in the center of a large pine forest, there is a gentle lake covered in lilies with a small island in the middle. for as long as anyone in the forest can remember, this island has been lilyclan's home, only accessible via stepping stones in the low tide. these cats are known for their peaceful, easy-going natures, long fur, and webbed paws. they're pacifists and look down on fighting, violence, and negativity. they are also quite spiritual and believe heavily in starclan. currently, life in lilyclan is peaceful, as usual. the clan has just finished mourning the loss of their previous leader, blossomstar, who passed on due to old age. she was a wise and kind leader who had a strong bond with each of her clanmates. her son, swiftstream, has just received his nine lives and become swiftstar. as a young leader, how will he adjust to running the clan in his mother's pawsteps?

rules & guidelines
i. no mary/gary sues, overpowered characters, or god-modding
ii. realistic names are necessary, but traditional ones are not
iii. semi-unrealistic appearances are alright, as long as they aren't crazy
(ex. a black cat with blue eyes or a brown tabby with blue eyes is okay, but
not a black cat with glowing neon red eyes and magical pink stripes)
iv. please try to keep the genders even.
v. please post at least twice a week, or your characters will be removed (unless
you have a reason to be inactive, which i totally understand.)
vi. cats must be heterosexual/cisgendered to keep things realistic. if that's not
your cup of tea then no one's making you join.
vii. keep the drama for the rp. any kind of ooc hate will result in strikes/bans.
viii. no being your own mate, crush, mentor, or apprentice.
ix. please note that lilyclan cats mostly have brown or silver fur and long coats.
x. rules may be added or removed as i see fit

swiftstar.

a pair of pale green eyes peered into the darkness of the den surrounding them. it was early morning, swiftstar knew this. as usual, he was one of the first cats to wake up in lilyclan. he had habits of not getting a good nights rest, but he was used to it by now. sleep just didn't come to him easily. with a sigh, the large grey tom stood up and stretched out his long limbs, walking outside. as he pushed the flowering vines that covered the entrance of his den to the side, he was temporarily blinded by the light of the rising sun, peering through the trees as it reflected on the water. swiftstar's eyes adjusted before he laid down on the highledge to do some sunning while the rest of the clan woke up. he was calm, but slightly anxious. he was yet to pick a deputy since becoming leader and it was starting to eat at him. he needed to choose one, quickly. he had a few candidates in mind, but one stood out more than the others.

softpaw.

the medicine cat apprentice hadn't slept a wink, she was up all night sorting herbs. this was a usual thing for softpaw, no one really kept her in check so it was fine. she didn't need a lot of sleep to begin with, so going one or two days without a nap wasn't a problem for her. with a sigh, she looked at the well-organized piles before her and smiled to herself, satisfied. maybe her mentor would notice her hard work. she hoped so, at least.

aspenwing.

with a gentle purr, the stunning calico gently stirred as her dream came to a close. a pair of light grey-green eyes peered across the expanse of the warrior's den, noticing everyone was still asleep. with a light sigh, aspenwing rose and stretched before quickly padding outside. she decided to go for an early morning hunt to replenish the fresh-kill pile. a pair of small paws padded into the forest before quickly reaching the beach. aspenwing carefully stood there, looking into the water while being as still as possible, before a few failed attempts to catch a fish. eventually she got one, and then another, and brought them both back into the camp, her fur a bit damp. by the time she got back, cats were beginning to wake up, so she was glad she wouldn't have to be alone all morning.

eagletalon.

the brown tabby tom hadn't been sleeping too well, but still, the morning seemed to come too quickly. he'd had a lovely dream of some future scenario, him curled up with a beautiful shecat and two kits. still, he knew he wasn't really ready for a family, it was just his instincts telling him to go find a mate. eagletalon sighed and stood up, padding outside as the clan began to get up for the day. he sat down and began quietly grooming himself in the corner of the camp, hoping for some excitement.

stoneshadow.

energy. stoneshadow actually had energy. he was usually tired and chronically grumpy, but for some reason, he felt different today. maybe it was because of a certain someone, but he didn't want to admit it. he'd found his eyes straying to a beautiful shecat for the past few days, but... was he getting weak? did he have... a crush? no, absolutely not. stoneshadow didn't do crushes. not on his watch. the grey tabby tom walked outside, noticing he was awake a bit later than normal. he didn't really care, though. he had to sort out his feelings first.

leopardpaw.

the small calico had been awake for about an hour before everyone else, suffering from a nightmare that she was quite shaken by. she hadn't been sleeping through the night for weeks now, but no one seemed to notice or care, so she didn't bother to tell anyone. leopardpaw sighed softly, stepping out into the sunlight and letting it warm her fur as she looked around to see if her mentor was awake or not.

Smoothing down her soft brown fur, Mossheart sat up from her nest and stretched. Although she had woken up just a few minutes ago, she was already awake. Blue eyes bright, she padded out of the warrior's den and found a spot to enjoy the sun until she found out what was going on that morning. She smiled at her clanmates as they went about their business, simply happy with the bright morning. Resting her eyes on Stoneshadow for a moment, she wondered if it was time to try and cheer up her grumpy friend, but seeing that he seemed distracted, she decided to not bother him for the moment.
