly what they deserved.

My gaze drifted over to Darkfrost, wondering what he might be planning next for the clan. He got to decide what we did next, but I wondered if I could influence him with little dangerous whispers. Would he listen to my ideas? I could always try, but for now I stayed away as Hemlock approached the leader. I wasn't a huge fan of conversing with more than one other at a time, as someone who didn't think I needed friends I often tended to keep to myself. Though I didn't hold any negative feelings towards the others I just didn't think it would be worthwhile to become close with most of them. I would accept a few of them into my life as long as they didn't get in my way, but it wasn't my top concern. I huffed out a breath and flopped onto my side letting my tongue run over my paw getting it a little wet and then scrubbing at my face with the side of my paw to clean it. My dark tabby fur was sleek and healthy, despite not wanting to care about my appearance and health I knew that I needed to. I needed to be strong, and I needed to appear well put together to show that I wasn't a liability. I would not show weakness, not now, not ever.

Just gonna leave Hawkflight's post for now, I'll type up a second post for him next time I type for Liongaze.

《 And I can't just sit back and watch it fade. This time I hope you see, I'm not the enemy. 》

EelStep

Male|18 moons|SO: Open|Mood: Frustrated|Location: Camp|Tags: Open|Forum
__________________________________________________________________

Eelstep’s ears flickered like small radars at every cats word as he lay stretched out lazily on a patch of soft spring grass. Although most cats would cringe at the thought of war, Eelstep was yet to experience combat, and was quite excited. He could almost feel his claws sinking into the flesh of his littermate’s murderur as they dig into soft dirt. He heaved his bulk up, and while everyone was ingrossed in conversation he would lope out of camp alone. The young warrior thought it ok for him to go out alone, and he wandered through the Boreal Forest they called home. He would stop, turning around to a sound he had heard in a tree, he let his ears fall, but it was only just a Boreal Owl. He kept on at his steady lope, leaving light traces in the dirt. Leaning on his back legs, Eelstep would spring upwards and onto a low branch. He quickly fixed his footing and hopped to a nearby wider branch. As he laid down on the wider branch his tail hung down, twitching excitedly. He wasn’t too close to the border, but wasn’t to far away. They hadn’t seen any of the rouges recently, but he was still a bit nervous about a battle. It would be his first real battle.

Darkfrost stared at the small tom his ears twitching. Taking out a few of those Hazeclan cats didn't sound like a bad idea. His amber eyes narrowed as he considered the idea for a moment longer. He then spoke in his charming voice. "Hemlock. Taking out a few of those Hazeclan cats is a good idea. But it's at the wrong time. But hunting sounds like a good idea considering the pile of fresh-kill." he said as he flicked his tail toward the pile. "So you can take Hawkflight with you to go hunting. That should be efficient enough." he said with a nod. "I'll even do you a favor." he turned towards the spot where Hawkflight was grooming himself. "Hawkflight! Come! You are to join Hemlock on a hunting trip." he called to the tom his tail swaying. Finally, some of his cats we're doing something. Which also meant, he didn't have to hear them complaining. He turned back to Hemlock a grin on his muzzle. "Don't worry Hemlock. As long as my plan goes well-which they always have-you'll get a chance to sink you claws into those fools of Hazeclan." and with that Darkfrost turned and padded away. He was planning on attacking a patrol of those cats later on if his cats could find one. Just as a warning not to mess with his group.

Coppertooth followed Kestrelpool out of camp his ears twitching. He was wrong about his anxiety lessening if he left the camp. It was worse. He padded after the she-cat his tail swaying slowly. His fur began to bristle. He flinched and almost yowled when Kestrelpool said she smelled rogues. He quickly bounded after the warrior his tail thrashing behind him.

Skyspring listened to the she-cat's words. She nodded along her ears twitching. Of course, other members of the clan we're also feeling the same way. She didn't know what would happen next. All she knew was that whatever happened in the future wouldn't be good. She was silent as she continued to listen to the deputy's words. She knew that the she-cat must be having a horrible time. Being deputy was an important duty, and she knew that Martenfang must already have a lot on her mind besides what was going on now. She was quite for a moment longer before speaking. "Talking to others is a good way to clear your mind. At least that's what I've heard." she said quietly her ears pricked. She then added, "Also I'm sure you'll find a way to deal with all this. There was a reason why Fawnstar made you deputy. You'll find a way to get through this." she said her tail swaying. It wasn't much, but she wanted to reassure Martenfang that she would find a way to get through all this chaos.

