Parsleykit frowned. He didn't like how upset Sparkflight sounded. Maybe? Your tail looks all blackish, like everything else. How am I supposed to tell it apart? He sniffed around a bit and pounced on something furry that smelled like his mother. Is this your tail? He murmured, unaware he was touching one of her back paws.

Mothkit smiled. She hadn't expected Blazepaw to actually play with her, seeing as he would probably be busy with apprentice duties. But Moonpetal didn't seem too interested in starting training now, she was sitting and snickering. Maybe.. we could play with this? Mothkit purred as she picked up a moss ball.

Sparkflight began to panic. She had heard about this disease from her mother Larksong. However, it was very rare, and she had never expected one of her kit to be affected by it. "No, that's by back paw sweetie," she said, trying to keep the fear out of her voice. She licked her kit fondly before stumbling off to the medicine cat den. She needed to talk to her aunt, Lilytail. As she reluctantly padded across the clearing, she felt a sinking feeling deep in her chest. She now knew her beloved kit would not become a warrior. No! she thought, shaking her head. He will still be a part of this clan, and I will still love him as fiercely as any of my other kits! Sparkflight strode powerfully towards the medicine den. "Lilytail?" she called in cautiously.
