Tucker padded around silently, sniffing the air. She had been accompanied in the city for a while, hiding in allies and eating scraps. But sadly the humans started to get suspicious, seeing Tucker many times at night. Many had tried to lure Tucker in with food but Tucker knew better and had bolted off. She had somehow ended up in the forest. She was trembling, scenting that their was dogs near. She shook her head and remained as silent as a mouse.

Vertigo was still barking at Mooie, when she scented a new dog(Tucker). Two in a day, she thought and barked louder, trying to get the other dog's attention.

After loosening her muscles, Garnet padded across her yard to stand on the back porch and peer through the invisible sliding door. Oh, when the light was shining from the right direction one could see it shine off the hard material or even catch a glimpse of their own reflection, but the door was still more or less invisible. This made it easy for Garnet to check on the progress of her pack's meal. Alphess was busily preparing food in the steam-place. Big, shiny pots sat high up on a high, flat surface. Steam rose from most of them, hence the name Garnet had given the place. Steam-places were essential for humans. No matter how many houses she had moved to each had a steam-place, though they were not always arranged the same way. Beta was whining as he placed flat food bowls in their regular places. Yes. The table was almost ready for her pack's food. As omega, Garnet was quite happy to wait her turn, though she often caught herself fantasizing about the delicious aromas of human food. Once in awhile, Beta would bring some out to her. Perhaps she would get lucky again today. In the mean time, Garnet trotted across the patio to her soft pillow bed and snuggled into it. She did not sleep, just lazily watched the birds and listened to the sounds of machines, other dogs, and various packs that lived nearby.

Eventually, the rest of the Pack came trickling into the woods and began to surround Mooie, each barking or growling at her, trying to impress Vertigo by their show. Vertigo nodded at Knight, telling him silently to keep the dogs off Mooie, but get her scared enough to bring her to the cabins.
Vertigo trotted away from the dogs and out onto the bridge that led to the city. She was testing Knight, she had never left him in charge before, and she wanted to see how he'd get along without her to command him. As she trotted along the streets, she saw a small fluffy dog watching birds. She cocked her head and barked softly, aiming the get it's attention.

Garnet's ears pricked up a little higher at the sound of a strange dog's bark. It was a quiet bark, but purposeful. Curious, she rose to her paws, shook to loosen her muscles after laying down for awhile, and hopped off the back porch. Garnet landed easily and trotted around to the gate that led to the front yard. Unlike the rest of her fence, the gate was made of chain-link and one could easily see through it. Sure enough, a dog stood there quietly observing her. She had never seen this dog before, but, being new to the area, that was not saying much. Garnet made sure to keep some distance between herself and the fence, just in case this stranger held malicious intent. The black and white dog had trespassed on her pack's territory, but only just. Garnet knew she was not supposed to make a lot of loud of noises without due cause. Therefore, she looked the larger dog over cautiously, careful not to betray her thoughts with a facial expression and refrained from becoming aggressive.
"Hey, Stranger."

Mooie just glanced at the retreating dog, Virgito. "Oh, are you retreating now, great Virgito?" She asked, standing her ground.
