Sam had her from Jess's brief conversation, Roth Ranch and stool, "Jess i'm coming, I promise." Sam said and hung up. She raced to her truck leaving Jacob. she raised to her truck, started it up, she backed it up, and tore down the drive. She raced Roth Ranch, STUPID! I forgot Bits. She thought suddenly freakishly mad and upset with herself. She raced down the drive way in the ditch, she reached the main part of the ranch and saw a sort of wooden shed, she crept up on it, and peeked threw a hole and saw, hair! She gasped and fell back it was Nate's hair! "Nate?" She asked through the hole.

Jess heard Sam and her gymnastics had paid off she got her self undone and yelled " Sam!!" ticket nickerd at sam tough a pat locked stall. Ranger snorted at Jess and walked up to her they were in the same barn.

Nate looked up, he went to move and his leg hit a shovel, which came back, cartoon style and hit him hard in the face. He groaned and crumbled to the ground, his body tightening as the shovel laid across his stomach.

"Jess?" She asked changing her focus to Jess, "Where are you?" She asked, wanting to help both of her new friends. Sam heard a thud, "Nate!" She asked.

Jess found what she believed to be a chain saw and started it and cut down the door to the rotting barn andtruned it off and kicked down the door and said " Am over here. " ranger " walked out behind her as she ran to shed and said " Nate ? "

Nate heard his name and made a low groaning noise. He head was dizzy, his face and body was pounding with pain, and his vision was blurred with black dots.

"NATE!" Sam said, she ran to door, locked she picked up a piece of wire, Huh, I thing that I learned from dad payed off. she thought impressed. She twisted it around frustrated, she picked up a rock bang it against the lock, she a huge arm came around her neck, someone was holding a pocket knife up to her throat. She screamed, "JESS!" The man pulled her tighter. She grabbed on to his wrist and she bit him with all her might, she grabbed the pocket briskly from his hand and kneel over th man, the knife now on his throat! "Nate, are you okay?" She asked not turning her head from the man.

Jess said " hold on she dug through her saddle bag and pulled out a small colt pistol and held at the man and said " don't move or I'll shoot." Jess looked at Sam and said " am very dangerous person.one thing my taught me never leave the house without a gun."

Nate groaned again, his only awnser to the question. His mouth formed one word, Jess. But the word was silent, almost like it ws never there, but Nate knew it was. He heard Jess's voice, bu it sounded faint and distant to him.
