Wolfstar's yellow eyes scanned his clan. Was Heavyoak ready? He glanced around and spotted his deputy, talking to a couple of warriors. Good, he must be getting ready for the day.

Kestralpaw just rolled her eyes. "He treats me like a kit every time." She muttered her explanation, dipping her head and flattening her ears slightly. Ripplepaw's pounce forced a surprised squeak from the smaller apprentice and Kestralpaw just barely managed to say on all fours. "You have as much skill as a three-legged kittypet!" Kestralpaw teased, playfully patting at Ripplepaws head with her two front paws. "Besides, if anybody's gonna be showing off, it's gonna be me!".

Heavyoak gave a small laugh and a head shake at the apprentices. "I'm quite sure both of you will excellent skill, but first." Heavyoak paused to give Kestralpaw a quick lick between the ears, dislodging a scrap of nest moss that got tangled into her long coat. Kestralpaw protested with a whine, which pulled an amused purr from the tom. "You two go eat, you'll need the energy. How about a join training session after patrols are done, what do you say, Coppersnap?"

"Ok," Owlpaw replied, happy that he would have time to eat. He pick up a small piece of prey a sat down, chewing it slowly while looking around camp.

' 'Of course,' ' the molly mewed, telling herself to get something later. Maybe if the rain died down. She waved Robinpaw away with a flick of her tail and turned to pick out some celandine from the herb storage. She straightened out the petals appreciatively, nodding absentmindedly.