Thorn continued to sit there his icy blue gaze scanning the camp. He wondered what he should do next. He was tired of sitting around doing nothing. He watched as Hemlock talked with their leader. Nothing interesting. He turned his gaze away and continued to scan the camp. There wasn't much to do. And he was sure his fellow rogues we're probably ignoring him anyway. Fine...I'll find something to do on my own...He rose to his paws and padded over to where the fresh-kill was kept. He would just eat for now. Someone was sure to go hunting later on anyway. He picked a mouse and padded back to his spot. He sat down with a sigh and began to eat his meal.

Spice watched the rogues camp through narrowed amber eyes. She sometimes wondered why she even joined the group. Sometimes, they could be so boring. Her tail twitched as she thought about the cats of Hazeclan. They we're fools if they thought they could keep those kits. Maybe soon they could take down a few of those worthless fur balls. Her tail swayed at the thought. She was itching to dig her claws into something. She unsheathed and sheathed her claws absently lost in thought. Maybe, she could go hunting. It wasn't Hazeclan cats but it was something. She was just about to decide whether to go hunting or not when she felt something bump into her. Or rather someone. Her ears twitched, and she knew who it was before she saw the cat. She knew that voice. Her gaze landed on the cat which confirmed it. It was Piper. She hissed her eyes narrowing to slits. "What's it to you? You don't seem to be doing anything better." she asked as her fur began to bristle.

Fawnstar's ears twitched as she watched two warriors leaving camp on their own for the hunt Russetwind mentioned - and she felt a mild stir of unease.
"Yes, I'd appreciate it," she replied. "Come with me; we're joining Coppertooth and Kestrelpool. That patrol is much too small to defend against the rogues." What were they thinking, going off by themselves?

If they went on their own, they'd surely be found far too late. Her eyes narrowed and she padded out of camp, following their scents with a flick of her tail to summon the red warrior after her.
It didn't take long to catch up with them, and she tipped her head up, meowing, "Coppertooth. Kestrelpool. We'll be joining you." There was firmness in her voice. "We have to be careful when leaving camp. Two warriors is much too small for a patrol right now." Besides...she wanted to see if they would find Wolfstripe. She didn't trust a hair on his pelt.

lilypool wrote:male | 26 moons | warrior | heart set on dawnblaze | location: camp | tags: liongaze

Lilypool tipped his head, nodding in understanding. The tom was going through a lot, too; certainly much more than himself, at least. He'd lost a littermate right after the other abandoned the clan and essentially spat in his brother's face - Lilypool wasn't sure how he'd react if his sister had done anything like that to him. She was so sweet-natured, it was hard to imagine - but...it was unsettling, nonetheless.
"I'm living," he mewed, "but life isn't exactly easy when you're constantly having to keep an eye on someone. I'm sure you understand." Lilypool wouldn't dare tell another cat about Ivybriar's escape attempts, but he figured it was easy enough to interpret how hard he was working to defend her with so many cats seeming ready to throw her out at the bat of an eye.

"And...she's not taking it well." His tone softened, almost melting into concern. He hated being so vulnerable in front of other cats, but seeing how much this situation was eating Ivybriar up inside was hurting him the most. "She's ready to start kitting any day now, and...she's terrified that it'll result in more death. I am, too. But I just..." Lilypool shook his head, ears flat. "It isn't her fault. If I had watched someone I love leave the clan, I couldn't just..."

His eyes followed Liongaze's, though in the moment, his own eyes settled on Dawnblaze.
"It's not easy to just cut off your feelings. She didn't know what would happen." He turned his head away. "It's as if half the clan wants to find fault with someone who thought she was doing something harmless. It isn't her fault Darkfrost demanded his kits. And it isn't her fault or Fawnstar's that he's decided to kill for them." He let out a breath.

"StarClan surely sides with us on this. Those kits are ours. Anyone who thinks otherwise have forgotten what it means to be part of this clan." Restlessly, his tail flicked, forcing himself to slowly relax.
"Do you want to talk to her yourself?" he asked eventually. "Dawnblaze looks like a kit trying to learn how to speak. I'd better rescue him," he added lightheartedly. "I'm sure she'd like someone who understands what she's going through to comfort her right now." For some reason...he trusted the warrior around his sister. He was gentle-tempered, and he looked like he needed comfort just as much as she did.

    ivybriar wrote:female | 26 moons | queen | future romance w/ liongaze | location: camp | tags: dawnblaze

Ivybriar's eyes squeezed closed as Dawnblaze nuzzled her head, feeling a rush of comfort that she desperately needed. Never having a mother or father to raise her out of kithood had affected herself and her brother, surely, but Dawnblaze had always been her personal form of comfort. Lilypool...saw him a different way, she knew, and she couldn't help but understand why. He's so hot-tempered, but...he understands. Dawnblaze wasn't the best with words, but he was a beam of sunlight in the piercing cold of leaf-bare for her, especially now.

