Echopaw followed her mentor with a last eyeroll at Thunderpaw. "Alright." She responded to Koisplash's request. The apprentice took a few quiet steps forward, jaws open to taste the air. The trees near the start of the mountains thinned, but the bushes didn't. After a moment of silence, a light rustling near a patch of ferns caught her attention. She dropped into a careful hunting crouch and slowly pulled herself towards the noise, staying low to ground. Trying her best not to let Koisplash's attentive gaze bother her, Echopaw tensed her hindlegs and pushed herself forward. Claws out, the small cat pounced square on top of a mouse, killing it swiftly. Thank StarClan I didn't lose it. She thought with gratitude for the clean catch.

Shadowbounce gave a curt nod and turned in the opposite direction the she-cats chose. "Let's see what we can find." He commented quietly to Thunderpaw, feeling the need to appear strong in front of the younger tom.

Koisplash followed after her apprentice, making sure to keep a safe distance and prevent any type of distraction for the younger fae's hunting. She trotted up as the fae pounced on the mouse, a light purr rising in her throat at the sight of her apprentice, who was obviously doing well when it came to her training "Well done. You'll be a warrior in no time." The tabby fae gave her apprentice's cheek a quick lick before turning and giving the clearing a quick scan, looking out for any other unsuspecting animals she could hunt. With a quick glance toward her apprentice, Koisplash padded onward, her ears perking at the sound of scurrying on the forest floor a few fox-lengths in front of her. The bi-eyed fae dropped down to the earth, being sure to keep her fluffy tail still in the air as she crept forward, her attention focused on the source of the sound, a medium sized squirrel. With a small wiggle of her rump, the large warrior leapt forward, her paws landing square on the creatures back before she bent her skull down to give its neck a strong bite. Koisplash dug herself a small hole, dropped her prey in, and scraped the dirt back overtop, being sure to keep her kill safe so she could come back to retrieve it when they made their way back to camp.

Batpaw pulled himself up straight and focused his attention on the older tom, a wave of relief washing over him at the thought of actually doing something "I'd like to do some climbing if that's ok.. I've been lacking in that area lately." The raven-haired apprentice shot his mentor a weak smile before giving his pelt a strong shake, removing any of the residual fatigue left behind by his lack of sleep.

Scorchfire let out a small chuckle as his apprentice bounded off toward the camp's entrance, obviously eager to get their training started. He couldn't complain.. he was happy he'd been given an apprentice will so much drive and enthusiasm for learning. Rushpaw would obviously become a great warrior.. that is if he could finish his training of course. The tabby tom jumped to his paws and raced after the smaller tom, his fluffy tail dragging along the grassy earth behind him "I'll follow after you, kid."

Nodding, she looked at Shimmerpaw and thought carefully. Noting the nice weather and warmth, she agreed with Cypressblossom's suggestion of the forest, assuming the prey would want to stay in the shade as well. "Alright, that sounds good to me, good idea Cypressblossom! Shimmerpaw, are you ready to go?" she inquired, tilting her head as she looked at her apprentice.

Waking up to the sun coming into the apprentice den, Gingerpaw blinked and sighed, his normally peppy and ready to go mood was a bit dampened due to the grieving the day before. Although Thorneye was a bit cranky at time, he always offered good help to others. Shaking his head and sitting up, he looked over at Echopaw and smiled to himself. Looking away, he padded out into the clearing of camp, and was reintroduced to the stabbing sadness as he realized that no patrols were being organized, and everyone was sitting around looking glum, just another reminder Thorneye was gone. He sat down a bit away from the den, and began to groom himself quickly, as he thought to himself.

Echopaw watched her mentor continue ahead, glowing with admiration at Koisplash's swift, smooth movements. Not wanting to interrupt the warriors hunt, the apprentice moved in a new direction, placing her paws gently on the forest floor. After a short minute of scenting the air, the light pecking of a sparrow caught her attention. The young she-cat maneuvered her slim silver body through the grass as best as she could, but the lush green meadow made her pelt stick out like a sore paw. The sparrow flapped its wings in a panic, flying higher with a distress call when Echopaw attempted to save her kill with a bold leap. Mousedung! The apprentice stared up at her lost catch with a deep sigh for a moment before turning to seek out more prey.

Once she was finished burying her catch, the tabby fae turned around to watch her apprentice. She cringed at the sound of the bird's warning call, her pelt prickling at the high pitched sound, and the flurry of wings that followed after the escapee. She let out a small chuckle and padded up to her apprentice, her tail moving to drape across the younger fae's shoulders "Don't worry about it, you'll get the next one." Koisplash let out a small chuckle before turning away to find another animal she could go after. She dropped down, her amused gaze focused intently on a mouse as he darted out from behind a tree. She bunched up her hindlegs and pushed off of the earth, her long claws clamping around the small creature as she caught up to it. Before it could let out an alarmed squeak, she clamped her jaws around its neck and dropped it to the earth, where she could make yet another hole.

