"Xyli, why are you afraid?" Wind asked her, seeing the small trace of fright in her eyes. "Is there something bothering you?" It was a stupid question, he knew. They had so much to worry about...but, they could get through anything as long as they stayed together. Still, he wondered why she could be feeling this way with him. Was she afraid that he still had feelings for his old pride?

Xyli smiled softly, shaking her head. "I don't know...I guess it's just that; we're being so disloyal. My pride would gladly kill me already, and what about yours? Don't you have a position to uphold? Your' the Beta!" She sighed, pressing her forehead to his shoulder, releshing being so close to the lion. "I don't know." She sighed, glancing up at him.

Wind shrugged. "There's what, like 5 lions in my pride, maybe?" he said darkly, scowling. "Being beta male isn't exactly that big of an accomplishment. And besides," he continued, his eyes shining as he smiled at Xyli. "I just joined the first pride I saw when I arrived here, I was injured and Jade took me in. She was the only one who showed any kindness to me, besides you of course. I'm not trying to be disloyal when I say this, but I don't feel much loyalty towards my pride. I don't feel like I belong...and when you talk of your pride, you always talk about how tough they are on you, and they don't exactly sound like much fun either. How do you feel about your pride?" He paused, his tail flicking back and forth slightly. "You don't have to base it off of anything I just said, I'm just curious," Wind said.

Xyli flicked her ear, sitting down heavily, close enough so that her pelt was touching his. "My pride? Well, A long time ago, it was wonderful. We were all loyal.." She sighed, narrowing her eyes slightly. "But then I was the only one, along with another lioness. Everyone else had gone soft." She glanced at Wind, frowning slightly, "I guess now I have too," She whispered, her gold eyes shimmering in the moonlight. It was worth it, for Wind. "But, I don't know, it just seems like life has been a battle within my pride...how can you feel loyalty to cats that hate you?" She asked, shrugging, her yellow eyes on Wind. "Is that wrong of me?"

"No, it's not wrong at all...I feel the same way," Wind answered quietly, his eyes downcast. "I think it's pretty impossible to feel loyalty to anyone that hates you. You need to feel accepted and wanted to be able to feel loyalty, I think. And besides, I never felt much towards my pride in the first place. I really have no reason to stay..." he stopped, wondering what Xyli would think of what he just said. Her soft fur touching his was comforting to him, and he shifted a bit closer, resting his head on hers.

((OMG! I haven't been on in forever! I would post, but I don;'t know what to post because a) no one really interacts with my charries and b) it seems like this RP is dieing. :'( ))

Xyli sighed, closing her eyes. I'm the traitor, now. All my life...fighting against them, and now here I am. She opened up her golden eyes, glancing up at Wind, and smiled. "I think your right, Wind." She mused softly. "How could we ever trust anyone who can't trust us?" She asked, knowing there were really only two lions she trusted now; him and Lexi, though maybe not even her these days. What would she think if she saw her now? Shaking the thought from her head, she knew that Otis and Jinx, even if they were her friends before, were not. They were leaders who couldn't see her veiws, or trust her to know what she was doing. It killed her to have to say this...but she felt like she was sufficating, and she needed a way out. "Let's run away, then." She whispered, her yellow eyes bright as suns in the darkness.

Tanya
Tanya padded around the territory, going slow so Liona could keep up. Her ears swivelled and her whiskers twitched as she looked for something to do.
Liona
Liona bounded after Tanya, pouncing at her mother's tail every now and then.
Karu
Karu walked in a circle in his den, curling up after he was situated. He closed his eyes as he felt his sister next to him.
Sara
Sara watched Karu ly down. She padded next to him, resting her chin gently on his back. She too closed her eyes.

Naava padded up to Tanya. "What are you doing up so late?" She asked with a yawn. She had woken from a nightmare, and had seen the cub watcher and her cub awake. It was strange--she thought they would have been tired at this hour.