Her eyes followed Dawnblaze's and she saw her brother speaking with Liongaze, a warrior who had been quite obviously invested in following Fawnstar and keeping her and her kits safe. She couldn't help the way her heart twinged when she looked at the handsome tom, but she looked away once more as soon as she felt it. I can't believe myself, she thought viciously, her ears pinned back as she sighed. Am I forever cursed to love things I can't reach? Not only was this the worst time to even consider another mate - what sane cat would willingly want to be near Ivybriar and her baggage - not to mention her kits - in any spectrum of romantic interest? She pushed those thoughts away, instead looking up at Dawnblaze.

"He likes when you bother him," she mewed simply, a hint of stubbornness entering her tone. She wanted to be alone, yet...she wanted Dawnblaze to stay, too. She didn't want to have to face the other cats who hated her right now. She felt Moonshade's eyes stabbing into her like claws, and she shifted uncomfortably. "I promise I'm all right, if you want to go on patrol or something.." Her stomach rumbled, making her ears flatten in distaste. She couldn't eat anything now. There were other warriors hungry...

    moonshade wrote:female | 36 moons | warrior | possible romance w/ smokefang | location: camp | tags: smokefang

Moonshade continued to groom her sleek fur calmly as Smokefang approached - and she admittedly felt a twinge of annoyance. Hm. Aside from Smokefang's obvious admiration of her, Moonshade knew little to nothing about the she-cat. She did find it irritating, solely because she had sworn her loyalty to the rogues, and considered any friendly cats more agitating than normal. Being friendly with her could cause unwanted attachment, and could dismantle her true loyalties. Yet...hm. Maybe this she-cat could be of use, anyway. I just can't let myself get attached.

"No," she mewed simply. "I know how to hide my scent from them. They're stupid enough not to investigate some rustling branches if there's no scent to track." Well, she wasn't wrong. Some of the rogues were stupid; she was just waiting for the day that that foolish former kittypet, Hemlock, licked his paws without cleaning off the berry juice first. She'd have a good, long laugh over that one.

"The mice were easy enough to find," she added, drawing her tongue over her paw to give her ear a final wash before she stretched, her green eyes washing over Smokefang once more. "It's just a shame it has to go to that fat traitor. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if she ate my whole catch," she sniffed; normally she was much more cautious with how she spoke, but she knew well enough how much this warrior hated Ivybriar - she could at least relish in her hatred with this one.

Having been awake for a while now, Aspenflame flicked his fluffy tail, his ears perked as he observed the cats milling around camp. While some were going hunting - a risky move, in his opinion, for such small groups to be going hunting - the others were murmuring in troubled tones to one another, which was admittedly lowering the morale of all of them. Even the mood of the camp seemed gloomy, and the tom shook his head sadly; what had become of the HazeClan he had seen as so vibrant and trusting of one another?

It's as though we've become no better than rogues ourselves. Are we not sworn by our code to obey our leader's words and to protect our queens and kits? He felt it was...foolish, almost, that he, a former loner - Half-Clan, at least, but still yet a loner - felt more faith in his clan and the code he had sworn to uphold than some of these cats who acted as though they had better things to do. It ruffled his pelt, surely, but not as much as it would have when he were a younger, more reckless warrior.

The large senior warrior finally rose to his paws and padded toward Morningheart, a young she-cat whose leg was injured, but hadn't let it stop her from becoming a warrior. That made warmth wash over him; being so determined to serve her clan that no injury would stop her - that was true faith. But he still knew that the freshly-named warrior was troubled by what was going on, especially considering she had just been a 'paw only a moon or two ago, and was just as vulnerable as any apprentice would have been.
Still, he dipped his head to her, sitting beside the much smaller cat with a friendly warmth in his amber eyes.
"You seem troubled," he murmured, the breeze rippling through their fur as though StarClan itself were answering him. "Though, that seems to be the taste washing over every cat's tongue right now." Oh, but for all the wrong reasons...

"True," Smokefang said as she unsheathed her claws on her left paw, and started to examine them, just to see if they were sharp enough. "I don't understand Fawnstar in the least. One life- well not even a life- the rouges wouldn't kill her! One cat versus the lives of young apprentices? How does that make any sense?" She struck the ground with her claws, wishing it was Fawnstar instead. "I can't believe how mouse-brained she is. I guess it proves that she doesn't care about her clan, only a select few."