Thunderpaw nodded, heading along the edge of the forest. He was careful keep his paws light and ears pricked for any sounds of prey. Soon, he slowed down and came to a stop, opening his jaw to taste the air. He caught movement in the corner of his eye and turned to spot a small sparrow hopping about in the shade of a tall tree. The bird was obviously clumsy and young, being that it was right out in the open, so Thunderpaw didn't expect it to be a difficult catch. He crouched low and moved toward the bird. A quick leap and bite left the sparrow dangling from his jaws.

Echopaw nodded with another sigh in response to her mentors reassurance rising to her paws and scenting the air once more.
The apprentice stated stone still while Koisplash swiftly captured the mouse, flicking her tail to silently acknowledge the warriors excellent hunt. Ears perked, she continued into more rocky area where the mountain started. She was determined to find one last piece of prey. Her hope soared when she saw a small tuft of light brown rabbit fur caught on a small, twiggy bush. Echopaw followed the fresh scent trail especially carefully, focusing on all the hunting skills she'd been taught over her moons of training. The rabbit was nibbling calmly on a patch of grass, eyelids half-closed. Once the small cat was a foxlength away, the rabbit stiffened and hopped away, rapidly gaining speed. Not so fast! Echopaw used all her saved breath and gave chase, claws flicking up earth behind her. She gradually gained on the rabbit, scratching its hindquarters and slowing its pace. Finally, she had a firm grasp on its shoulders and lost no time snapping its neck. "Thank you for your life, it will not be wasted." The apprentice whispered a prayer she'd heard warriors use after a hunt many times.
Echopaw padded back to Koisplash, eyes gleaming with pride as the rabbit bumped against her chest. She set down her prey and heaved a few deep gulps of air to gain her breath back.

"Good catch." Shadowbounce congratulated Thunderpaw, impressed with the young cat's skill. The warrior tasted the air to search or his own catch, slipping further into the territory once he caught the scent of a squirrel. As he got closer, he heard the rodent gnawing on a chestnut by the roots of a tree. The young warrior circled around the trunk until he was downwind, silently thanking StarClan for his black overcoat. Shadowbounce dug his back claws into the earth and leaped forward, only having to chase the squirrel with a few quick bounds before he had his prey hanging lifeless from his jaw.

Koisplash watched as her apprentice chased after the fast creature, a feeling of pride swelling in her chest at the sight of the talented fae. She jumped to her paws as the younger she-cat returned with the rabbit hanging limp in her jaws, a loud chuckle rising in her throat "Excellent catch Echopaw! I definitely would have lost that one." The tabby warrior gave her apprentice's shoulder a friendly lick and turned back toward her buried prey, her tail swaying contently behind her "We should head back, I'll dig up my prey and then we'll go find the others." The bi-eyed fae returned to the places she'd hid her catches, her long claws making quick work of the soil as she dug them up. With the prey hanging limp in her jaws, she padded back over to where her apprentice stood, a large smile spreading across her maw "Alright. Let's go find Shadowbounce and Thunderpaw." Koisplash returned to the place the patrol had split up, her gaze landing on a familiar black and white pelt in the distance.. Shadowbounce. With a small glance at her apprentice, the warrior raced forward, her paws skidding to a halt in front of the two cats "We've finished our hunt, how about the two of you?"

Echopaw sat panting, icy blue eyes shining with happiness. "Maybe I should have just lost it. I'm going to be out of breath for the rest of my life!"
As Koisplash went to retrieve her catches, the apprentice slowly made her way over to the mouse she had hidden not far from there. The two she-cats trotted to the meeting place to join back with the rest of the patrol. I can't wait to see Thunderpaw's face. Echopaw thought smugly, reassuring the grip on her catch to skip after her mentor. It was fairly small for a rabbit, but still a large piece of fresh-kill.

Shadowbounce purred as Koisplash skidded to a halt in front of him, followed a few moments after by Echopaw. As he had headed back from chasing his squirrel, he had stopped to pluck a sparrow from its flock. Both pieces of prey had been hanging from his jaws by their tails, which he now dropped to respond to the other warrior. "I'm done, and I'm sure Thunderpaw will be soon." The other apprentice was out of sight, but quiet pawsteps showed he would return momentarily. "Nice rabbit." The tom meowed with a gesturing nod. "You've trained her well, Koisplash." He added, smiling breifly at the mentor and wondering how he would like an apprentice.

Koisplash chuckled lightly at her apprentices words, her fluffy tail moving to lay overtop the fae's shoulders. She smiled at the tuxedo tom, her gaze fixating on his eyes as he complemented her "Thank you, I sure hope I have." A light purr rose in her throat as she glanced down at their haul, her mouth watering at the sight "We all did great. I'm sure the rest of the clan will be extremely grateful for all of this." Koisplash glanced between her two companions, a smile spreading across her face as she waited for the male apprentice to appear before them, his own jaws full of prey.
