FloodClan is a tightly knit group of cats living in the swamps of the Everglades. They've been settled here for generations, protecting themselves and each other from outsiders and the treacherous environment of their home. When the threats turn from the outside in, the cats of FloodClan must decide if their Clan loyalty or the favor of StarClan comes first.
History: FloodClan originated from three siblings - two sisters and a brother. These littermates grew up in the city, where it was every cat fighting for themself. Disgusted by the lack of compassion shown by most city cats, they gathered a small group of trustworthy cats and journeyed into the swamps, becoming the first leader, deputy, and medicine cat, and marking the beginning of FloodClan. For generations the Clan thrived, bravely facing the hardships they had to endure to keep their community strong. Recently, however, the new leader has been denied their nine lives from their StarClan ancestors. The new leader denounced StarClan, banning their worship and condemning any cat who chose to continue to follow the stars.
Clan Culture: FloodClan tends to shun outsiders from their Clan, but embraces the individuality in their ranks. Cats who wish to join must sleep outside of camp until they've proven their loyalty. FloodClan cats have an affinity for storytelling, and almost always gather together to eat and share tales at the end of the day. It is customary that elders eat before everyone, though exceptions are made when there are queens in FloodClan. The leader typically spends a large amount of time with his Clan to get to know everyone individually, but there have been known outliers. FloodClan cats are varied in appearance, but tend towards brown, grey, and black coats, green and yellow eyes, and medium to large builds.
Warrior Code:
1. Defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life.
2. Elders and queens are to be fed first.
3. Prey is killed only to be eaten.
4. A kit must be six moons old to become an apprentice.
5. New warriors must bring an offering to the Moonledge keep a silent vigil for one night.
6. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
7. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
8. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
9. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
10. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from outside the Clan.
11. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
12. An warrior will not kill other cats unless it is necessary for self-defense.
13. A warrior rejects the dishonorable life of a city cat.
14. StarClan is not to be worshipped or communicated with.
