Willowbee was crouched under the shelter of a tree overhanging the camp, ears flicking away drips of rain. Her eyelids drooped drowsily as she eyed the apprentice's den, waiting to see when Sandypaw would emerge. As the striped warrior waited, she considered what training they could do to take advantage of the weather.

The small orange apprentice was curled up tight in her nest, the sound of rain and the scent of herbs unknowingly soothing her in her sleep. Zestpaw was dreaming of a lush forest; sunlight filtering through the high tree leaves, birdsong echoing off the tall trunks.

Dappledstar arose with the dawn and sat outside her lonely den. Head pointed up to greet the falling rain, feeling the drops nuzzle into her fur as the fell, Dappledstar lingered in the hushed, monotone noise the rain brought and wished the day would continue peaceful.

Ravenheart huffed at the gloom outside. Bundled tightly in his nest, tucked away in the far backer parts of the den he glared at the rain. How miserable. Surely the young tom wasn't planning on going out in this weather, the rain would ruin his coat and the cold would just make him sluggish. With a huff, Ravenheart turned over to his side and closed his eyes again.

The pale tom snoozed peacefully in his nest, the sound of the drizzle on top of the apprentice's den a comforting sound to his ears.

Weasellight woke when the first rays of faint sun leaked into the den. He sat up, his ears flicking up as he recognized the sound of rain, and soon his mind started drifting to the day's patrols. The large tom stretched as he stood and began to pad out of the den when a noise briefly caught his attention. He turned in time to see Ravenheart move, and the deputy's tail twitched before he finally exited the den. Without much thought, Weasellight made his way to his leader's side and sat beside her so their pelts brushed. "Raining day," he meowed softly. "The cats won't be too excited about patrols today."

Her pleasant sleep was interrupted by a chill floating into her den. With a sigh, the ginger she-cat realized she wouldn't be able to fall back asleep. She rose out of her nest and trotted out of the strong-smelling den, choosing a sheltered edge of the camp to groom herself.

Dappledstar opened her green eyes, head still pointed up at the clouds. She didn't look at the deputy as she felt his fur against hers. "They'll live." Her voice as monotone as the rain's pattering. With a soft sigh, the tall she-cat turned her head to look at Weasellight. "You wouldn't mind leading first border patrol, would you?"

"Willowbee," Weasellight called as he approached her. "How would you and Sandypaw join me on the first patrol before you start training for the day?"
