Speckledmoon wasn’t the one to try to threaten, nor try to show dominance, but in this situation she felt as if she had no choice. She couldn’t figure out what the cat would do, or how he’d react. There were too many possibilities, and all of them seemed to end horribly. This cat’s sinister grin and attitude had frightened Speckledmoon, and left her on edge.
“You’re looking for Hawkstar, hmm?” Speckledmoon straightened up and her fur flattened against her back. Her lip was curled into a snarl, as she tried to seem more commanding than she felt. “Since Hawkstar is not here, I shall speak on his behalf.” What is wrong with this cat? He’s so empty, I’ve never seen a cat like him? He doesn’t... seem... it seems like he’s not alive? Speckledmoons thoughts raced as she spoke. “I am Speckledmoon, the deputy of Waveclan. If you truly wish to join the clan, you will do it on my terms.” What if he challanges me? I can’t fight, I can only think. That’s all I’m good for. Thinking. Great in situations like this, ha. I hope Lilypool doesn’t mind. I’m so useless. “You will face us on the ground. You will not harm any cat on this territory. I don’t trust you, so you’ll stay here while one of us gets our leader. Leaving or arguing with us will result in you being banished from our territory. We do not trust you.”
Speckledmoon snarled, and tried to keep her composure. She rarely had to be this stern. Once in a while if her apprentice needed scolding or if something was going wrong she’d act like this, but that was very rare and only in dire circumstances. Would I have to act like this more often if I was a leader? Speckledmoon didn’t like that thought. She enjoyed being playful and liked her pointless thoughts. She didn’t enjoy having to act like this. Perhaps it wasn’t even acting, maybe it was just a different part of her that she wasn’t aware of until now.