Smokefang always had negative views on her leader, but recently it seemed that her assumptions were correct. Fawnstar really doesn't care about the clan, only for her friends and cats that agree with her. Smokefang was surprised that Fawnstar didn't kick her out by now due to how much she bad-mouthed her. Not only that but Smokefang constantly got in fights with other cats, and sometimes even started to scratch them, but someone would always intervene. Speaking of which, she hadn't gotten in a scrap in a while, and she didn't want to get rusty.

"Say, why don't we go looking for the rouges?" Smokefang asked, a mischievous smirk appearing across her face. "I mean, they clearly wouldn't expect us to bring the fight to them. They seem a bit too cocky."

After he had been lounging around for a while and no Rouge scents had entered his nose, he relaxed. His short tail didn’t help with balance so he kept shifting around as to not fall, but other that that he was quite comfortable on the low branch. It would be a few more moments before Eelstep would think about doing his duty. He let out a yawn, grumble to himself and then stand. He leaped awkwardly off the branch, and pad a few tail lengths away from the tree.

[ KOISTREAM: 01 ]

Postby astrohund » Thu Mar 07, 2019 8:20 am

        KOISTREAM
        xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxopen for interaction
indentationIt was noon, midday. The wind whistled a steady tune, the birds were singing vibrantly and the sun's rays beat down on all of them━seeping between their pelts and into their skin. Those who were of long-haired blood should beware of its wrath, for the sun was not so forgiving━and it was only Newleaf, so adjacent to Greenleaf but also so far and out of sight. Finally had Leaf-Bare had liquefy away into the rivers and lakes, its presence was no longer to be seen for now. No more harsh snow storms and intolerable frostbite, the clan could now live in peace without being on the brink of death every day of their life. They could be free, now that Newleaf was here━a new day, a new season.

indentationThe soft, hushed bristling noises of grasses grazing up against a large moving mass could be heard faintly, as if a predator was trailing near. The tom could exactly be considered a predator, from the way he moved through the brush and the carnivorous look in his eyes━━he was out for blood, looking for a hunt. His own gullet vibrated and reverberated with low, neutral growl━━his nostrils flaring and expanding as he scented the air. Though, there was nothing near, he couldn't seem to find another scent. He knew he should've paid more attention to his previous hunt, that squirrel hurried away before he could even make his attempt. He should just be considered a mouse-brain if he didn't know how to catch a damned squirrel, what cat didn't even know how to catch its own prey? He bet even a kittypet could do it if they had the luck. Admittedly, he knew he was no good at hunting, he just wasn't the best hunter━━but, at least he could fish well. However, the river was a while away, and he had no plans of traveling there today.

indentationThe calico had settled on top of higher ground, glancing down at all that was at a lower level. His golden eyes appeared luminescent in this shaded area, like the color of brightly hued tree sap that came from sweet maple trees. His large ears descended down onto the side of his skull and drooped, almost giving him the appearance of canine━━they rotated upon hearing the slightest of noises, a gift for a predator━━what made them hunt so well, all except for him it seemed. Koistream huffed and curled up beneath the shivering pine, strong breezes pushing their way past them and ruffling his fur. He was well awake earlier in the morning, before the sun ascended, and he was unable to refute the fact that he was coming to be a bit weary. Gladly, Koistream had risen up in the morning from a sleep free from any unsettling and peculiar dreams━━he was actually able to rest his body properly for what felt like the first time in moons. He enjoyed it without unfamiliar faces and abnormal voices━━those faces and voices he never came to recognize or understand, speaking to him as if they knew him. But... he couldn't help but kind of wondered if they did.

indentationAlthough he was resting, Koistream didn't dare let his guard down. He knew his fair share about the group of rogues that could be lurking near. He'd overheard that they were looking for new warriors for their group, their leader━━Darkfrost━━had been gathering up new vassals... and then there was Ivybriar. Koistream couldn't hold back his worry any longer, and even he was worried for the she-cat━━but more specifically, her kits. They needed to be protected and kept away, if one of the rogues were to find them once they were born then all hell would break loose. Plus, Darkfrost did want more warriors after all.

"Alright, Fawnstar, lead the way." She took a step back for her leader to take over, wandering slightly away to bring up the rear. Her ears were pricked anxiously, as if waiting for a rouge to jump out at her with absolutely no warning signs. She remembered snippets of Fidgetpaw and Windpaw's deaths, shaking her head to clear her thoughts.
